ITS GETTING ANNOYING!!,, The internet wont work, The market wont load and if im lucky i might be able to download an app,, Some of my widgets say "problem loading" I have to trash them and reload,, Some apps tend to force close,, And also the delay after turn on the screen is bout 2sec or so..

I would say to do a full wipe (cache, dalvik cache, data, and reset to factory setting) and reflash the rom & kernel combo of your choice. Also update your radios to the latest and then update your profile under menu\settings\system updates. This should get the phone up and running better and stop the need for constant reboots. As for the widgets saying "problem loading", I get that as well and I think it is due to moving the widgets in question to your sd card. If you put them back on the internal memory of the phone that shouldnt happen anymore. If you are worried about taking up to much internal memory with widgets just set up the aps2sd and you will be able to put more of your apps on the partioned portion of your sd card and save more internal memory. Let me know if you have any questions. Hope this helps. I would like to save your EVO and not make it a chew toy for anyone!
I agree with adam, try a complete wipe, even flash calkulin's format all.zip (search for it) and flash the latest radios and re flash cyanogen. You'd be amazed at what horrors can come from not wiping the dalvik and cache. Speaking of which, try out amon ra recovery if you already haven't.
Sent from my hand.
I agree with Adam1422. It sounds like you need to do a full wipe and clean install. Do not use Titanium/Launcher/ADW/anyotherprogram backups. Save files like pictures, music, documents off your SD and format the card. Do not reuse settings or data from programs. Go into it like you just bought the phone. That will probably clear up all of your issues.
Are u using any custom kernels. Could be a more have or less have issue

Not if you do your due diligence, read up on how to do it and then perform the steps carefully without rushing. We were all n00bs once, my friend. Sure there's some tension when rooting for the first time, but there's one hell of a rush when it works. You'll be fine.

Not that I can think of, man. Good luck. Come back if you need help.
you are in the right forum to fix your phone...
it is not the phone.. but I agree with others.. you need a fresh setup done.
or even try a different ROM...
the hard part has been done for you.. ROOTing...
you need to go learn about the ROM you like... and how to install it.
learn about: wipe, recovery, nandroid backup, ROM, ...
this needs to be learned anyways for your life with EVO, because you wanted it rooted.
ps.. to fix this.. you are going to loose all your data and put your phone almost back to stock form. dont worry.. contacts and calendar should be backed up to google if you told evo to do so.

Where can i direction to do the procedure?? whats the first step??
here is a good place to start reading:
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/194918-rooting-dummies.html
I would like for you to try a new ROM... that is Sense ... so that you are able to use it more to what the EVO was.
this ROM is stable and has everything working:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=793471
once you have done one Flashing of a ROM.. and working..
you can easily do others as you find interest in them.
more side reading for afterwards:
there is the rooting procedure that I used:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829045
since you are already rooted.. this not needed.
but you should read the first page.. for your knowledge
here is the main forum for evo on xda.. for development. lots for you to research on new things for evo:

Definitely make sure before you go flashing ROMs and stuff you do a nandroid backup.
Step-by-step instructions for how to do this, plus flash ROMs and stuff, can be found here:
http://htcevorooting.x10.mx/wiki/index.php?title=Main_Page
Ask your friend what method he used to root your phone, plus check which recovery manager you're using (reboot your phone into recovery, it should say which manager it is. If you're still running CyanogenMod there should be an option to do this if you choose reboot instead of shutdown when holding the power button.)
First off all, credit for this guide goes to steal25 and lowetaxes for the original guide
It was just revised for the Shift
A special thanks also goes to strapped365 for his help revising this guide
READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS ALL THE WAY THROUGH FIRST BEFORE DOING ANYTHING
I do not reccomend "just flashing over a ROM"
1. REREAD THE INSTRUCTIONS (If your seeing this for the second time, proceed)
2. Make a Nandroid backup of your present set up.
3. Boot into Recovery
4. WIPE EVERYTHING!!! I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH
•Wipe in this order:
DALVIK CACHE
CACHE PARTITION
FORMAT SYSTEM
FORMAT SD:EXT
FORMAT DATA
FORMAT CACHE
THEN WIPE ALL USER DATA/FACTORY RESET
Do all of these 3Xs . Some do it only once. Some do it as much as 4Xs . 3Xs is Recommended
WIPE EVERYTHING EXCEPT THE SD CARD
5. Flash ROM (of your choosing)
6. Reboot (first Boot may take a while ) this is NOT a Bootloop.
7. Before you do anything, let the ROM settle in for about 10 mins. After about 10 mins, unlock the lockscreen.
8. Skip through Initial set up. DO NOT set up any accounts yet. Check and make sure everything installed.
9. IF NOT ON A SENSE ROM go ahead and install google apps
10. Now go ahead and sign into all your accounts. Set up Google and all that good stuff.
11. Open market, and install apps. If you use Titanium Backup DO NOT RESTORE System Apps or Data. Try not to restore Data for any app. If you restore an app like games and such, just restore the app.
THESE ARE THE SAME INSTRUCTIONS I FOLLOW. THE RESULT IS A BETTER FLASH THAN JUST DOING A REGULAR WIPE.
THIS PROCESS WILL ENSURE THE SYSTEM IS WIPED PROPERLY. RESULT, LESS OF A CHANCE FOR ISSUES TO ARISE!

Thanks very much for the detailed step-by-step instructions. Great tips... and I've successfully flashed MikShifted G Executive Edition onto my Evo Shift. It's *gorgeous*!!
Your very welcome. Glad I could help .
9. Boot into recovery, and wipe CACHE and DALVIK-CACHE. Then Reboot phone.
is wipe cache the same as format cache ?
Yes and no. It's a deeper clean allegedly.
This is the one I meant
Here we go again . I meant this one .

is there anyway to write a script that can be run from recovery to do all that stuff automatically?

I'd second that but I don't agree with the instructions regarding Titanium. Of course, one should only restore system data at their own risk with the expectation that it'll mess things up but I've never had any trouble restoring data for nonsystem apps. For me being able to restore an app's data after a wipe or reset is one of the main benefits of having root access. I would never flash different ROMs if I thought I was gonna lose all my app data.

Yes. My Linuxfu is weak though, so I'm not gonna be writing it but I think it's a fairly easy task. Maybe check the Evo forums, I've seen a lot of them mention a full wipe zip. I wanna say it's Myn's but wouldn't place money on it.

There is a " Format ALL " for the OG EVO made by Calkulin. It's on his thread HERE. But it's only for 2.1 / 2.2 . As for my opinion on TB, well it comes from a LOT of Flahing ( read FLASHAHOLIC ). That's why I'm always flashing devices for other people. Just so I can get that rush of installing a new Rom on a device . Yes I know it's a sickness . But I figure it's safer to instruct people not to restore any data. Because we are who we are, and if you say some is ok. Then what is likely to happen is it will almost all be restored . Most always causing all kinds of weird issues. Yes you can restore some app data, but you have to use common sense ( no pun intended ) .
Mod can you please sticky this for us. Thank you
good guide noticed a big improvment! thanks. +1 for sticky!
No problem. Glad it helped you .
Noob question here as well... mind if i ask you before you flash the ForceRom, did you wipe data cache etc? but in what order.
Trying to figure this out before i continue
Thanks
Dalvik, system, data, cache. It doesn't matter the order.

would system swipe erase all my previous app data?
If you're looking for a dirty flash, just wipe cache and dalvik. That'll keep your previous apps and settings.

Yeah, the only thing you have to look out for is the built-in default wipes some of the ROMs have. So don't forget to nandroid first.

Quickest way is probably to download goo manager from play store.
Open it. Hit your menu button. Install openrecoveryscript
TWRP is incredibly sensitive to the touch for our device right now and pretty unusable for most. Just a heads up

i'm loving my phone, that's why i've asked lots of questions and how to's.. just want to get everything right on GS4
thanks again for all your assistance.
What kind of method would I need to use to be able to get my phone back to stock? I tried to take the update, but failed, and then in a haste deleted all of my storage on the phone. I know that I need to use the OTG cable, but I'm not sure how to go about it. I put a .tot file on the root of a thumb drive to see if i could see it through TWRP but I couldn't. I am in a bootloop that goes straight to TWRP, but I don't have any files to flash to get it to boot up the rest of the way. Do I need to use the KDZ file instead? I have no experience using ADB either so if that is what I need to do, I definitely need assistance with it. Thanks in advance I hope?

Where will this get me? I dont think I have any kind of rom or anything to boot to because I deleted my memory on accident after I was already in the bootloop. Does the stock rom still exist under everything despite wiping all of memory? Not just data but EVERYTHING (yes I know, I shouldn't have been so antsy while not being familiar with TWRP).

When you wiped, you selected dalvik, cache, and data, correct? If so, you'll be fine (If you truly wiped everything already, you wouldn't have TWRP anyway). The line from that link I posted simply deletes the OTA you downloaded. If you type it exactly as written, nothing else will be done to your phone. Be sure to triple check what you're typing though.
Feel free to keep looking around though if you like.
Best of luck

Yeah, Both methods result in the same thing. Format data won't wipe everything.
Hi all,
Fairly new to this phone (9t) and am currently on Titanium is. Was wondering if there's a way to disable encryption as I tend to find if things go wrong you potentially lose all data and I tend to mess about with mods etc so don't want to run that risk!
Cheers!
Anyone?

Idk if its the right answer but u need to backup ur files on ur pc first (i suggest u mixplorer to copy them by wifi, usb is kinda slow for me) than u need to format data and flash DFE everytime when u flash a rom to boot

You need to format Data to remove encryption ONlLY if you want to install custom ROMs
For Magisk and any modding you plan to do with Magisk/root, you don't need.
Also, for the official TWRP or OrangeFox you don't need to decrypt (unless you go for custom ROMs)
I'm currently on a custom ROM but when I first went through the setup process everything was decrypted, then when I booted up and went in settings, it said encrypted and going by to twrp asked for my pattern to decrypt. I'm not sure what I've missed through doing all that but as a consequence, whenever I flash an update to the ROM, I have to reflash vendor + fw just to be able to boot again... I'm worried that at some point this will **** up and screw my data up.
So say for example if I set everything up from scratch again, what process should I follow? I'm using the Italian guys' twrp atm (sorry forget his username!) So is there a different twrp I should use instead or is there anything else I need to flash/do to avoid encryption happening on first boot?
