I've got an issue with my music apps since I updated my M3 to the new B308 version. No matter what music app i use (spotify, deezer, various music player from the Play Store) the controls (previous, next, play/pause) in the notification bar and on the lock screen don't work. The control bar is showing but taping the buttons doesn't do anything. The only app which buttons work is the default music app. Can you guys help out?

I am looking for a Lockscreen replacement, but I want it to support two things:
1. "iPhone-like" notifcations from all apps (gmail, chompsms++).
2. A widget that shows whatever is playing now with controls.
I really like the stock lock screen, but it does 1. only with it's stock apps. The only apps that keeps a notification on my setup is missed calls. It also has a nice music widget that shows both music from Wimp and Play music when it is playing. It also shows album art from my podcasts when playing in Pocket Casts. However the widget is a little "flakey". It works sometimes and not always.
Ca anyone recommend a lockscreen I can try or a setup that provides my two requests?

I recently Purchased the G900W8 and Ive run into the following issue.
I don't have any music on my phone and there aren't any videos yet either, but still the Music player shortcut controls keep coming up on my lock screen. at random times multiple times a day (without opening the Music player app) the music controls will come up on the lock screen even tho there is nothing to play. When i open my Task Manager/ Active applications tab its all clear and even when i clear my recent apps tab the controls will still be on my lock screen.
The only way i can get rid of the controls on the lock screen is by opening the Music Player app then going and going and clearing the recent apps and forcing the app to close.
Then the Controls will be gone from my lock screen, for about an hour or so.

I didn't find this anywhere else so I do hope it's something new and it's not just me missing something.
I suppose you already know of the illumination bar bug that enables you to have the illumination bar's light dancing with the screen off or when out of the walkman app. If not, all you have to do is make a shortcut of the walkman app on a homescreen, have something playing on the app, and then while on the screen with the shortcut, tap the walkman app and then quickly tap the home button. Now after you've done that the illumination bar will work out of the walkman app and/or with the screen off.
Now on to the new fun stuff I discovered. Install poweramp(haven't tested with other music players) and do the bug mentioned above. Make sure the bug worked(if you're on the home screen and the illumination bar lights up with walkman playing it worked) and then just go to poweramp and tap on a song to play. Now you just caused another bug, a more interesting one. This time the illumination bar works with (almost)any sound coming out of your phone. For example the light will dance with a game's music just like it did with walkman. The only 'downside' is that the colour will always be that of the song that played on the walkman app before you played the song in poweramp.

Actually, you don't need to install or run another music player, you just need reproduce anything that cuts off music (some music games for example).... So the steps would be: turn on light bug > while playing music make it stop but no close (start a game with music, the old "ram problem" chrome+walkman works) > voilà

The stock music player has lockscreen controls accessible without tapping the notification bell, and the album cover appears as the lockscreen background.
However, these features are not available when using other music apps like Spotify and Pandora, which makes skipping a track very annoying since it requires tapping the notification bell. I could care less about the album art in the lockscreen, judt thought I should point it out.
Does anyone know a way to make the spotify or pandora act as the stock music app to get controls in the lock screen? Thanks.

You can wait for future update which should remove the bell as everyone hates it or use another app for locked screen.
The problem with using another locked screen is you end up with two locked screens unless you choose to disable the built-in locked screen.
Any ideas?
this also happens with Poweramp music player, no idea why
Perhaps this is a media player issue? I use Poweramp v3 beta and same thing goes on. Quite annoying when you're using the phone as a gps in horizontal mode and the notification bar, with just one notification takes up 85% of the screen.
I don't have this issue with Spotify or Pandora or Google play music.
Weather Underground started doing the same for me after updating to NMI61C. It was normal before the update. Still twice the normal size after updating to NMI81C. All other notifications are normal size. Unstalling and reinstalling Weather Underground did not help. I have not tried a factory reset yet.
Same thing for Lux ( lite )
Same with BeyondPod as well.
It's kind of annoying.
