Dear all,
I just spent hours modifying the original usb connector taken from the headset. My aim was to modify it to charge the hermes while connected to my car stereo. I managed to open the connector and solder on two extra cables for charging. My problem now is that the phone doesn't recognise the headset any-more.
So here my question: how does the phone recognise that the headset is connected? Do I need to bridge any connections (e.g. on the usb data side etc.) for the phone to switch from internal loudspeaker to output throught the connector? Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Ralf
Hi,
I purchased this carkit which is supposed to work with my Touch HD (I had one from the same brand for my kaiser which worked fine)
However when i plug in my phone i get the message "USB headset not supported" and the phone doesn't charge. I can call handsfree since there's a jack cable connected as well, but ofcourse it also needs to charge.
Is there any thing i can tweak in the phone to get it working or should i return the carkit?
Thanks in advance
anyone got an idea?
audio is not routed through the extUSB port of THD.. the audio out is only through the 3.5mm headphone socket ..
the diff b/w ExtUSB and usual miniUSB was the audio out being routed through the usb socket.. it's valid for other htc models except for THD
so this might be the reason!
..
i dunno dutch.. so didn't make much of the site u provided.. but looks like it uses the usb port for connectivity..
it uses the usb socket to charge, theres a separate jack for routing the audio. it just wont charge and gives me the error msg
as far as my imagination goes.. u have to tweak the usb jack of the veripart docking station.. seems like the usb jack is wired such .. that it gives a usb device connect signal ..
http://www.tracyandmatt.co.uk/blogs/index.php/2006/09/10/htc_hermes_usb_connector_pin_config
as per this .. the lower part contacts send the "USB device connect signal" to th THD and it can't recognise it..as it's not programmed to recognise one.
blocking the lower contacts might help! or changing the minis usb lead to an usual one..
but Mate! Its just my hypothesis!jus trying to understand the reason! do consult some more buddies regarding this! all of this might damage ur telephone.. can create shorcircuit etc.
i am a cable freak and currently stream audio through my work pc and use the pc speakers. i would like to use bluetooth to eliminate the line in cable. is there anyone doing this? i don't want to buy a bluetooth adapter if this is not possible.
another reason using the line in cable is a PITA is because when i receive a call i have to pull the cable out. then when the call is over i have to make sure i plug it back in quickly or else the music just starts playing again automatically using the rear speaker (pandora).
I just bought my first smartphone , a Galaxy S5. While I new to smartphones, I am not new to tech. In my car ( a 2015 Subaru Forester) I was powering my S5 with the USB cable plugged into the car's USB port. I had the phone playing Pandora. I sort of assumed that I would get the music signal on the USB line but found that the enabled BT was overriding the USB so I was getting the music with my radio set to BT-A. The problem was that the every few seconds the volume would drop and the phone would make two beeps. If I disconnected the USB cable and ran off battery, this issue went away.
On further inspection, I noticed that on every volume drop with beeps, a USB connection notification was appearing in the notification lists. I just wanted the USB for power but it seemed to be trying to connect over and over and each time, the notification was interfering with the audio. I could not find a setting to stop the S5 from trying to connect to USB data.
Any ideas?
Hello,
I have to make a streaming setup using my redmi note 7. I can mirror the screen with a software and the sound with the 3.5mm jack. I connect the phone to the "line in" jack on the computer (the blue one) an it works, i can ear the audio from the phone on pc. But when i connect the phone to pc via usb for mirroring screen, the sound becomes crappy and i hear a low background sound like a whistle. The same happens if i connect the phone to charging in power supply. If a try to move a bit the usb plugged, i hear the "distortion".
With my Samsung Galaxy s6 this doesn't happen.
How can i solve?
