I had put my 1.5 year old redmi 3s prime for charging last night and gone to sleep, it had 4% charge and i woke up to find it was 16% and not charging. I then changed my charger and cable but no avail. I then cleaned the charging port to see if that was the problem still no use. I saw couple of youtube videos n then unplugged n re-plugged my battery to see if that was the issue but my phone wasnt turning on, so i left it for plugged to the charger a couple of hours more but it wasnt charging. Then i rebooted it into recovery (power + volume up) and ran a few tests for which i have attached the screenshot. I live in a place where there is no Redmi service centre so i have to fix it myself. I would like some help to figure out if its the battery or the charging port faulty.
Now when i try to turn of the phone the only thing i get is a red light blinking. Also I used a friends phone cable to charger my phone sometime back and now his cable isnt working as well.

Hi Guy,
First post here. I looked around and could not find a solution to the problem so here we go:
So I have a U8800 X5 which I've rooted and installed Clockwork Mod and the MIUI Custom Rom.
I had been running that set up for about 3 to 4 weeks and it had been going great until recently when it started acting buggy. A few hours ago I used my phone until the battery fell to about 3% and while the phone was still on, I put it on charge.
It said "Charging" but the percentage was not increasing so I went to sleep with the phone still on charge thinking maybe it needed some time.
Now, in my sleep, the phone turned off and it will not turn back on. I have tried plugging it into another socket, charging through my pc, taking the battery out and putting it back in but every time it's the same result:
The 4 buttons at the bottom of the screen light up and the LED next to the speaker flashes red. There is NO activity WHATSOEVER on the screen itself.. I personally don't think it's charging.
Is it my battery? Is it the ROM? Is there a solution? :/
And I believe that the U8800 also works without a battery if the charger is connected (by getting power directly through the Mini-USB Cable).
It refuses to turn on when I take the battery out as well.
the same thing happened to me. it was a problem with the usb cable. i bought a new one and everything works fine again
Well, first of all try to connect it to a computer USB port with a different USB cable. If it still does not charge, then it might be that your batter is dead. OR if you're unlucky then there might be something wrong with your phone (though I don't think that. Most likely it is your battery)
You can try to connect your battery to a separate charger and see if it charges.
Few days ago I used my tablet and got low battery warning I decided to plug it to wall socket so I did it. I heard puff sound two times I unplugged it as soon as possible from what i saw that usb cable was not pushed fully into adapter and adapter burned. Same night i plugged it to original asus charger and left it charger over night it charged perfectly other day i used it without any problem untill it decharged so i plugged it again at evening with 8% remaining charging icon appeared. So i woke up next morning and unplugged tablet but I noticed it had same 8% remaining so i thought we had no power at night plugged it again, charging icon appeared but percentage won't rise it decharged. Than i tryied other cables and adapters nothing seems to help. Searched on google and found suggestions to open back cover and unplug battery for 2 mins I did that. Tryied charging from pc it worked !. So i thought I will move to wall charger for faster charging nope it still don't charge but show charging icon. So i used remaining 15% and flashed android 5.0.2 but it still didin't charge. Installed battery charge info it showing 367mA-500mA with wall and pc charging. So I need your help android users. Do I need new usb cable capable of 2.0A charging and adapter or something other? Sorry for bad english
When I plug charger LED blinks for a second and turns off, when I charged battery manually by putting the cables to V+ and V- for 5minutes the system booted, battery was at 20% and shows device is plugged in, but it's not charging it actually. While device stayed on cable for all night it was still 20% in the morning but as soon I disconnected it and battery went to 18% I plugged it back, after 2 hours it was still at 18%. system recognizes charger but not charging. I've also changed cable, adapter, replaced USB port and battery, but that didn't work. Now I have empty battery and it won't turn on for charging even in bootloader mode, as soon I turn recovery mode on it, device turns off and won't turn on again.
What's wrong? Is it motherboard problem and will repair cost more than new device?
Ok, seems the issue resolved when I disassebly phone completely and reassembled it, weird and a signal for phone replacement I guess.

Try To Reflash Rom Or Try Offline Charging If You Using Custom Kernel Make Sure USB Fast Charging Is Off If Not Then Turn It Off And Then Try..
when I woke up one morning my device gave a moisture warning.device says I need to unplug the charging cable.I waited for six hours to get better.then did not charge with adapter.currently only charging from devices such as televisions or computers.and the battery runs out too fast.if I disconnect the cable during charging it will never charge again.need to reboot to charge.computer doesn't recognize my phone.what should i do please help.
My phone recently had this problem, but it only lasted a couple days. Once I got out of the humidity the warning went away. The only workaround I found was to turn the phone off, plug it in, get the charging warning, then turn it back on and it will charge to 100% on fast charge. Kind of a pain, but it worked for me. I tried all sorts of things like clearing cache, etc but I think it was really sensing moisture. The sensor is way too sensitive.
