Hey everyone, I had a chance to play with an A1/W88 smartwatch today and noticed that it pushed every notification except for pulsepoint, even after fiddling with the settings and using different bt notification apps in the appstore.
Does anyone know if the GT08, GT18, DZ09, or any of the other ones with stock or custom firmware will show PulsePoint app notifications?
Thanks!
So just an update, someone messaged me and said to try the Mediatek SmartDevice android app and I can confirm that it does push PulsePoint on the A1. I guess I need to try all of the apps and see which one I like best and which ones work or don't.
i am using the fundo app which seems to push everything as push msg correclty - i use the chinese version though, as the version on google play has half the features only.
link: http://ledong.boyu199.com/download/tjdsmart_app.apk (partially text on the smartphone apk is not translated too english, but i can live with that.)
edit: seems only to do allright with mtk2502 ... and is not installable along mediatek smartdevice or other apps like that.

Ok so I am no dummy. I have an LG G Watch on my LG G4. I am having a problem pairing *COMPLETELY* my Oukitel A28 with the MediaTek Smart app.
I tried this on the LG G4 and LG G2 (thinking because I have my LG G Watch/G4 might be causing the problem). I paired the phone. It is connected. It synced the contacts. I downloaded the App and went through the motions of selecting notification access and bla bla bla.
But the App never connects. All I see is "connecting..." I deleted the BT profile and tried to load this up multiple ways but all end in the same result.
The weird thing is calls and some things actually go through the watch. I can play music and make/take calls. But all of the other features like Messaging and stuff just says "Pair phone first".
I am not sure exactly what is going on. There are 2 A28 devices found on the phones. Both are paired. Seems I am missing something. I tried this on 2 phones with the same results.
Hi Player911,
I was in your same shoes just this morning but Google helped out.
You may follow the step-by-step guide for the watch at China Gadgets Reviews.
All the credit goes to Stefan Danut.:highfive:
After following these steps, I was able to explore 100% of the watch's functionalities. It is definitely one of the best clones out there.
Hope it helps.
Hi Kempest,
Can you post a link to the instructions you are referring to? I'm having the exact same problem with my A28.
Pairing the A28
Just got mine today (A28) and experienced the same problems.
Solution: Install an updated Mediatek App.
I found the update here: Google Chinagadgetsreviews. Search for A28 hands on first impressions. Sorry, but XDA won't let me post the link!

You can also download the latest version v.2015.07.06 of MediaTekSmartDevice.apk & speechengine.apk from here or from here (12 MB)
The "here" and "here" are links. I clicked on the second (using PC) and downloaded the newer App (RAR Format). Unzipped the RAR and then I copied it to my Android and installed.

Hi,
I have a problem installing the mediatek smart device apk on my oneplus running mokee rom. I was able to download the newest version but get a message "app not installed" every time I try installing it. Anyone having the same problem?
Thanks.
Clarification
After downloading the APK file, you must go to your downloads and run the file to install.
Cool suggestions. I just installed the app from the play store as the built in scanner barcode lead me to a chinese website where the Android version was not loading the page properly.
Kind of silly that the newest working app is out there but the play store has a broken non working version. One would think that would be high priority.
Clarification 2
I installed the PlayStore version first, only to find that it wouldn't function correctly. I used a PC to download the newer version, in zipped and transferred it to the Android. Once on the Android, I just had to execute the APK file. Note my instructions of 11/08/2015.
I have the oukitel a28 aswell, and stand alone i have to say its a pretty good watch for the price. BUT i cant get it to sync to healthkit on my iphone running ios 8.4, anyone else using this watch with iphone?, i can pair it as headset and notifications, but what i really bought it for was the health stats. Ive also read somewhere about some other sync app on the phone that would work with mediatek chip devices, but cant seem to find it again? suggestions please, i know about Mediatek smartdevice and Fundo wear, none of those will sync with ios healthkit..

Hello there, thanks for the suggestion, thats the QR-code link, have tried both fundo wear and the mediatek sync app, none of those sync the health stats, and fundo's servers are very slow and fail most of the times. Such a shame with the sync, when the watch seems great otherwise.
It tells me to install on phone but it's on my phone. How can I fix this someone else told me to download an older version of the app on app mirror I did but still no luck is there a certain one I need to download or is there another way around it?

Same here on LG urban 2nd edition
I think the watch app for Messenger isn't optimized for Android Wear 2.0 yet, as you know many apps were broken after the update where Google does not care at all.
try install facebook messenger version 122 on your phone and try again
The Facebook Messenger app on Wear is literally just a notification receiver, with conversation UI, and a nice little "Install on your phone now" screen. Found after doing some searching on Google that this behavior is common to the app.
I bought a Fire HD 8 to put on my wall and see who's at my door using the Ring app. To do so, I installed the Play Store on it, installed the Ring app, and that works. The issue I have with the app is that I don't get any notifications from it. I already looked at all notifications settings and the notifications aren't blocked for the app. I then tried to install IFTTT on the tablet, and created a rule to send notifications whenever something happen from Ring. It works on my other devices, but again nothing on this device. I then tried to install Facebook Messenger from the Play Store, and same thing no notifications. If I install it from the Amazon store it works.
Anyone else saw a similar issue?
Thanks!
I'm seeing the same thing on my 8th gen HD 8; no notifications. I've tried Ring and Hangouts, neither work on the HD 8 2018, but work fine on my HD 10. Has anyone figured this out?
Edit:. To be a bit more specific it seems only apps which get pushed a realtime notification to them like Ring does when it senses motion don't work. But apps that are pulling data like Gmail or my Nine email client, these notifications are working just fine.
I'm getting the same issue, anyone had any luck getting this to work?
Same issue for me too... Fire HD 10
I am receiving notifications on one fire 8 hd but on fire 7, I I don't. Both running same os.
Ring notifications are not compatible with HD fire tab
I've been working with Ring and this is their reply,
"Thank you for your follow up. At this time, I have investigated further on your behalf for this issue and found that your Amazon HD 8 Tablet is not compatible with all of our features. Our application is designed to operate on Android and iOS (iPhones). Many tablets are built with Android operating systems. However, your tablet being the Amazon Fire HD 8, it is designed and operates on FireOS made by Amazon.
This software is not completely compatible with our Ring app. Because we do not design our app for that platform, some of our features simply do not connect with the operating system. In this case, FireOS does not allow the Ring app to produce notifications to the main screen. We do apologize, this device will not function like iPhones and standard Android based tablets.
At this moment, I am sorry to advise, but notifications to the Amazon Fire HD 8 Tablet, or any other Amazon tablet, will not be completely compatible as they operate on FireOS.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know so I may assist you further.
Thank you for your time and for being one of our neighbors here at Ring! "
Just a quick update on what I found out. If I install Facebook Messenger from the Amazon store, then I do get notifications. As soon as it gets updated by the Google Play store, I stop receiving them. I'm not sure if it's really related or just having bad luck but I am curious to know if others that saw the same issue with Ring also have this behavior.

Not surprised as the different builds likely leverage native frameworks to assist with notifications. The four components used to secure basic Play Store functionality does constitute a full Google Play Services config.

Is there anything we can do to make push notifications work? I don't get any notifications from Play Store installed apps (ex: FB Messenger, Instagram, Pushbullet, etc).

Probably not as many apps (at least the varients installed from the Play Store) utilize Google Play Services for notifications. The GPS framework needs to be flashed which is all but impossible on a bootloader locked, unrooted device.

Boooo. Thanks though, for the reply and explanation.
I just realized I have this issue too, with no notifications from Hangouts, and sporadic notifications from Telegram X, until I open the actual app, and I am flooded with notifications. I have a suspicion that it has something to do with GCM/FCM (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and something about Fire OS not letting apps sit in the background to allow for push notifications. I read this article here that says that certain OEMs don't let apps run in the background and that muddles with the notifications. Can anyone get anywhere with this? I will try whitelisting apps in the hidden Battery Optimization menu that you have to launch with Activity Launcher by opening the Battery menu and then launching the Battery Optimization menu from that.

Hi, any update on how this worked for you? You mentioned you were going to try disabling battery optimization.
I have same issue. no notifications with app installed through Google Play Store.
Fire Tablet HD8 gen10
When I check the notifications, Fireos indicated the app has never issued any notifications.
Anyone found a solution?
My fire hd 10 (2021) does receive email and generates email notifications when screen is off. It will not receive google voice notifications though.
Can you configure ring to email a particular email address (probably different from your regular one) which is then checked on the tablet using push (imap). This doesn't fix the problem but does is a suitable work around. Use a distinct sound so you know it's something from ring.
To find a suspected issues on your Fire tablet by executing adb shell logcat
any fix to this yet? it's bumming me out since i bought a fire tablet specifically for gmail, discord, and other apps that needed notifs. and majority of those apps aren't even on the amazon app store.
Same here
Its hilarious that this works without problems on my Fire HD 10 2017. But its soooo slow, thats why i got a HD 10 2021 now. Just to see that gmail notifications are not working anymore. I wonder if it would work if i manually install the older gmail app version and google required apps from the 2017 instead using the latest ones for the 2021.
Google Calendar and Business Calendar Pro Notifications still work. But the Problem is Gmail.

Hello everyone. I am currently living in China. I wanna buy Ticwatch Pro, but here I can get only Chinese version with Chinese language. (no GPlay, no Google assistant, no English keyboard)
Most popular chat here is Wechat, so before buy global version it would be nice to check
DOES IT WORK ON GLOBAL VERSION?
AND IF YES, IS IT CAPABLE REPLY ON MESSAGES THERE?
So, guys, I'm asking for your help. Please let me know if you have Global version and you use Wechat on the watch.
If you never used Wechat, If it's possible for you, can you download Wechat and try it. You can write me to check. My Wechat 13162747693
I'd really appreciate for your help.
If you have any suggestion you also can write me on email [email protected]
Thanks for your time and have a good day.
I'm on ticwatch pro usa version, wechat is not supported, you can't find it in the watch's playstore.

Thanks for your answer. I checked a lot about this situation. I found out that you can use Wechat if you have it on your phone. After connection, Watch automatically install Wechat and it works fine.
Opposite for Alipay. You can find it at app store, but it shows, that you can't install it, because it's not support in your region.
Can u try please to find Alipay at watch store and install it? No need register account, just install and open app. If no problem with it, I'll buy it.
Thanks a lot.

Nope, I have wechat on my phone and it doesn't install any wechat app on my watch, in fact, it doesn't even show wechat's notifications (probably a bug, I don't know). But I'm on the English wechat, not sure if the Chinese one will have more options.
EDIT: Correction, wechat does show up in "Apps on your phone" list on the watch if you have it installed on your phone.
As for Alipay, you can find it in playstore but it says it is incompatible and will not install.
Here's a thread with the Pixel watch APKs and build.prop - anyone want to look at the Fitbit related apps and see if they'll run on non Pixel watches? I'm picking up a Wear 3 watch soon to try, currently Skagen Gen 6 is still on WOS2, it won't even install them.
Sure it would be nice if someone could port this app. I 've heard that it has very good sleep tracking.
I've used bugjaeger to install the Fitbit APK from the dump on my galaxy watch 5. The app works. Unfortunately it won't let you sign into your Fitbit account. It says unsupported device when you try to sign in.
Thats the main problem. I dont thing it is usefull without login.

Agreed. Since I can already track my steps with Samsung health it's probably just draining my battery by having it installed. Someone that knows more than I do would have to figure out how to trick the app to think the device is a pixel watch. I'm not sure if editing build props is still a think but even if it is it would probably break more than it fixes to change it
Hope that google adds fitbit sleeptracking on google fit or release fitbit for all devises with full features. Then I will desamsung the watch 4..
I could try to decompile the apk and see if there's a list of supported devices, if it's that simple and not a cloud check then maybe we could do it
This would be great....any progress?
