P10 Lite WAS-LX2J hard bricked - can't get into TWRP - Huawei P10 Lite Questions & Answers

I was trying to install lineageos on my Huawei P10 Lite.
I unlocked fastboot and oem and installed TWRP.
When flashing lineageos it soft bricked the phone, so I tried to recover by flashing eliterom. This failed as well so I tried lineageos again.
Now the phone won't even start booting (i.e. no bootloop, but stuck on the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" page).
I can get into the e-recovery by holding power and volume up, but the recovery always fails as well.
I don't know how to get into TWRP, as adb won't recognize the device because the boot never really starts.
Is there anything else I can try to recover this phone?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

turn phone off, then hold volume+ and power, this should boot you into TWRP
otherise try dload recovery method or reflash TWRP via bootloader?

Seems you have only one choice:
Download service rom for your model, put files on the SDCard in folder called "dload", press and hold all 3 buttons: Power + VolUP + VolDown
Then will begin system update and you will have fresh stock rom with stock recovery and locked bootloader. The phone will be as new
Service ROMs: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/help/original-service-rom-huawei-p10-lite-t3688097
Example:
Was-lx1 dual sim phone, on your sd card create folder a dload and put files like that:
/dload/update.app
/dload/WAS-L21_hw_eu/update_WAS-L21_hw_eu.app
then turn off the phone and press all 3 buttons
This method works on WAS-LX1, LX1A and others and should also work on WAS-LX2 but you need rom for your region.

You can get into the recovery mode by holding down volume down and plugging in the usb connector. This way you can try re-flashing twrp, good luck!

I'm not sure if this will work, but you can use HwOTA7 to install your firmware.
HwOTA can be used to Upgrade from EMUI5 to EMUI8 or Install EMUI5 to EMUI5.
HwOTA7 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-lite/development/hwota-huawei-p10-lite-t3776186
WAS-LX2J Firmware - http://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=WAS-LX2J&firmware_page=0 (click on Filelist to see all files)
you need to download FullOTA files (update.zip, update_data_full_public.zip, update_full_WAS-L22J_hw_jp.zip) and also choose your region (C635, C600 or C719)
Example WAS-LX2J, Region C635, Firmware version B190:

Thank you very much!
I just want to check a few things before I try this:
How do I know which region(C635 etc)?
Also, before I start could you explain to me the difference between the first firmware you linked at pro-team.ru and the hicloud files you linked?
Thanks very much anyway, hopefully this works!

1st firmware files are only for European C432 region and model WAS-LX1 or WAS-LX1A.
DO NOT USE IT!!! You can REBRAND your LX2J (Asia) to LX1 (Europe) but it's most likely to have problems with LTE 4G network because of the different Band supports.
So, DO NOT REBRAND ASIAN models to EUROPEAN!!!
2nd firmware is Asian, but there is several regions for Asian LX2J: C635, C600 or C719.
C635 is the most popular.

you can get into the recovery,I think...check it:
remove cables
goto erecovery and press reboot
press vol.up button immediately(hold until recovery starts)
If you can't get into recovery yet, maybe you have corrupted recovery.
Try downloading and flashing it.

I'm having trouble getting HWOTA to work... I have tried following the video you posted but it just stops working at the wait for twrp step.... I got past there once, but then when it got to the system update step the update just immediately failed on my phone and I havent been able to get past the twrp step since. I can get into twrp but the hwota doesnt recognize it.
Update: I got it to work... I don't know how or why but it worked! Thank you so much for your help everyone!

Hi, is possible to change region from Huawei P10 Lite WAS-TL10 C636 (4GB/64GB china) region to WAS-LX1A C432 (Europe) region or to any other existing 4GB RAM Europe version ? I'm using a China version WAS-TL10C636 in Europe with no problems on LTE, but I have no 5Ghz dual band WIFI like the European models.
Thanks !

Spec on gearbest says it have B20 LTE band, but it seem not to have signal from networks using B20. Is your phone working in LTE B20 (800MHz)? My does not have NFC and 5Ghz wifi.

Problem updating P8 Lite Single sim.

Hi, I recently bought this phone and its awesome but it has a problem, when I type sometimes it types 2 letters instead of one and its very uncomfortable... I've read on internet about this problem and apparently last versions like B194 (Only for Dual SIM) and Marshmallow 6.0 (B550/B551 Dual and Single Sim ) fixes this problem but here is the thing, I'm with the B181 version (ALE-L21C40B181) so im Single Sim and I wanna keep it that way. I tried to install the MM 6.0 551 for single version and it just simply doesn't work, I choose the option "Local Update" but when the phone restarts shows me the message "Install software failed"... I tried the vol+ + vol- + powerup button method but it stucks at 90% all the time and can't do anything...
Anyone can help me? I just can't update it.
PS: My bootloader is unlocked and I don't have any root!
Greetings!
This is B551 requirements

So you must have one of these firmware to successful firmware upgrade
Uhm, I have the B181 and seems to be the latest update and I don't know what to do, what are my options?
Your phone is branded by Telefonica Spain. So you must debrand and use eusingle firmware like B171, B183....
Oh, greetings, Im gonna read it.. one more thing, what's the next steps afert I debrand the phone?
Greetings!

For official update you can't have unlocked bootloader.
Also, you have to be on certain version to be able upgrade. Also make sure you have the correct file (C432 etc).
If you are on C40 firmware you can flash only C40,otherwise the update process will stop at 5% and fail. You can debrand your phone as well and then it will be easier with the updates.

L09-C183 Nougat Firmware

Hi guys,
I've been searching all over the show but can't seem to find leaked Nougat firmware for my device :/ it's a C183 released in New Zealand. Anyone know if there was actually firmware leaked for the C183 region?
cheers

I purchased the 2 degrees stock firmware for NXT-L09_C183B130_Firmware_New Zealand_Brightstar NZ Limited_Andriod 6.0_EMUI 4.0_05013NLM
Link is here https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3pCekrpvWeaNk5meFMtR1dadms/view?usp=sharing
I have that version, I updated to B330 and my cust get broke (C900), but the system with EMUI 4.1 works fine, I tried to update to nougat but the system does not allow with C605 and C432. Maybe with other version work the update.
Yeah I also purchased through 2degrees. Unfortunately it seems firmware for this region hasn't been released still... I was expecting an update back in Feb. Frustrating.
Iv'e still seen nothing
I remember when I was using the Mate2, there were countless debates if/when LL5 was going to be released.
Huawei stated by the first half of 2015. It was released I think it was JUNE 30TH...the "last" day of the first
half of 2015.
If that holds true this time, then they announced Nougat 7 for the Mate 8, "by the end of the 1st quarter of 2017"
would mean...by March 31st. Just something to think about.
Personally, I'm holding off. I can wait. I use a BT headset for the phone, and use it A LOT. The past 4 phones I've
had, I've never used it by holding the phone to my ear, only through the headset. I've seen scattered reports of
issues (not just the Huawei phones), of glitches with bluetooth on nougat.
Marshmellow for me, on the mate8 is VERY stable, so it's a choice. If you gotta have the latest/greatest, there are
sources you can find to download it, but, if you want stable, you might want to wait a while.

Nope still no sign of c183 nougart firmware and now it's may. I am beginning to believe that Huawei are not going to release firmware for this region. It may be potentially due to the poor sales of the device in the region. Who knows. I have not been able to find a single other firmware variant that will flash to the phone. It's disappointing that we've been let down like this with it being a flagship device.
Does anyone have the backup of the cust for this region firmware? I will Rollback my update from 330 (Where I lost my cust), and I will try to change the region, Does anyone tried to change the region to get updates?

these were taken from partition backup manager a few months ago ...these are from NZ L09-C183B150 EMUI 4.0
I have managed to upgrade to Nougat EMUI 5 using firmware finder without root or unlocking boot loader....following L29-636 Starting from file from B180 I didn't change cust but after first update it changed to L29 636 and has had no problems at all
The B585 is smooth and I have had no issues with batter drain or restarts at all...very happy with this after 3 weeks no problems at all.
The only issue was that after B330 which updated successfully, I did discover that my bootloader did get unlocked so I used DC Unlocker to re lock again which cost me 6 credits....now unrooted and bootloader locked.

This is not for the faint hearted , You need to make sure you have backups of oem.info and cust for for the NZ model.
Also have the NZ firmware update app if needed, here on my google drive....unzip and place extracted update.app onto your SDCARD in dload folder
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3pCekrpvWeaNk5meFMtR1dadms/view?usp=sharing
Using HCU Client read phone info take a a screen shot with repair UMTS with of your serial number, imei number, & sub imei, WIFI & bluetooth MAC vendor etc...store this on your PC because you may need these settings if you lose modem settings after unbricking from DC Phoenix
I then would recommend that you have DC Phoenix on stand by and bookmark this link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/help/nxt-c900b180-to-nxt-l29c432b330-easily-t3611500 even though its for 432 it will still get you unbricked if it all goes sour.
Now....just to clarify I was on stock firmware L09C185B130 same as your model (shared from link above)with locked bootloader and no root make sure you have developer mode enabled and OEM unlock enabled.
If any of the above is confusing then I would recommend that you go no further.
1st Install Firmware finder and and Firmware finder proxy. enable proxy port in wifi settings ie localhost port 8080
2nd Open FF go to settings and enable USE PROXY TO INSTALL disable SHOW PACKAGES FROM CURRENT REGION
3rd Open go back to FF start and type in NXT-L09636 and click search go to the first and lowest firmware which is B170 download and then install via proxy thru normal update it will show up in Phone settings system update if it doesn't then go back into FF settings and tell it to use proxy to install and then push system update to detect.
This should install without any hitches but you will notice now your firmware will be c900b170
goto FF again and choose the next firmware which is 180 then 193 then 211 etc etc when you get to 330 you will have to trial and error which file will work, I started with the largest full OTA but I dont remember in the end which one worked I think I had 3 or 4 goes if it fails it will stop at 15% and then stop you will have to force reboot thru holding power key but it should boot to normal and then just try another firmware of the same number.
when you get to b330 you should find you have changed to L29636B330 but you will now have unlocked bootloader? not sure why? anyway....keep trial and error updates until you get to B585
Hope it works good luck

I change the region and the model to L29C636, thanks to Mickie's helps, my steps:
1. I install the B330, wich a get from the Firmware official thread, and I used the 3 button method.
2. With SRK Tool, unlok the bootloader and get root .
3. Again with SKR Tool, change the region, (Change oeminfo and custom bin) to Asia (C636) and model (L29).
4. Donwload and Install the L29C636B330 (3 button method), I have to make a Factory Reset, with this firmware I lost the root and get locked the bootloader.
5. When I start normally, automatically get the update by OTA to L29C636B563.

Screwed up. Sdcard updated a2017 with a2017u fw

Hello guys I'm new and partially retarded. I can compute quite well but modding phones on this level is very new to me. I severely need help..
I SDcard loaded the Oreo fw from the ZTE English site and the support area mentioned nothing about "don't upload this Oreo fw to your Chinese a2017 b15 on 7.1.1 or you'll lose all modem function" and so I loaded it no problem and now the phone reports I don't have a sim card installed. When I downgraded to 7.1.1 again using another u fw I noticed it found the sim card but it can't get service still. Also now, when I tried to sdcard load the b15 nougat firmware from the Chinese zte site in recovery mode, I get footer error 21 and I can't upload the Chinese firmware now either. I'm seemingly stuck as an a2017u on a Chinese a2017 hardware chassis. I can only use the Wi-Fi and everything else on the phone. I get no cell service.
Apparently it's not bricked but I severely need guidance on returning this to its former a2017 b15 firmware so I can go back to using it with only 3g on my 4g LTE plan.
That's actually why I updated. I've had this phone second hand from a friend who claimed he had the 4G and LTE service when he was still with Cricket last year. I am starting to doubt that being truthful as Cricket reps could not get me 4g service no matter what.
Please help thank you.
@jdk309: You say Cricket (owned by AT&T) is your carrier, so I'm assuming you live in the US. But you have a Chinese A2017. As I see it, you have 2 viable choices:
1. Flash A2017 pure stock firmware. But then you will not have the Google apps, like Play Store. The A2017 doesn't support most of the 4G LTE radio bands that most US carriers use. I have heard talk elsewhere of adding new bands with QPST/QFIL, but never heard of anyone being successful with an A7. Mostly for other phones that use a Qualcomm chipset, of which the A7 is one of many. So you will still be limited to 3G.
2. Flash A2017U stock firmware, then you will have native English support and the Google apps. As I understand it, you will then need to flash a Chinese modem to get your SIM card and cell service working on the U ROM. Which modem you need depends on the firmware (Marshmallow modem for MM, Nougat for Nougat, Oreo for Oreo). But you will still be limited to 3G. Easiest way to flash a modem file is to use Axon 7 EDL tool. Or you can unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, then install the proper modem zip file.
I recommend using EDL and A7 EDL Tool or MiFlash to flash the firmware.
Other options are to flash a non-stock custom ROM, like LineageOS. Then you will have much more customization capabilities. But you will still need to use the proper Chinese modem. You call also sell your A2017 and use the money to buy an A2017U. Then you will have full 4G support.
I myself own an A2017U, live in the US, and have T-Mobile as my carrier. I have full 4G LTE service, no issues at all. But I have never tried to use the Chinese/Global A7 variants on a US carrier. I am mostly just repeating what others have said, so take it with a grain of salt.
Hope this helps!

More than you know! Thanks!!
@jdk309: A modem file will usually be named as NON-HLOS.bin. Install/unzip A7 EDL Tool, put the file in the right folder, boot to EDL, then flash. I'm not sure if flashing EDL zips requires an unlocked bootloader, I have read that you can brick the phone if it is BL-locked. Not sure, be careful. My BL is always unlocked, so I never have to worry about/consider it.

Thank you I will keep that in mind. Yes Im in the states just as you are. I just remembered and located two screenshots I took of my old phone's firmware info page and I was wandering if you could glean any information from it that might help locate the original firmware that I was running. The two photos are in my username's page under a new photo album I created.
A2017v1.1.0B15 was the build info. Have you ever seen that anywhere on here where it has zero chinese bloatware or incomplete translation (chinese language remnants) and full 3G capabilities? Its so odd that I cant find anything like it online. Your help is greatly appreciated!!
@jdk309:
For B15 Oreo Firmware:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=1322778262903996734
I found another B15 file:
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120758937
One file was published in 2017, the other in 2018. I would use the newer file, if you want Oreo. Both are Chinese firmware for the A2017, 100% original and untouched, you should even be able to install OTA updates when they are released.
You may also be able to get an A2017 Oreo SD Card zip from the ZTE China support site. I don't know Chinese so you'll have to find it yourself. Not sure if they released an SD Card update for the A2017 though. Just place on SD Card and install from stock recovery. Or you can install from TWRP with my steps (just substitute the A2017U file with the A2017 file, all other steps are the same, and remember to install Chinese modem afterwards):

Hello,
had you already took a look at @k1ll3r8e's thread ?
He made a toolkit that can do what you need.
Best regards
Edit:
Dude you can do that also without the toolkit.
You only need the right oeminfo dual sim
and the correct rom.
Feel free to ask...
hello dadditz,
thank you for your reply! Of course i read a lot here and other sites, and also found the P9 toolkit! But my problem was/is, that i cant "upgrade" to VNS-L21C432B160 because i already was on VNS-L21C432B503 ... so i tried different things, but it did not work. Always the menue "Dual sim configuration" was not in the settings menue... and the image felt little bit "laggy"...
BUT
i was giving it another try - i downgraded from Nougat to MM with this ... tutorial and repeated the steps listed in the P9 lite toolkit... and now i have the Dual-Sim menue in the settings dialogue... and it is working
Because its not "enough" i wanted to return to Nougat - until now with no success... so am i now stuck on VNS-L21C432B160 ?
I tried some images from 380/370/336 but the huawei recovery always stops on 5% and denies the update - how can i upgrade again?
kind regards

Hey,
I think you could save yourself from going back
at MM, but, the omelette is made now ...
Have you already done a factory reset + wipe cache in stock recovery ?
Tell me a little bit when you reboot the device
does any warning text come out ? if yes, what color ?

Well, when i was on Nougat, i was not able to see the "Dual Sim Settings" in the settings menue - i tried 20 times
i think... when i went "back" to MM the menue was immediately there...
I did the factory reset and wiped cache in stock recovery menue.
Booting up my device seems all fine - bootloader is relocked, no warnings or anything...
HiSuite told me that my device "has the latest developer version" and no upgrade would be available...
I tried to flash the firmware with TWRP - without success...; when i try dload the phone stuck on 5%... i also
tried the "-PV" versions - without any luck...
So i really have no idea left how to upgrade from this version?!

Use Firmware Finder to force the upgrade, download it from the store.
VPN method worked fine for me (i was on android 7).
Inside the app all the info, anymore
a thread is present here on XDA.
Give it a try...
You're on B160, go for B370 PV version, check compatibility otherwise choose for full ota one.
Good luck
Cheers
