Hi All!
I've flashed a [JB] [4.1.2] Pixeldroid Jelly Bean V2.4[AOKP] rom to my HD2, almost everything is good,
but one problem makes me crazy.
The ringtone volume is very low. Interesting is, that if I choose rintone in settings its "preview" volume is great, but if real person calls me it is very quiet.
I read a lot about common Android problem and tried a number of volume boost apps with no result. I read also, that on Jelly Bean these all apps don't work with external speaker.
I read the whole ROM developer thread, and nobody mentioned about low volume problem. Do I have just no luck?
Before I had Windows Phone and volume was OK. And as I said, also it's loud enough playing music to an external speaker or selecting ringtone. Only if somebody calls me it's quiet.
Another problem, that was mentioned in the developer thread is no notification tone receving SMS, at all! just vibration.
Please help.

I don't know why but I did: settings > sound > music effects and switched to musicfx then back to dspmanager.

MusicFX does not help to me What I did an mp3 little bit louder but with disorting, helps but not so much.
With SMS vibration first I had also no vibration, it is switched off by default. In SMS window press HD2 middle "windows" button, choose Settings, and somewhere there is Vibration in menu, set to "Always".

New version 3.0 is online. Did anyone test it?
Question: (I'm new with Android) how do I store/restore my applications? For example, I have already Navigon with hundred MB maps on SD Card, should I install all of them again?
I heard "Titanium Backup" - helps this?

Pixeldroid ROM, look at first post. I think the low ringtone volume problem is general Jelly Bean problem, I read a lot about Nexus Phones, that was upgraded to Jelly Bean and have low ringtone volume.
But maybe custom-ROM developers has an idea how to fix this?
Well I'm going crazy, or Adnroid is the system from the Future, which heart my wishes and corrects itself
Yesterday I had no tone receiving SMS, and ringtone volume was very low. Yes, yesterday I definitly received SMS and calls.
Today the volume is good and SMS tone also
I did nothing - I'm still on Pixeldroid 2.4, no apps installed - nothing. One thing I can remember - It hanged yesterday as I wanted to run Angry Birds Start Wars for my son, and I pulled out the batterie, and boot it again. Two days ago I played with and set Musik Effects to "Musik FX", but without any changes.
May be this is it: set to Musik FX and reboot?

try this if you want to ..its what i did
copy the attached musicFX apk to your sdcard then with esfile explorer or root explorer copy it from your sdcard to system/app then paste and overwrite the existing one then reboot
it helped me with low volume and ringtones
i noticed my 'dspmanager' quits alot on me. i will be listening to pandora or something, pck up the phone to adjust volume and get a message 'dspmanager has stopped working' or something to that effect. maybe that's the root issue to the volume problem.
in fact, just came across this on another link. i'll give that a try.
This is not fix, but you can turn off DSP...Go to DSPManger> uncheck Enable for each configuration (Heaset, Phone speaker, and Bluetooth device).

nevermind, no love. seems the dspmanager version baked into the JB ROM doesn't provide the ability to disable it for those settings.

Try the following:
Tip Volume up or down. On the rightside choose preferences and set all to full. Voilá.
same problem with ringtone and sms tone
I am having the same problem, but this problem only started when I changed my sim card
to a new one as my old sim card would not receive a signal.
I was running my HD2 with a jellybean rom for months without this low volume on ringtone problem.
As soon as I inserted a new sim card , the phone now has the low volume problem.
I have tried to re-flash the rom , it works but only for a few hours.
The ringtone and sms tone will be loud for up to 1 day , and then it suddenly goes low on the ringtone,
and does not work at all for sms.
Anyone with a fix ?
Why does it work for 1 day and then go like this ?

Any idea what happens just before the volume changes? A particular sound played, app ran or ?

If you have a 50% chance of being right, you will be wrong 90% of the time...

This is just a shot in the dark and is probably useless..
Are you using MP3, WAV or some other sound format in some cases and OGG in some others? In other words, let's say your ringtone is OGG but the notification is MP3 or the other way around? If yes, try to change *ALL* sounds to OGG and see if that helps.
Thanks for your help, but it did not work.
The funny thing is , when you select a ringtone from settings/sound it plays
back loud, also if i try to adjust the volume from low to full it also plays back loud.
Only when i get an incoming call or sms , thats when its low, too low . I often miss the call
as i do not hear it.
I tried re-flashing the rom, it worked but only for 1 day, then suddenly switched.
No obvious reason or installation.
What bothers me is that the HD2 did not have this low volume problem before
I changed my sim card.

Unfortunately I have seen this issue reported in various devices and ROMs.
My guess would be it is something on the Android / Google level though I cannot say what.
All information is from Chinese official MIUI fourm (http://www.miui.com/thread-2894668-1-1.html)
I just translated to English for us to know what have been reported and fixed from latest developer version.
1. Touchscreen is not very sensitive, likely to lost the input.
A: This is a big trouble for user, we've fixed it on dev. 5.9.2 will soon release the stable version with the fix.
2. Some of the apps especially banking apps get FC. (This my Chinese app specific)
A: This is because Note 2 is based on latest Google code, the reason is the apps is not compatible well with Android 5.0. We are working on this.
3. Get FC/lags/reboot when switch/connect to Wifi.
A: We've contact with some of the user and get the logcat. We need more time to fix this because it related to some driver problem.
update: On dev. 5.9.10+, we've fix this issue on dev. 5.9.15. For normal user, please wait for the update on Friday.
4. Screen cause battery drain.
A: We've optimized the system on dev. 5.9.2+ please update your MIUI and report again.

5. Laggy when playing "doudizhu" or literally "battling the landlord". (This is Chinese app specific)
A: We've fix this issue on dev. 5.9.2
6. Volume key - can't wake the device after long time standby.
A: Sorry, we need more time to figure out the issue.
7. We noticed Note 2 have memory leak.
A: We've found the solution and solved it on dev. 5.9.2, Fixes on stable version will release soon.
8. There have a chance to get "SD card is corrupt" when using c10 SD card.
A: We are testing a fix for this, please be patient for this fix.
update: We've fixed this on dev. 5.9.10
9. When playing games, we notice some noisy crack sound when lowest volume.
A: We received this report and trying to fix it, please be patient.
update: We've fix this crack sound when playing games and receive the call on dev. 5.9.16 [2015-9-16]
10. Screen keep flicker in low brightness when playing videos.
A: We are looking for the solution.
update: We fix this on latest beta v5.9.15 please update your MIUI or wait for dev. version on Friday.
update: There's still some of the user reporting flicker, we will fully fix this on dev. 5.9.17, please be patient [2015-9-16]
Awesome!
Good to know they are aware of the sound and brightness issues.
great post, thanks mate
It's good that they mention the sound in games, but what about the sound issues over A2DP and at times out of the headphone jack? Hope they are aware of them as separate issues.

I hope this is the mirror bugs related to crack sound, they've solved just on today's dev. release
If you can download the latest dev. version, you can be the first one confirm this is solved:good:

I have a feeling that the problem with stereo Bluetooth might be different, but I'll be very happy indeed if I'm wrong.
I have limited data each month so I'll have to wait until Friday when Xiaomi.EU release their multi language ROM.
can someone request Chinese Dev to add double tap to wake feature.

Does the screen support it? I know the SoC does, in theory (it also supports MHL but were not going to get that).
If you install a third party launcher like Nova, you can add a shortcut to the home screen via activities that will let you get to a more default looking version of settings. In there you will find a setting to enable double tap to wake, but of course enabling it doesn't work.
Gesture support is not enabled in redmi note 2 kernel that is why it does not work and MIUI has not released kernel source yet.
Users requested for this feature on en.miui.com (worst forum i have ever experianced)
will wait and see.....
One critical bug:
Apps from Google play store can't be installed without WLAN.
I try to explain it with my limited English.... When trying to download the app, the popup appears telling something like; the file is very big, do you want to install it with WiFi or not. Answering I DO NOT want to use WiFi, the download bar appears with text; waiting for WiFi connection.
So, without WiFi the phone is useless because this bug.
I have 150Mb LTE but cannot install anything
I live in Finland and I have to get overseas data roaming checked to get data connection (LTE) working.

I saw a way to download large apps from the Play Store without WiFi mentioned in this Note 2 FAQ http://en.miui.com/thread-144562-1-1.html
Here:
http://en.miui.com/thread-18396-1-1.html
Go to Downloads, tap ...(right upper corner),Settings, download size limit, unlimited.
Million thanks!!! :victory:
I would have never found it. Tried to look it at the settings of play store.
---------- Post added at 07:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:12 PM ----------
Now when in here...Does anyone know how to tell the phone it is in Finland now? I really dont want to use overseas tethering to get mobile data working.
Today's multi language ROM from xiaomi.EU seems to fix some bugs. I think stereo Bluetooth is stutter free now, though the quality of audio seems to have deteriorated (if you see what I mean). Sound in Dead Space is as bad as ever. Epic Citadel seems better.
Hi, I have the same problem in MIUI 66.66.74.00 but the catch is that i wont' see any "download" app if the vendor has deleted it by mistake how could I get it?
thanks Alberto
Thanks...
nice

Try re-loading your ROM. This has happened to me and after trying everything but a reload without success.
Hi I have tried this on my phone and the wife's but still stuck with the 5 seconds I have looked on the post forums and there have been problems for ages but not seen a root / non root fix anywhere
I could only get around this with a custom ROM in the end. Now once again on OOS 13 only 5 secong notifications ( I have even added my notifications as root (MAGISK module)) has anyone got any advice for me please ???? ( so sick of switching ROMS just wish OOS could do long notifications)
I need help with notification sound with my OnePlus 8 Pro, especially with SMS messages and Viber incoming chat messages. I have tried all diifferent methods known to me, even clearing the apps cache and data in storage. I uninstalled and reinstalled the apps so many times and still the notification sound I pick does not work. I constantly shift from default sound to none, then from sound to other sound but get the same result each time, no notification sound coming out from my phone. I've done factory resets many times, but I still get no notification sound for SMS and Viber apps. To be clear, I do see the notification popups on the notification panel all the time and all other voice calls, ring tones and media sounds work normally. I need help please!
I have given up with the OOS ROM now , on Elixir now
After I upgrade my OP8T to OOS 12 (KB2005_11_C.21), AOD won't show notification icons for any app in the work profile. The only way to see them is to tap and exit AOD (they do show up on the lock screen). I'm not sure if anyone else is suffering from this, or it is just my problem.
Haven't found a better way to solve it while needing my phone to work badly, I made a tiny xposed module to work around this issue, and decided to share it here in case someone has the same problem.
Oxygen Updater just told me KB2005_11_C.33 (incremental OTA) has been released. I'll try it some time this week and hope it solves the issue so that I can remove this "yet another workaround module".
