Xposed for Nougat on Tablet Z4

Since official Xposed for Nougat is finally available https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3034811, here some instructions for Tablet Z4:
I successfully installed it on SGP771 (32.3.A.2.33, Android 7.0). Installation the standard way, flash zip (xposed-v88-sdk24-arm64.zip in my case), reboot, install XposedInstaller_3.1.2.apk).
The first boot takes really long (5 Minutes?)! It spends a lot of time at the white-curved-lines boot animation. Just be patient!
No bootloops, crashes, error messages. Framework is active.
The only problems I experience is that some modules don't seem to work. (Play Store Changelog, Secure Settings, You Tube Background Playback). They are enabled, no warnings. They just don't do anything. Others are working (AndroPlusMod).
Secure Settings is complaining that it cannot detect root access. But it's present (SuperSu 2.82) and working in other apps.
Anyone having similar experience or solutions?

i have installed xposed on lineage os. Working fine.
I tried gravitybox, and there is also things that did not work.

What version of expsed are you using? it doesn't work on my Z4 tablet with Lineage. thanks

Xposed won't enable in PureFusionOS (13NOV2017)

I finally found a ROM for this GD phone that fully connects to my Bluetooth deck. Yay! All other ROMs besides stock and PureNexus would say "Connected (no phone). However Xposed is not working. The Xposed Installer (v3.14) says that Xposed version 89 is installed, but not active. This is my first time trying Xposed on Nougat. I've used Xposed on all previous Android versions (since the inception of Xposed). Never had this issue. The installer says to check the logs. When I tried it says that it can't read the log (no such file or directory). I'm so sick of effing with this phone. I'm still using my OnePlus One because I can't find a ROM that has fully working Bluetooth that isn't the crappy stock ROM or PureNexus (PureNexus is unfinished and abandoned). Somebody, anybody...how the eff do I get Xposed to work?
What I did:
-Full wipe (dalvik, system, data, cache)
-Flash latest PureFusion (13NOV2017)
-Flash SuperSu v2.82
-Flash OpenGapps (pico)
-First boot
-Install Xposed installer v3.14
-Reboot to recovery
-Flash Xposed v89
I've also tried using the install option from within the installer. No joy. Changed SuperSu options to be more compatible and less safe (namespace speration, trust system user, enable su during boot). No Joy.
I'm about to smash this phone with a hammer. Finally found a ROM that sorts Bluetooth and now Xposed doesn't work. Next time I'll check XDA first before buying a phone to check the current status of development.
Edit: I'd like to avoid using Magisk if possible. I can't remember which root apps, but there are some that don't work with Magisk (last I checked).
Edit 2: Tried the following without success. Exact same results. A msg on the status screen saying Xposed is installed but not active:
-Unity version of Xposed
-Magisk 14.0 + systemless Xposed framework
-Probably something else I'm forgetting
I created the missing log file and gave it the appropriate permissions but nothing ever got written to it. I suppose I could do a logcat but I can't be bothered. If Xposed doesn't work out of the box for this particular ROM I'm not going any further with it. I posted this question in the ROM thread as well.

Try Magisk 14.0, install the module, download the modified apk from the module download tab, install the app, see if it works

that is the only thing that i've thought about. Stock is the other way around, normal method works but topjohnwu's module doesn't. But Magisk xposed worked on every custom ROM I've used.

I would have ultimately tried Magisk anyways if all else failed. I will try later. Probably tomorrow. If it works I'll call it solved and you get the prize.

Which are the apps that don't work with Magisk?

@Doc Ames: it's probably just the ROM you've chosen. I've tried lots of Lineage/AOSP ROMs for the A7, Xposed has worked flawlessly in all of them.
My setup:
Vertex Carbide
Hellsgate EAS kernel, with data and cache formatted as F2FS
Phh's Superuser, for root
Busybox 1.27.2 by YashadSaraf
Xposed v89 official
No GApps, except MicroG and Play Store
I try to avoid Magisk, it's a nice concept, but systemless is more trouble than it's worth. Magisk has caused me tons of issues. I've tried it off and on for months but I keep switching back to good ol reliable Phh. I stopped using SuperSU ever since it was bought by an Asian (Chinese?) company.

I don't remember. If for some reason I have to use Magisk maybe I can find replacement apps.

Thank you for the suggestion. The issue is that there is no other ROM for the A7 (save PureNexus and stock ROMs) that will properly connect to my Bluetooth deck. I was trying to pursue a solution to the Bluetooth issue with custom ROMs for the A7 but it affects such a small number of users that nobody seems to think it's an issue. I tried the ROM you are using and had the above mentioned Bluetooth issue. I've tried a ton of ROMs. I'd rather get a fix to the Bluetooth issue so I can use whatever ROM I want. However, I posted a question about my Bluetooth issue and everybody just gave me the whole, "It's working on my machine. Must be your deck."

@Doc Ames: Well sorry to know that you're essentially forced to used a specific rom just to get your Bluetooth deck working. I don't use Bluetooth for anything but transferring files, that's worked in every ROM I've tried. But I have had issues in the past where a certain device would work on one ROM but not on another. It could be a ROM issue, or maybe an issue with the Bluetooth device you're using. Maybe a combo of both. I'm not a dev so there's nothing I can do except be sympathetic. Maybe you can elevate your issue with A7 devs so they can maybe look into whether there are underlying Bluetooth issues in their ROMs that need to be resolved. If the deck didn't cost too much, you might want to look into selling it and getting a more known, compatible deck that works with most ROMs. I guess it all just depends on how much it's worth to you to be able to run whatever ROM you want without worrying about whether your deck will work.

If you haven't yet, give the UNITY Xposed package (by @ahrion) a try. On my G3 I had nothing but troubles trying to get Xposed and ParanoidAndroid working. With UNITY everything came together to my surprise.
Also just flashed it tonight on the Axon B32 stock. Far as other ROMs go I've used both unofficial and official Xposed on various ROMs like VertexOS and Dark ROM without issue.
I too stay away from Magisk so I can't speak to any of the systemless installers.

Can't pass safetyney

Hi guys, i've installed Aosp Extended ROM but my safetynet is broken, i can't install any safetynet module from Magisk, from TWRP show "error 1 can't mount /system" but system is already mounted...
Any help? Thanks

safety net has nothing to do with the ROM, but with Magisk and root. Maybe your Magisk installation isn't correctly configured ( Do not install Xposed Modules )
Re-flash the ROM and Reinstall latest Magisk (16.4).

What's the problem with xposed? I had it in my previous phone and it passed safetynet with no issues.

Not sure but some of the modules break safety net. I've read it multiple times on different threads, people complaining wbout it.

Ok, I'll try disabling the modules I have to see if that fixes the issue. I mostly have it to use GravityBox and Youtube Background Playback. The first one because I use the volume keys to skip songs (I'm using the stock rom) and the other one because Youtube vanced doesn't seem to install properly. Do you know of alternatives to any of those?

Did you disable YouTube before + remove the playstore updates of YouTube too then install Vanced.
I don't use xposed at all as my ROM has everything i need, i just use a couple of Magisk modules ( font, vanced, iOS11 emojies and MiAi camera lag fix ). If nothing is broken, don't try and fix it

Where did that come from? I'm not trying to "fix" anything. All I want is to add is song skipping with the volume keys (something that should've been added to stock android by now). I tried what you said with vanced but it's still not working.

Alternative to Vanced youtube is "OGYoutube" (https://plusmods.com/ogyoutube) - installed as a standard app, so you can keep official updated Youtube (best of both worlds). I don't know about functional alternative to Gravitybox though, so you can't get rid of Xposed (the only module which breaks Safetynet by design).
Edit: if you use Gravitybox only for media control with volume keys, you might have luck with this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=frinky.volumeKeys.music.controller&hl=en. I didn't like it too much, but it's worth trying if Safetynet is your priority.
Edit2: Automation via Tasker is an option as well, but it was pain in the a** to use it on my previous phone.. https://www.xda-developers.com/tasker-pro-skip-music-tracks-using-volume-keys/
Edit3: Just realized that Button mapper pro (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=flar2.homebutton&hl=en) offers this option as well and seems to be working fine. I guess that I can disable Xposed now, thank you for creating this topic

Magisk manager crashing when searching for a module

Title. What can I do? I never had this problem before so if somebody can help me it would be appreciated

Problem with magisk manager and was fixed with the latest magisk canary builds. You can install this: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/topjohnwu/magisk_files/master/canary_builds/app-full-debug.apk to fix the issue, though more bugs may be encountered, it's a canary build afterall

There was a new update released not long after and it fixed it
Edit: it was probably because I reinstalled magisk manager

After upgrading to v6, the phone reboots once a day (always when placed).
After installing Youtube vanced (Magisk repo) there is no application anywhere ...

you need to remove youtube (or just remove the updates of youtube) to install vanced, and when you said "use stock rom" did you mean to tell that to us? or just poor english

Uninstall Youtube updates. Also disable auto update from playstore!

I removed, I turned off but did not install it. I will try to reinstall Magisk (sorry, my poor english)

If the issue still isnt fixed you should make a post about it, and if it is fixed then make a post about it and your solution

I removed the Magisk and did not turn on the phone, always reloaded. Only with patched_boot goes to fix this?

Netflix on this phone

Has anyone else had issues getting Netflix on their phone? Even if I sideload it it states its not compatible with my device. Any ideas?

Magisk and edxposed installed. Have hidden magisk and edxposed from the app but still no joy. Contacted Netflix support and of course they told me to contact my device manufacturer

you have issues with netflix cause you are rooted. you need to make sure your phone passes safteynet. and make sure you hide netflix if that still dont work.
I dont know if it works on this phone but I search modules for fingerprint in the searchbar it should be the first thing that pops up to download you need to download a busybox module too and in google store download a terminal after all installed you need to type PROPS in terminal and fallow the instructions if the phone is not on there its not compatible
I am waiting for my unlock code so I can get my phone rooted so I not 100% sure but that is what fixed it on my moto g7 power.

It's probably edexposed that is tripping safetynet. Even with that xposed module, it's not a true safetynet hide. I am rooted and have Netflix working (from the play store). But I can pass safetynet. Try installing safetynet check app and see if it passes...don't check from magisk. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scottyab.safetynet.sample

Had to remove edxposed as well as use props. Magisk triggers safetynet currently. Everything's working good now. Thanks guys.
