xfinity mobile with oneplus 5. Do phone work ? - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Xfinity mobile plan is good to me , but I must buy the phone. If I use sim card oneplus 5 , do oneplus 5 work ?

Xfinity Mobile uses the Verizon network. You could probably make calls and texts but data will only be 3G if you get any data at all.

Can HSDPA + VOIP be used instead of mobile plan?

I'm in Australia and there are a few HSDPA providers of Mobile internet (a sim card that u can stick in a usb stick to get the web on ur laptop)
Do you need any special software to use these sim cards in a blackstone to access HSDPA, and possibly use VOIP instead over the internet? or is it probably not worth it.
I'd really like to ditch my overpriced vodafone mobile. $4 per megabyte of data seems like alot.
If you want to use data with Vodafone you have to add a plan to your mobile sim as if you use data with out a plan it cost the world, have to mortgage house!!!
If you do that you could use Voip and if HSDPA isn't available you still can use the phone as normal.
Not sure about voip software as I haven't used voip with HSDPA only Skype with WiFi.
You're right the data plans are slightly better but they're still excessive!
I was wondering if I could ditch the mobile part and get a pure data plan (vodafone calls it mobile broadband) like on this page (targeted at laptops) and use it in my phone instead?

Oneplus 2 Chinese version question!

Can someone of you with Chinese version test dual SIM functionality in case
while you are actively using the internet traffic (3G mobile data) on the SIM1
are you able to receive calls on SIM2?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Yep, can work whichever Sim has mobile data active. When you receive a call, the mobile data switches off, and turns automatically on after call ended. If you have issues, it could be your network operator. In China the dual Sim is switching properly (after calling, both Sims connect to network). In EU and USA its different. If I'm calling from sim1, Sim2 will be disconnected, and after sim1 call finished, sometimes Sim2 won't reconnect. Also, OP 2001 has one IMEI, while 2003 and 2005 has 2 IMEI's.

Red Pocket mobile or other Verizon reseller (prepaid)

Tried using the Red Pocket mobile CDMA (Verizon) prepaid plan. Could not get voice or data to work. Only text messages. Tech support was of little value. Anyone have success using Red Pocket CDMA plan with this phone?
I was using a different Verizon MVNO and Verizon was the only network out of the big four that gave me a good signal consistently. However, my mobile data wasn't working initially which I didn't notice for a couple days because I was always connected to WiFi and the signal bars showed a strong signal. The APN that auto loaded was for Verizon rather than the MVNO. Since the APN wasn't editable tech support at the MVNO sent the correct settings to my phone. After I rebooted everything worked perfectly.

I'm using Redpocket with LTE Verizon. It works fine with the PH-1. Did you purchase their LTE card? Activation was easy enough and they ported my number in 20 minutes after the line was active

The one I purchased is the Verizon CDMA sim with the description below:
1 x 30 Day- 500 Minutes, 500 Texts & [email protected] LTE
Phone showed Verizon wireless on the display. Did you need to adjust any APN settings to get it to work? Tech support told me it's the phone and would not troubleshoot further.
I am on Straight Talk, and had the same issue. After about 30 minutes, the APN auto-loaded on my device. However, when I flashed custom ROMs, the APN loaded immediately. Maybe try a different ROM and see if that pushes the APN through.

GSM Unlocked Phone (Using CDMA SIM) - Calls/Texts Work, but Mobile Data Does Not

Hi,
I recently bought a GSM Unlocked SM-G950F phone. For the heck of it, I put in my Total Wireless (CDMA/Verizon) SIM card. I wasn't expecting it to work, but to my surprise, calls and texts did work. However, the mobile data did NOT work. My question is this: Should the mobile data also work? Is there something I can do to get it working? Or, is it completely normal/expected that calls/texts would work in this situation but mobile data would not? In other words, is this simply how a CDMA SIM works in a GSM unlocked phone??? I guess I expected the calls/texts would also NOT work; therefore I am very confused.
Thanks in advance!

Boost Mobile phone - stuck on Roaming

Have a 6 month old S10+ with Boost Mobile and it is stuck on Roaming. Every now and then Network Operators will show "BoostMobile" but usually it shows "Roaming". Worked with Boost Mobile Level 2 support and they did not know what to do. Wife has the same phone and service and does not have this issue.
Purchased both phones from the same place. Local Boost Mobile store replaced the SIM card and that did not help.
While in Roaming everything works on the phone except for the Hotspot. A device can connect to the phone Hotspot but there is no DNS resolution.
Exhausted every option I can think of. Anybody have something else I can try?
