Hello, why not looking at the apps section https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/themes/google-camera-hdr-t3655215

I'm tying to figure out how to use the front camera for taking pictures. I can do the video stuff no problem, just not take pictures. Seems silly the native camera app would not offer this.
From what I read, there should be an option in qik to do this, but from the one I downloaded from the market, I'm not seeing this option. I'm running Frankenstein and have checked through all the various mod paqs and there is no qik app in there that may have this feature enabled. What am I missing?

Inside the camera app... Click the Top left icon on the screen and select Self-Shot.
Is that what you are looking for?
Perfect thanks so much! Guess the internet docs on this not working through the camera app are wrong.
I would like to know if there are any solutions out there to prevent the stock camera from flipping/reversing photos taken with the front facing camera. I know there are alternative camera apps that have the option enabled however I prefer the stock camera app due to its quality and functionality with the 6P
Just wondering if there were any mods, apps, editing tricks or work arounds to prevent android from reversing photos taken with the front facing camera.. Its pretty inconvenient to manually edit and flip them myself.
So you want them to stay backwards? Mine shows them as mirrored or backwards in the viewfinder, but are flipped to be "normal" when I view the photo afterwards.

Correct! I would like them as they appear in the view finder.

I hate it too. I saw the image I capture in my view finder only to look at it on my laptop and I'm like ummmmmm what's this

I have this too on my Nexus 6P and Oneplus One, really hate it. There is no option to disable it, so I would like to have an (root needing) app or a xposed module to fix this. Anyone?
Nexus 6P selfie reverse
Hello Everyone, I am facing trouble with selfie (Nexus 6P), the images are in mirrored mode. I tried to reverse the photos, but no luck. I hope everyone got the settings already, just reiterating. When I am taking selfie with my Nexus 6P. The image showing as reverse but when I goto gallery it is storing as original( Not mirrored). So I am picking the photos from gallery and sending my dear ones.
Thank you so much

Hello everyone!
I've recently bought a new camera for my Nexus 4. No problem with the installation but when I start the camera app, the image is upside down.
The rotation of the screens works well, so I don't think it's a gyroscopic problem.
It's like I didn't put the camera on the good way, but I did! (I reopened my Nexus, it was the only way possible)
Do anyone have an idea? Is it possible to reset the parametre of the camera?
I've tried:
- take picture with another app
- record video
- disable auto rotate / enable auto rotate
Thank you very much for any help!!
PS: I can't post image but I have some on imgur..
Could you take a screenshot in the camera app.

Hey,
Does anyone know if it is possible to do with the default camera app or any other camera APK?
It's those pictures that also record a few seconds of each picture. I need do some of that stuff at work and can't find anything.
Like the "Cinemagraph" thing. Or that Motion Picture on Pixel 2
Thanks for help anyway!

Use the mod-ed Google Camera app. It has the motion foto option and it come activated in the app by default after you install it: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/themes/google-camera-hdr-t3655215

Read the post man! It's a simple .apk No need for custom recovery, root. Download the .apk and install it like any other .apk

It really isn't a good replacement.
Does anyone else have a problem with video recording? No matter which app I use the camera hunts for focus occasionally resulting in the frame zooming in and out, or out and in, slightly. I can't manage to get more than 3/5 seconds of rock solid framing?
I have the same issue (LineageOS 14.1) and came here to ask which app I should use to avoid this problem!
This video shows the refocusing really well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZCcEp3oD4aY

Do you use the stock ROM or a custom ROM like I do?
Maybe ZTE will repair your phone?

It looks like your camera is refocussing a lot more frequently than mine!
I'm running the Stock ROM and camera app at the moment. I don't think it's a hardware problem as the camera does not refocuss when taking a still photo.
I can't have ZTE look at it as there's no service center in the UK (and I bought it from Gearbest).

You are right! :good: I changed the 'touch focus duration' in the LOS camera app from '0s' to 'infinite' and now the focus does only change if I click elsewhere!
There should a similar setting in the stock camera app!

I can't find such a setting in the stock camera app!
But I did find it in the Open Camera app!

Can you upload a screenshot of the video settings?
You mean 'Open Camera' (Camera App) - https://f-droid.org/app/net.sourceforge.opencamera? Which setting you changed? I had no refocussing without changing any setting.

Using Open Camera has fixed the problem for me!
The stock camera app only seems to have fixed focus settings for the stills camera!

To answer myself: The small icons in the menu represent the different focus modes! :good:

Yes it took a while to find the settings! The continuous autofocus setting ("c") causes my Mini to hunt for focus every 2/3 seconds. All the other settings work as expected with no hunting.
Doh! I've just found that you can lock focus and exposure using the Stock camera app! You just need to long press on the target circle after you have selected the object you want to focus on.
https://youtu.be/Un0FJCYKTcM?t=216
Once locked you can choose another object to focus another and it will lock focus on that without having to long press again.
