Hi.
I was trying to restore a backup from TWRP on my CM 12.1, but not only it didn't work but it also left my SM-G900F bricked.
I've tried wiping everything, flashing custom and stock ROMs via Odin and TWRP.
Everytime I try to do any of those things I get an error: "Failed to mount '/efs' (Invalid argument)".
I've tried to use adb, but it doesn't see my phone.
Please help :crying:
Edit:
I was able to flash stock rom, but I still get an error "Failed to mount '/efs' (Invalid argument)" everytime I try to flash custom ROM.
I tried adb commands:
adb shell
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
mount -w -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p3
reboot
but they don't help.

Tried using ODIN to flash back to original TW MM and flashed a custom rom again? Or try to go stock, flash TWRP and try your nandroid recovery again without EFS checked. I leave that **** aloneeeeeeee. That and /modem or whatever its mount point is...

I'm afraid he did not.
Because mmcblk0p3 is SBL partition and he would not have Odin mode if managed to format it
Only debrick image may help here (speaking about the phone, of course).
P.S. EFS partition is mmcblk0p12 in G900F.

I've been using CM11 nightly on my i9500 and probably due to a lot of **** I'd done to this phone recently it has become quite unstable so I decided to wipe everything and do a clean installation when I remembered there's a way to enlarge internal storage up to 11.8G by flashing PIT, BL, AP, CP, CSC from I9500ZCUCMG1.
And I tried and it failed. So I only flashed PIT. Then I tried to flash BL and I see "SW Rev. Invalid magic string." on my phone. I googled it and it seems to be that Odin doesn't allow flashing an older version of bootloader. So I tried to flash I9500ZCUGNH4 but still fails with messages like "sboot.bin", "NAND write start fail".
Then I tried to flash a regular PIT provided here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2269941
Then I tried to flash I9500ZCUGNH4 again, and this time it works. However when the device try to boot, it stuck at logo. I tried to go into recovery and it says:
E:failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
can't mount '/data'(Invalid argument)
E:failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
can't mount '/data'(Invalid argument)
Now I ran out of ideas and came here for help. Help plz. Thx in advance. :crying:
Almost forgot, I did a FULL 14.6G backup (probably all partitions) using method from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/general/guide-phone-backup-unlock-root-t1420351
Is there any way to restore it now?
This all happened when my phone got drained then when i charged it and tried to open it, it got on bootloop. So i flashed another rom wiped all partitions then rebooted to twrp then this errors are present
Failed to mount /data (invalid argument)
Failed to mount /system (invalid argument)
Failed to mount /cache (invalid argument)
And in the twrp on install>select storage my internal storage shows 0mb.
Tried reverting back to stock rom but after i relock bootloader then flashed stock recovery it leads to usb logo, so i unlock bootloader again to see and access recovery and it directs me to twrp like i didnt flash anything
Need help or my phone is dead already. Thanks its my first thread btw

My Zenfone ZE550KL not boot CustomROM is stuck in boot animation, and TWRP get error: failed to mount /factory (invalid argument)
My solved error failed to mount /persist (invalid argument) using commands: fastboot erase persist and fastboot flash persist.img but not solve error em /factory :/

Hi I successfully installed TWRP 3.3.1-0 on my new Mi 9T, but I couldn' install any Custom ROM like xiaomi.eu_multi_HMK20MI9T_20.3.12_v11-10.
It was hanging in the remi boot loop the whole time.
I have tried to solve it, but now I can't get any further, I get the following errors displayed:
Could not mount /data and unable to find crypto footer.
Failed to mount '/data' (No such file or directory)
Unable to recreate /data/media folder.
Updating partions details...
Failed to mount '/data' (No such file or directory)
...done
Unable to mount storage
Failed to mount '/data' (No such file or directory)
Full SELinux support is present.
Unable to mount /data/media/TWRP/.twrps
MTP Enabled
Failed to mount '/data' (No suchfile or directory)
Does anyone have any idea what I can do?
Hello,
You didn't "Format Data" in TWRP before flashing custom ROM right? You MUST do that.
Now, you may need to flash Official Global ROM via fastboot/Mi Flash and try again...
Don't relock your bootloader!
