In my A1 , i have three preinstalled apps.
See attached screenshot.
2 or them are by Xiaomi. But what damn is Caping and why is It here??
This app is not a system app but also It is not visible in the app list.
Please note that these apps are the most old installations on the phone. The following apps in installation date order are all known apps from PlayStore.
This may help..

Since yesterday I've been getting ads that pop up over any and every app when I start them.
I've had this happen from an app I installed once before and uninstalling fixed it, but this time I tried uninstalling everything I've installed or updated in the past 2 weeks but they still keep popping up.
And none of the ad detectors can find these type of ads so does anyone know how to track the source?
Also this is the app I had and removed months ago that gave same problems https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=game.gles.rubikcube
Some apps running in the background causes this. Uninstall all the free app or cracked apps from your phone
I've uninstalled everything from 2 weeks before it started, and it isn't just cracked apps that cause it like you'll see by looking at the comments of the app I linked to.
So I need a way to find the app or process to find it.

You can try this:
- Install Shortcut Master app.
- Open Menu > Capture Shortcut. Here you can select 'Manually capture' and 'Auto capture', which one is suitable for you.
That way you can capture the shortcut when the ads appear. You can also know which app that the ads belong to.
i have the same problem, when i unlock th phone appear chrome window with ads, or suddenly a window over any aplication that i use inthat moment.
dam.
Samsung is adding support for ad blocking to its browser app on Android.

Hi,
I need an app to debloat the newest bobcatrom as he didn't debloat it.
I did use an app called xda assistant but that was taken off play store a few months ago.
I have since tried many apps from play store but they are all useless as apps still show on my phone after I try to uninstall them.
Does anyone know of a good app where I can remove system apps with ?
Nvm I found the best app ever.
Care to share this app name?
Hi guys.
I thought it was strange not having updates for a while on the Store, so today I checked with a friend of mine and I saw that he had a lot of updates this morning, same apps that I use on my phone.
So I checked manually if there was any updates, but I had no items in the list:
As you can see, my list is completely empty (it says "No update avaible" or whatever... in italian), so I manually searched for an updated app. I tried Instagram and:
The app can be updated... how odd ("Aggiorna" is the italian for "Update"). So I've updated it and it appeared in the list of the up-to-date apps right after.
I erased the data of every single Google app, Google Play Services too, but I had no results.
How can I fix this? It's a pretty annoying thing.
Hi,
Did you use microG?
I have the same behavior with microG.
Or maybe you've restored apps with something like Titanium?
Once you updated the app on play store, future updates for this particular app will be shown on the update tab.
You made all the proper actions to try solving it, I guess.
In Titanium Backup, there's an option for linking apps to the Play Store. Maybe it can help.

I've just noticed that we have some hidden apps installed on our "pure" Android device. "Caping" is one such app that you won't be able to find anywhere on the phone, even in the system apps, but when you go to the Play store, you can see that you can uninstall that app.
I've noticed the app using the "Action launcher" because it displays it in the app drawer, but the stock Launcher 3 doesn't...
I've been searching for it for a while and just thought that it installed and uninstalled with the Action launcher as bloat, but today I've received a notification from the "Capting" app and that's how I realized that the app is still present and went ahead and deleted the app via notification long press...
I've seen in the Mi A1 forum that Xiaomi installs this app silently on that phone so probably the same happened to us.
There may be more of these hidden, silent apps and if you know of any more, please report here. For everyone else not wanting these hidden apps lurking around their device, feel free to remove it.
I don't see the app using action launcher..
TKDN regulations Working flawless on our country ? ?
not on my phone. I guess it's just Xiaomi automatic installation on the first run. I always clean out every app except the remote since that's the only one I used.
And for others, that Caping app only available on Indonesia region afaik.

I'm from Europe and that's what was weird to me...
Caping (and Babe) is one of the prerequisite apps that every vendor/OEM must have installed on their devices in order to bypass the Indonesian regulation, and since some of Xiaomi devices rom is compiled in their HQ/Server in Indonesia (see about phone, on the compilation date you'll notice the time is in WIB which means Waktu Indonesia Barat or Western Indonesian Time) i guess these apps is pretty much baked on the system.

wait you're serious? are the government want to poison us with stupid and click bait news all day?
This is crazy. Luckily I don't have any installed on my phone...
Just to update. There are a couple of other Xiaomi apps installed on the device not displayed in the app drawer of the stock launcher (Launcher 3) such as the Xiaomi Store and others. I've found them using Lawnchair launcher. Thought this might be useful information for anyone wanting a bloat free phone.
I got my phone from an online Chinese store and its a Global version and it has the Caping app. Uninstalled it already. Any more apps that we should know that shouldn't be there in the first place?

You can uninstall Mi Store and Mi Community also. These three apks are hidden for those who live in India.
Also, there are few telemetry apps that you guys should disable via adb:
/system/app/TelemetryService/TelemetryService.apk=com.qualcomm.qti.haven.telemetry.service
/system/app/Spock/Spock.apk=com.miui.spock

I don't have the store and community installed, just the file manager and remote. Kept the remote and replaced the file manager with Files Go.
What are the functions of the telemetry and spock? Is there a way to remove them without using adb?
Found that Google Indic, Korean and Pinyin Keyboard were installed as well.
Hello,
My apologies if this is a LAME question but I have about a weeks experience on Oreo on this new S8. The phone is a "U1" unlocked variant with NO carrier bloatware if that means anything.
It originally came with an early version of Oreo and I started to install apps and such. Got a prompt to install a newer Oreo update so I let it do so overnight. The version installed is 8.0.0 Samsung Experience 9.0, the last Oreo update before Pie. The next day I noticed that some of the apps that used to be in the apps drawer were now missing in action!
Thanks,
Steve
I finally figured out how to "unhide" the system apps and found them still alive and well in the settings /apps menu. So this prompts the generic question - How does one add or remove what apps show up in the app drawer? There is currently one that I would like to remove and a couple that I would like to add. So far internet searching has been unproductive.

In general
Setting - apps
3 dot menu ( top right ) will bring up additional menu items ( including shows systems apps ).
Tapping on app will bring up app Info.
3rd party apps can be uninstall.
System apps can't being uninstall ( some can be disabled ).
Generally any app that you install will show up in apps menu. Uninstalled apps will be removed from apps menu.

Thanks, but I already figured this much out. Here are a couple of more specific examples.
I used to have either downloads / download manager accessible in the app drawer before the software update. Now they show as hidden System Apps in app manager but are no longer showing in the app drawer and can't be launched from the settings / apps (or at least I can't figure out how). Tapping on the app doesn't launch it only goes into the particular app settings/properties. Same thing for the My Files app. All of this happened after a system software update. Samsung thought that they had to clean up the UI some more... UUGGGHHHH!
I accidentally hit the Galaxy Themes app from one of the settings screens and didn't find anything useful that couldn't live without. But now the Galaxy Themes app shows up in my app drawer! I don't need it, will probably never use it, and don't want it there. I guess that I could just hide it but would rather it not be there in the first place.
Thanks,
Steve

Good day.
There should be a toggle in the options of the galaxy theme app that shows or hides the icon on the app drawer. Check there.
