Hi,
is there any way to hide OTA update notification icon on status bar (via ADB or something)? I really don't want to install latest Oreo update.
Thanks for reply.

Ever since I rooted my phone I've had a problem where an update notification appeared but the update fails to install. I want to get rid of the notification because it is annoying.
I have flashed various roms but the notification always returns.
How can I remove it?
Nevermind. It was not the OS update notification as initially thought! Sorry, still new to this phone!
I'm currently running rooted stock + xposed modules + TWRP. Today, I received a persistent notification "System update available. Android 5.0 System Update". I don't want to update to Lollipop right now. What is the best way to block the update and remove the notification?
I've tried a few things from other threads (other phones, specific ROMs, etc), but none of them have worked.
I assume the OTA would fail anyway with the custom recovery?
Thanks.
Install Gravity Box. Use the 'Ongoing Notifications Blocker' under 'Statusbar tweaks' to block 'Google Play Services'. It has an icon similar to the icon the notification comes with.

this works
Thanks
Thanks for both of the replies. I used the first suggestion since I already had gravity box installed. It worked great.
hello my phone is show don't distube logo How can I remove it?
You mean donot disturb logo on status bar??
Yes, he means the 'Do not Disturb' indicator of the status bar.
As I assume you are not into Android development, sadly there is no way for you to do so. You may want to try some sort of xposed module, but I'm not a 100% sure if one exists.
In case you are building ROMs on your own try modifying SystemUI.
Which OS are you on??
I'm on AOSP Nougat and we have this option to enable and disable certain icons on the status bar. I'm sure all other Nougat ROMs do have this feature.
Also I remember seeing this option in Oxygen OS 3.2.6 under system UI settings. Press the settings icon in the quick settings menu for about 5 seconds. This will unlock System UI Tuner. Go into the tuner settings and see if the options to disable it are there. (I'm not sure but worth a try).
Status Bar Icon Settings in Nougat
hello. i went back to nougat and now the badge notification of oreo update is persistent. can anyone help me to remove? i already disabled in option automatic update but the badge notification in settings icon is always there, how can i do? thanks
Hi,
I am on OOS 10.0.1 and plan to downgrade to 10.0.0. I know that once i do that, i will get a constant reminder on my notification bar about updating to 10.0.1. Is there a way to disable that message from showing up? I tried blocking or disabling it from android's notification settings on my wife's phone as she is already on 10.0.0, but it says it can't be disabled.
Thanks!

Yes, it's possible, but you'll have to be rooted with Magisk for that. I have a Magisk module that I use myself that spoofs the prop which the system updater reads. The prop is from the latest version of OOS, so the system updater will tell you you're on the latest version and won't have that nagging persistent notification. Let me know if you need it.
Yeah, sound great! I have magisk so this will definitely come in handy. Thanks!

Attached with this post. Install the module, reboot, clear data of the System Update system app from settings, reboot, profit. You may have to check for an update for it to remove that notification (it'll remove it once it detects you're on the latest version).
Thanks, will downgrade this weekend and give it a try!
