S8 OREO ODIN 3.13 Issue - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Im trying to flash latest Oreo files with odin. But it stuck on Setup connection.
What should I do ?
Sorry for bad English ^^
BTW I FIXED
Thanks for Ryzen on youtube comments
1, load into download mode (bixby volume down, power button)
2, click cancel (volume down)
3, load into download mode again
4, click continue (volume up)
5, flash, no error now! No need to flash another bootloader or etc, just every time you want to flash anything use this trick.
I do recommend flashing another bootloader, (maybe modem as well) etc, because it will fix bugs like these, speed up your phone, and if you flash it through a zip, instead of odin, ALWAYS do a device check. When flashing firmware (bootloader, modem etc.) You don't need to wipe anything not even dalvik cache and normal cache, just update and go!

Galaxy Note 3 N9005 Not Functioning Well After Firmware 4.4.2 Flash

Details:
Phone Model: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 N9005
Current Firmware: Kitkat 4.4.2 (very likely bugged)
Hi,
I'll list the issue in 2 parts for easier interpretation.
PART I
My phone was on Lollipop 5.0 firmware, I followed this guide on Youtube to downgrade.
The firmware I used specifically was: N9005XXUENA6_N9005OLBENA2_XME
What happened after flashing was this error: Unfortunately Setup Wizard has stopped working
I rebooted the phone in safe mode (Vol Up + Power Button + Home Button) and cleared cache and data
Then I completed the setup wizard, Wi-fi works fine & phone was able to be rooted
But the phone had these issues (even before root):
Occasional freeze when unlock screen with swipe
Restarts occasionally
Baseband Unknown
IMEI Null
Mobile network not available
So I rebooted the phone in safe mode (Vol Up + Power Button + Home Button) and cleared cache and data
Problems still persist.
So I went to PART II

Can you kindly elaborate?
Also shouldn't that be done BEFORE flashing, or am I wrong?
And also, in the steps I did above, was there any mistake in the process?
Seriously, no one's capable to solve this?
Seriously you have restored your EFS folder ??
As for the OP the stuff in the boxes is unreadable .

No, I did not back up as I did not know that I had to before flashing.
As for the OP, there I used quote instead of code. I'm sorry for that. Do inform if it is still not readable.
There are some ways... maybe... search for "recover EFS" and you find some tuts which might help you out...

Basically you followed You Tube wrong information .This has wiped your EFS folder that contains IMEI .

Assuming my EFS is not gone completely according to JJEgan, what tutorial would you recommend? I do not want to end up with a wrong guidance again.

Its the Downgrade that has caused the problems .Possible due to the modem and or bootloader .

So I'm guessing this guide is the fix.
It said N900 though, mine is N9005. Can the same method work?

Nope but i have easier way to fix maybe:
I always use n9005xxugng1 latest kit kat firmware to downgrade and never had issues. Maybe flashing this will bring back your imei and so...
The imei goes cause samsung did change efs stuffs in updates thats because you cant go back to older firmwares without imei backup. (N9005XXUGNG1 should be working fine)
But that is UK firmware and my phone did not originate from UK and wasn't bought there as well. Can that really work?

Yes should work. I have germany note 3 and flashed firmware from united arabs and is working fine.
If you want to go sure download the firmware from sammobile for your country...

I flashed using the one downloaded from my country. Perhaps like JJEgan said, my flashing method was incorrect. Can you inform me on how to flash correctly?
What I did (more or less):
1. Wipe cache + Clear Data @ Safe Mode (Volume Up + Home Button + Power Button)
2. Used Odin to flash
3. Problem
Do not use safe mode only recovery .

Sorry, I don't understand.
Did you mean flashing firmware using Odin when phone is in bootloop/"Samsung Setup Wizard Has Stopped"?
Dont use safe mode for anything at all .
((. Wipe cache + Clear Data @ Safe Mode))
Flashing a TAR file is via Odin .
Flashing a zip file or clearing cache factory reset is via Recovery .

Thanks for the explanation, V_B. That was exactly what I did before that problem happened that made me create this thread.
I'll try it again anyway using your steps as the reference, this time using the firmware you recommended. I'll report the result after.

it must be impossible. please help if unbricking this g928t edge plus is possible.

i flashed twrp recovery and rooted phone with cf-autoroot multiple times because of the dm-verity verification failing and causing FRP lock to brick my phone. i have always just flashed stock firmware and it has always fixed the issue until now. now that wont even work and i feel like ive tried everything possible. can anyone please please help me out. ive been without a phone for 2 days and it is my only phone to use. please help.
Can you get into recovery and/or download mode?
Try a 3 file flash with odin. I found these seem to fix better than the 1 big file.
Did you make a nandroid backup? Try reverting back if you did.
Did you go from 5.1.1 to 6.0.1 of yes, did you flash the new bootloader?

yes i can get into both download mode and stock recovery. and yes i did go from 5.1.1 to 6.01 WITHOUT flashing a new bootloader. and i also never made a nandroid backup. i made some backups with twrp but it seems as if has disappeared because now i have stock recovery again. which 3 files should i flash? BL, AP, CP,CSC? which 3? and should i use the 5.11 or 6.01 files?
The 3 files go in the AP, BL and CP slots in Odin.
Grab the latest firmware from Sammobile. Turn phone off,. Once it has completely shut down, use key combo volume down, home and power button to boot onto download mode.
Flash the 3 files and wait for phone to reboot.
If want to go back to 5.1.1 then grab that firmware, or of you are happy on 6.0 that's fine too.
Good luck, and as long as you can get into download mode, all is not lost

You're in the wrong forum by the way. This is for Samsung Galaxy Tab A Series not for Samsung Note 3's.
But I'll still help.
NEVER EVER TRY INSTALLING TWRP AND THEN CWM!!! THAT WILL BREAK THE BOOT IMAGE!
So, Odin does not work, so you should try downloading the latest version of ODIN from the ODIN website.
Then download your firmware from Updato.com (Press OS Updates on the top of the webpage)
Type in your model number and it should come out with results.
Press the right firmware and the country (I'm assuming you live in the US so choose XAR if you have it unlocked. If it is locked then it would be SPRINT or something like that. Reply back if you need help finding that.)
Download it (takes about 5 minutes for me)
Turn off your device and go to Download Mode (Volume Down + Power Button + Home Button)
Open up ODIN on your PC and then plug in your device to the PC with a USB cord.
Wait until it says Device Added!
Press the AP Slot and find the firmware
After finding it, press OK and then press START on the ODIN application.
THERE! YOU ARE DONE! Your Device should take a few minutes and it should be back to original.
If you are having a problem, then reply back to me and I'll answer you preferably at 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM. (I go to school.)
Hope I helped!

Help getting into recovery mode (can only access download mode)

Hi,
My phone has TWRP installed and I have tried getting into recovery with vol up, home and power but I just get stuck on the regular boot screen (Samsung Galaxy S5 with Set Warranty Bit: Kernel). I have tried using Odin to flash TWRP in download mode (no Pit file error) which fails. I can't get my device to show up in adb or fastboot. I can't enable USB debugging because my device won't boot.
The only mode I can get into is download mode (vol down, home and power). Is there any hope of getting into recovery or accessing my files from there?
I have read through countless threads and posts without finding a solution. I really appreciate any suggestions.

I don't have this variant but, your best bet is to post this question within the following Official TWRP thread for your device.

Hi,
That's not a good symptom.
Just to be sure:
Did you try installing full stock firmware from odin via download mode?
Does download mode confirm that your phone model is SM-G900T? Is that model in line with a label under the battery?

I tried installing TWRP with Odin, if I install stock firmware, will all my data be wiped? All I wanted was to get into TWRP to save the data.
Yes download mode confirms SM-G900T same as under battery.

The question is what happened before that your phone doesn't boot?
If a phone doesn't boot the basic way to fix it is to reflash it with stock firmware. It will not wipe your files in internal storage like pictures, downloads etc but it will most likely wipe your apps, settings, contacts, messages etc.
By the way what version of TWRP have you tried installing?

TWRP 3.2.1.
The thing is I'm not sure what happend because my screen broke, the phone was still working fine but I tried to reboot into recovery without a functional screen many times, perhaps some combination of buttons I pressed bricked it...

Try to falsh this firmware only file with TWRP and pit (use AP slot in Odin): https://mega.nz/#!XksGAThB!oQnTcnp7YHJfEfekbQMaihm2SGItBNMihPPfzQehUq4
You cannot brick the phone with just a buttons' pressing.
To say the truth, your story sounds like a memory failure and there's almost no chance to get your data.

Same error looks like (There is no PIT binary).
I see, well in any case, thank you very much for your help. Its bizarre because the phone was working fine as the screen was slowly breaking up until it finally went dark forever.
A bit late to the party, but I found my GS5 wouldn't go into recovery if the USB/Charge cable was plugged in.

If Odin is requiring the PIT file for the SM-G900T device, you can obtain it on the following link.
Downloads for : Samsung Galaxy S5 | AndroidFileHost.com | Download GApps, Roms, Kernels, Themes, Firmware and more. Free file hosting for all Android developers.
Download GApps, Roms, Kernels, Themes, Firmware, and more. Free file hosting for all Android developers.

The PIT file is the Partition Information Table that Odin uses for what goes into which partition from the Firmware.
I hope I had explained this okay via text.

TWRP on S7 without OEM unlock? (bricked phone)

I have a bricked S7 edge with data I need to recover - the factory software update failed.
I can get to download mode and recovery mode (wipe cache etc.) but the phone will not boot.
My first thought was to root and install TWRP so I could access the phones storage over USB, but I dont have the OEM unlock option enabled.
Do I have any other options?
I think the only solution is flash with odin
Flash it with odin
But....
When flashing choose CSC
not home csc
Are you sure I should flash CSC? doesnt that wipe all the data?
Home_CSC: Flash the firmware without wiping the data (if you just want to update the ROM)
CSC: Flash the firmware along with a complete wipe including data (mostly used in cases like bricked phones or Go-Back-To-Stock situations)
I tried to flash Home_CSC but it still wont boot.
It rebooted and "Installing System Update"
then "no command" with yellow exclamation mark.
Is it possible to enable OEM unlock from ADB? Or any other way without booting?
If I can flash TWRP I can download pictures etc. over USB. Then perform a full factory reset.

I tried that before but it doesn't work for me. my problem is after flashing, the phone is not able to initialize and boot. it keeps restarting, whether I flash only AP or all 4 of them, it passes and flashes successfully but then gets into endless rebooting....
Uhm if you have Twrp installed it actually activates MTP while inside it, so you can just grab your files from your computer
Edit : oh so you don't have twrp yet, sorry nvm im drunk

Download the latest firmware from sammobile for your model and put all files in odin. Use home csc if you don't want to wipe date. Should work without any probs.

I need to flash no verity opt encrypt with twrp to fix this :crying:
