Few questions about lg v20 H910 with magisk and rom - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hi people, two days ago i've rooted my lg v20 H910 and after few problems with the modem partition i resolved it. Now i have the superv20 1.1 rom and mk2000 1.5 kernel. I want install magisk 16 instaed of supersu but i can't flash it. During the flash it says that is impossible to flash why the the boot image is already patched. I tried also to flash arise viper4android but it didn't work...
How can i risolve it?
My phone is unlocked and i'm in 10t

If my memory serves me correctly in order to flash magisk you have to be on a stock boot image, as far as arise check their thread for support, good luck.

You need to uninstall SuperSU, and flash an unmodified mk2000 kernel. Then you can flash Magisk

Use Magisk with Nougat

Hey everyone.
I try to install magisk on a European moto g4 (nougat, unlocked bootloader, stock). When I flashed magisk, the phone doesn't start. I can only boot into Fastboot. When I flash the stock boot.img there, the phone starts as normal. How can I flash magisk? Thanks in advance.
Magisk With Nougat
Using Custom ROM or Stock?? Resurrection Remix 5.8.2-20170414 offers magisk in itself.. U must try it out!
If you are in stock, install the ElementalX kernel

You can't install magisk over the stock kernel. You have to flash TWRP first. I recommend twrp 3.1... by oadam11 You'll find it here https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...7-1-1-ground-zero-roms-validus-tesla-t3553036 in the 2. post of the first page.
After that, you can install elementalx-kernel.
Then you're ready to install magisk.
It worked, thanks for the help everyone.

Boot.img messed up (i think)

I flashed magMa ux 8.5 rom for my n900t and i saw the Magisk systemless root and i got intrested! So i installed Magisk v12 with SuperSU but i found there was conflict with it so i wanted Magisk v12 with MagiskSU!
I tried dirty flashing the Magisk v12 + MagiskSU over the Magisk V12 + SuperSU! Which caused (im guessing here) caused my boot.img to get corrupted or damaged because it installs into ramdisk!
I tried a nandroid back to my old rom which, worked, wiped in twrp to reflash the rom, which also worked, but installing the magisk to the ramdisk and what it does ends up failing!
I can still boot into my system with root but it causes some conflicts with apps, such as snapchat as it thinks i have magisk still but i only have supersu! And i cannot full unroot from SuperSU app because, i think the boot.img is corrupted!
Would flashing a stock boot.img fix my problems, then reflashing rom again? Or would i have to reflash the whole stock samsung rom and things?
Im on Note 3 N900T! If reflashing the boot.img would work could someone provide a link to download the N900T!!! boot.img?
Thanks
What you call boot.img is the kernel.
Stock kernel won't work with a MM port like magma.
I advise you to do a full wipe from twrp then flash magma.
Before that, refer to the rom's thread for extensive informations about Magisk and systemless root.

Bootloop after flashing magisk v14 in twrp

Hi to all reading this, I have a moto g4 with an unlocked bootloader and the latest twrp installed. I recently tried downloading Magisk v14 and flashed it in twrp. This put my phone in a bootloop (which is now fixed) I now want to attempt flashing magisk again but I also don't want have any problems. What are the possible reasons for it not working?

XT1643 hardbricks everytime i root stock rom.

[root]Facing issues when i root XT1643 indian variant stock ROM and flash super su and the phone hard bricks everytime.
Steps i followed
#1 Flashed TWRP in fastboot and still i can see TWRP still as default Recovery after booting many times.
#2 downloaded right version of SuperSu zip file from official website and flashed through TWRP.
#3 Bingo! Theres my phone hardbricked every time.
#4 flashed the bootloader with Blankflash file to unbrick.
The surprising thing i got is that when i flash with custom ROM and i root with the same file in the same manner then everything works fine but never works in stock ROM.
Thanks for helping.
to do root in rom stock you need a modified kernel, before installing magisk or supersu, install ElementalX
if you use SuperSu (I particularly recommend Magisk), you need to enable SYSTEMLESS, follow this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mo...de-root-moto-g4-plus-supersu-android-t3587918

Feeling stoopid... [Magsk-patched boot + TWRP]

Hey guys,
So I grabbed the latest factory image, patched boot with Magisk, and flashed it to the phone. Works great.
But now I want to use TWRP. I can't figure out how to get TWRP on this device.
It seems there's no recovery partition, so I can't use fastboot flash recovery twrp.img. I know I can flash arter97's kernel, which has TWRP baked-in, but I'm trying to figure out how to do it with the stock-Magisk-patched kernel.
Can someone please hit me with a clue-stick?

I'm on the PSMR3-RC002 version. Which version of Arter97 kernel works and is stable? Also, does this effect the Magisk root availability, or do I need to run Magisk patch on Arter's Kernel? I had used R12 in the past, prior to the new Magisk Boot-patch scheme, and also lost TWRP afterwards. I haven't gone and tried to reflash Arter97-R12 since I didn't want to bork anything and couldn't find an definitive answer.

@MoPhoMike,
I use arter kernel v12.0, seems to be as stable as can be, no hiccups or issues with 12 for me and have been running 12 for about a year.
Flash arter kernel to boot "fastboot flash boot arterxxx.img" xxx is for whichever version you flash or how you named the img.
Once the arter kernel is flashed, i then boot into TWRP. Either from bootloader on your phone, select recovery or use fastboot commands.
Then you can flash magisk from TWRP.
.
NOTE, i have some posts where folks say to boot up the phone after flashing arter kernel, then reboot to recovery and flash magisk. I do it the way i noted above and never had issues.
****No need to patch Magisk that I'm aware of****
Hope this helps...
The new version of Magisk doesn't install via recovery, but from Magisk Manager, and in doing so, it patches the boot.img from the app, then reboots, which then removes TWRP. I may just try to flash arter12 and see what happens. It sucks, because I don't have TWRP installed, and therefore can't make a nandroid backup.
