Dear mxp users there are many other ROMs available for our device except but the Chinese ROMs.Flyme os is there for mxp but it doesn't have volte. I'm not a developer but I would like to try porting miui for our device instead of waiting for someone to port someday. I am a newbie and if anyone is interested in this porting then we can work together and make this port.
The similar phone next to Mi4i that has the same CPU(SD615) of our mxp is micromax yu yureka plus.It also has the same resolution and the ROM has volte. This is the reason why I chose yu yueka plus over Mi4i.
The custom ROM that has volte and Chinese ROM for yu yureka plus is in the link below,
https://forum.xda-developers.com/yu...chrom-miui-8-marshmallow-yureka-t3609071/amp/
I tried porting it today but it failed.
I request you guys to help me with this porting process.
The base ROM I used for porting is
Spectrum MM Volte
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-play/development/rom-spetrum-mm-volte-t3462690/amp/
Also tell me whether this port is applicable for our device.
Thankyou.
I'm not a developer myself, but I would love to see MIUI ported to our device. Would definitely go out testing it.

yu yureka would fail since it has a 64bit architecture where as this device has a 32 bit one. You're better off trying with Mi4i since the architecture is the same. But I suggest you do it the using the patch rom method since porting rom from another device can get really messy.
Here is a guide: http://en.miui.com/thread-9630-1-1.html
Note: It is not an easy and quick process. You're have to learn about resolving rejects. I tried doing it once, there were a ton of rejects. I resolved around half of them until I grew tired of doing so. So I gave up on it completely, so just a heads up. You need to have a lot of patience.

Are you sure that either of the devices is 32-bit?
Coz the site says both the devices have 64-bit architecture.

Yes of course. If you know what you're doing. Even if you fail to preserve VoLTE, you could always create a patch.

The SoC on this device is 64 bit but the firmware is 32 bit because Motorola is super retarded whereas the YU device has firmware which is also 64 bit. It's really hard to port a natively 32 bit device to 64 bit.

Hey guys I started working on porting process and was able to solve few rejects but not all. I would like to get some suggestions that which ROM would be best suited to get less rejects while porting.
Hi guys today I managed to make the zip file(miui 8 lux) and was able to flash it but can't get past boot. Could someone help me with this? I'll upload the zip later this day and you are most welcome to edit and make this working.

Because I'm bored most of the times, I decided that I will try to port the cm for our p9 lite. First of all, I wanna say that I'm not a developer and my experiences with porting aren't too big (i only ported some roms from moto g to moto g 4g version and cm11 to unbranded chinese tablet). So my question is guys, do you think that it's worth trying? I read that it's pretty hard to make custom rom for devices that have chipsets like kirin, mediatek etc... But since Huawei released their kernel sources for this device I thought that it isn't a bad idea
What do you think?
there are a few guys on p8 lite forum that are trying for a while now...i think it's just to hard and we don't have experienced devs to work on our device

I would love to see CM on this device.
It is pretty popular as well, so maybe we will see a build one day.
If somebody understands chinese, I bet it is worth to keep an eye out on their forums
Maybe it is also worth to observe the progress on the P9...

I looked on the chinese forums too (our p9 lite is named huawei g9 in china) but there are only threads about twrp recovery and roms that are based on stock. I'm now taking my time to learn how cm and the other stuff works so i will try to report some progress soon hopefully

We have kernel source code, and we can start building cm13,
But first we need a device tree.
My knowledge is limited to build ROMs from source, and yes i have kernel source code and cm13, but i need device tree and I don't have time to build it from scratch

But we can use a device tree from p8 lite which has similar chipset (kirin 620) and then modifiy it. Correct me if i'm wrong

As far as I know p9 lite has kirin 650 SoC, after some quick research i found that these two are different from many points... Of course you can try it but they aren't many chances of success.
Update:
I have done more research and someone was able to build and update kernel from that source. So we have a short start. At least we know that kernel source is ok

Yeah, I don't have the device but I may be able to help you out whenever I finish CM13, since then I'll have more time. By the way, don't be too excited about the kernel sources, We also have the p8 lite kernel source but many stuff is missing.
Emm,is it a bad idea to make a sort of a chat room for those working on CM for the P9 Lite?
It would go much faster if several people worked on it together instead of working separately, right?
So far I took the P8Lite device and vendor trees, replaced the blobs/sensitive stuff with the ones from the P9 Lite and edited the config files.
I tried to make the -eng build(of course,to be able to logcat broken things),yet the build info wouldn't mention the full build name in the "CM_VERSION=" section. I must've missed something I can't locate no matter how hard I try.
I also tried to build the kernel first, but it asked for the cyanogenmod_hi6250_defconfig in /arch/arm64/configs. I then "added" it(improvised by creating a copy of the stock defconfig and just renaming it),and then the build procedure asked for "hisi_cm_hi6250_debug_defconfig" in /arch/arm/configs,and I have no clue on how to get that one.
This is the first time I tried to do a thing like this, but I wanted to try,and sharing information(even the ones which appear to be useless) might help someone...
I will sync the improvized device and vendor trees when I get back home(Sunday),hopefully it will be at least a bit helpful to everyone.
It is most likely that you guys will keep ignoring me,but we surely can make it go faster if we work together.

I use Hangouts to communicate with my fellow rom builders/dev.
Hangouts is pretty good for chat groups, and is easy to establish/use.
I also asked one excellent dev for help when he gets the time.
So,theoretically,we have a decent number of capable people for this endevour.
My Hangouts mail is [email protected].
Anyone who is interested in exchanging information can freely talk to me.

I may join if you like me to, but if you are focused on CM, delete vendor.mk, I completely rebuilt it to work on CM, you can't add such a high amount of blobs.
What I may suggest, is to fork the kernel (of your device) and the P8LiteDev tree, and use it as a base, but remove the blobs from vendor.mk
It would be also a good idea to deodex your rom and upload it somewhere.

Yes,I want xperia rom on our kenzo (redmi note 3)
Don't we already have xperia rom?? XOSP??
Check it out in dev section.
And the porting of touchwiz will also be appreciated....
No matter how many support this, it is not possible now
It was possible before back in 2013 but not anymore
Its not just for kenzo, you wont see any HTC rom or samsung rom (Keep aside the touchwiz rom, there's not even a port for touchwiz launcher or any of the UI elements or apps as of now) for any device unless someone has too much time to try the impossible

Hi, I've tried a few ROM for my Kate but none of them have the "switcher", that means the possibility to schedule the automatic switch off at xx hours and the following switch on at yy hours. It could be an interesting feature to include in a ROM. Maybe some have it, but Im not aware. If you know, please suggest me.
Before i download a rom of op3 with my 90kb/s net. I need some instructions.
I'm thinking to port a rom from oneplus 3, since OP2 and OP3 have same screen res and both are arm64 so it shouldn't be that complicated, right?.
1: is it okay to port a rom from OP3 to OP2?
2 How many of you have ported any rom? Does it really works?
3: Do i have to ask permission from the owner to port or i can give credits to him and link to his Original thread?
I've some more questions but not coming in my mind, hope that my above questions get answered so i may think to port a rom from op3 to op2.
Thanks.

Take cm oneplus2 as a base rom
Take any cm rom u want to port(port)
Now delet app, framework, priv app, media, font from base rom
Copy all this folder from port to ur base rom folder
2. Copy lib and bin from port to stock but remember dont replace it .(means only copy xtraa files from port or keep base rom libs as it is)
3.replace storagelist.xml from base rom to port rom framework which u copied in base( framework res apk)
4.zipp ur base again and try to flash

Best way to start is dualbooting linux on your PC and following a guide on how to compile rom.
this here should be just fine https://raw.githubusercontent.com/nathanchance/Android-Tools/master/Guides/Building_AOSP.txt
just download the source of the ROM you want to compile. [The source is around ~20GB so be patient]
PM me if you hit a deadend

Thanks buddy, but i can't do this unless I get a new stable high speed net. 20gb with my current speed will take me around 4 days and if sometime the net went down then again ill have to download the whole file. I will try to make request to my dad about this.
Hello everyone, the Paranoid Android (AOSPA) team has released their much awaited nougat 7.1.2 build for a handful of devices. Is it possible for the developers to port the rom to our Moto G4 Plus? If so, when can we expect to receive an official AOSPA rom for our device i.e Moto G4 Plus? Thanks in advance to the developers.
Athene is a pretty popular choice around ROMing. (LineageOS has 20795 installs on Athene) I would at least expect an unofficial build made by someone. Let's just hope they release an official build for Athene.
I have come to know that the team officially doesn't provide support for too many devices except Oneplus, Oppo, Pixel and the Nexus ones. So the chance of getting an official build is less. So in that case we have to look for an unofficial build.
Just wondering is there any update on Aospa for athene, official or unofficial?
:good:
Maybe this mean something. I dont know.

hi guys , i wonder if any one out there is interested in making lineage OS for the galaxy j5 prime variants, its been a while since it was released and i'm so disappointed from it not having that much attention by the custom ROM's developers.
please if any one is working on a new ROM contact me if you need a beta tester or any kind of help.

What do you mean disappointed that custom ROM devs haven't done lineage???
Lineage is available for nearly all devices now.
Just because nobody has the time for j5 prime doesn't mean that the devs aren't working on it for other devices.
It's not there fault they are just supporting different devices.
If it is that much of trouble then you might want to think about just changing device
