Hi IAM using OnePlus 5 .I have unlocked it and using custom rom for quite some time .I was wondering what is best combination of rom and kernel to get the best benchmark score along with a stable rom .battery is not an issue
There is no best combination, these threads usually get shut down....
For me I'd stick with stock but each person has different needs and requirements.

Not a slagging of match about which custom rom is best as devs spend hour's cooking and testing roms for us. Just want people to share what rom they're using and why. It might be useful if we mention the very things that attract us to the various roms. This will help new users to pin point a rom if they prefer the same things. For me what matters apart from anything else is a rom and kernel that is blazing fast and I don't care at all about the battbNot a slagging of match about which custom rom is best. Just want people to share what lollipop custom rom they're using and why. It might be useful if we mention the very things that attract us to the various lollipop roms, for instance am on cataclysmic due to the smart radio mostly which is the main reason am attracted to cataclysmic and code blue kernel, because this combination offers me the best performance. I have previously used franco kernel, but since it hasn't been updated for a while, code blue is the way for me battery. I am still new to s6 edge so cannot share much yet but once I have found a rom and kernel combination that gives me the power and fluidity I require will then share.
Im using the renegade rom because it has some features that my original G925P stock rom doesnt like smart manager. I cant use it on my phone without flashing a rom. And It has funny/cool on/off boot animations.

Well i no more use cm. Rather i use stock rom. It is stable and we can get all features with xposed and other apps.
I have tried the following
Resurrection remix
Android Ice cold project
CM13
Bliss pop
Liquid smooth
For me CM13 was the most stable but it certainly was not the fastest, event tho in some conditions it performed well, and is the rom that I have had the most experience with. The other roms I listed above were quicker but they were a bit more unstable than cm13 but not to the point of unusable.
And finally I have been testing a new rom called exodus and my experience with this, since the past week is wow, it is the fastest rom that I have come across in terms of bootup time and shutdown, including overall performance when using my galaxy s5, however even tho there hasn't been much in a way of apps crashing I do get the odd lag now and again which is not consistent, but I can see this rom will always continue to improve.
There is another rom that I like to try out and it's called aokp as that claims to have good performance, however i'm not sure of the stability of this.
You should check out the xda channel on youtube, there are quite a few reviews for custom roms that are even available on our device.
Best rom for balance of performance and battery life?
Lineage os official.
useless question, flash yourself. Different useage, different results.
Stock 8.1.
I flashed at least 5 ROMS in past few days. So far Stock + Mint kernel gave best battery/performance balance.
Favorite for my case would be Liquid Remix as it has more customization and battery life is somewhat close to Stock, and a bit snappier than Stock.
It all depends on your usage and what you want.
Go and try the ROMs, we can't help you much by telling what is the best, because there is no best, all ROMs all different and offer different things.
Stock.

- Stock + Mint kernel
- LineageOS + Projectk kernel (governor: relaxed)
- AEX - full stock (kernel stock)
? ? ?
Simple.... stock, is that not why you have AndroidOne?
Pixel Experience + Void Kernal - strong 6+ hrs SOT
There is never a real answer to this question. every rom has its own pros and cons. best way is to flash and try different roms to find out which one fits best for your needs. to me (at least for now) Resurrection remix + Francokernel is doing the best.
In my experience the best SOT I got was with stock rom. Custom roms and kernels do not give me as good battery as stock rom. Anyone experienced differently? If so, please share Rom+kernel combo.
I would like to know too. But custom kernels as of this date for our devices doesnt seem to live up to their purpose in giving performance and better battery. Most of them only gives you better idle battery management but has problems like slow charging etc. Damn i wish we have huge number of devs like in RN5pro
I am searching for some custom ROM which can be used as a daily driver as this is my primary phone.
Hope our developer bring it
Android Pie ROM is better then stock in my experience. If you want otg support it isn't for you.
AEX 5.8
AEX 5.8 + Darkonah Kernel v3 = Very good battery backup and butter smooth. Also, you can try PBH Kernel
I tried crdroid rom
I was getting better sot than stock
But it was not as smooth after i installed so many apps
As of now it is the best rom and dev is also very active in fixing bugs

Wait for Android p. Hope everything will be fixed in that.
Just bought my mi a2. Have to say its buttery smooth but as history says, i never stick to the stock software for more than a week. As there is no objecticely best kernel and/or rom out there, what i want to know is the most popular configuration being used for this phone. What kernel and rom are yall using and how well does it hold up in terms of battery life and performance?
Also how many of you have tried the new pie resurrection remix? Is it worth trying right now?
Havoc stock

Hex kernel + pixel experience
And resurrection remix has a pure stock look that kind of bothers me. I've also heard of some other problems on the ROM thread.
