Ive been using the gear vr 2017 with the s9+ it was kinda hard the first tome pushing it in to activate the vr services, but it fits and works fine.

Gear VR won't work. It wont support s5 size.

Hi, i have a Samsung Galaxy J3 and i would like to try the VR box....
so i wanted to know does my phone support that and can i play VR games not just watch 360 videos
also, how can i check if my phone supports the VR or not?
NOTE : i dont have the VR headphones at the moment i just want to check my phone before buying one.

No it doesnt
You need a gyroscope sensor to use VR but the J3 doesn't have one unfortunately
While waiting for the Gear VR 2017 to come here it will take about a month, meanwhile I wonder if I can use the Gear VR app to enjoy real full screen with edges on a cardboard headset?
Ok so I installed Oculus Gear VR app and downloaded its video player but it's asking for the Gear VR.
I tried the Developer mode but it said ''you are not a developer''
Have the same problem...can't seem to find a solution as of yet.
So I bought an S8 and I am quite happy (my only complain is that the touchscreen is not as responsive as the HTC 10)
I tried it on my Fiit VR with AAA VR player and it went 100% full-screen + edges!!
Yes the picture quality is better than with the LCD of HTC 10, but not tremendously better.
I could buy a used Gear VR for S8 next month, though even used they don't come cheap (80$), so is there a better image quality than with a Fiit VR or any good Cardboard headset knowing in the end it's the same S8's screen that will play the movies?
Again it's for VR movies only that I ask, not for games

Now as samsung has dropped support for VR
is ther any way i can use it on my s20+

You can still get a cheap universal VR headset and use your S20 inside that for viewing videos
