ARCore and adoptable storage - Xiaomi Mi A1 Questions & Answers

Hi guys,
I have 2 questions :
First I'd like to try out the new Google app based on ARCore called Justaline but it seems to require the newest version of ARCore which I couldn't find in the forums. Does any of you managed to make it work on our Mi A1?
Second I have a 64GB sd card used as adoptable storage (mixed storage) but I'd like to swap to a bigger SD card without crippling my system. Is there a way to move the data as is to the new SD card?
I found this thread but it doesn't seem to be the perfect solution :

Thanks for your help !

Apps to SD Card

Can Apps Installed on Redme Note 2 Prime Phone Transferred to SD Card to Save Internal Phone Memory .
Also does the Phone Support UHS (Ultra High Speed) SD Cards.
Android doesn't allow bootable data (apps) in external storage until 6.0 Marshmallow. We will have to wait until Xiaomi decides to upgrade MIUI to M (which I heard may be in 2016 Q1, correct me if I'm worng). Just get the 32GB version and you'll be fine.
Install Xposed Framework and use Xposed module "Obb on SD"
With the obb data on sdcard, the 16GB storage should be enough for a large amount of apps simultaneously installed.
Use "Folder mount" application to save up more space if there are specific large folders in the internal memory made by apps.
No and yes to your first and second question respectively.
Although I wouldn't use an SD card for apps in the first place, mainly because they're much slower than internal storage, even UHS ones.
With xposed use xinternalsd.
Would work in CM?
Maybe you can try foldermount that had been mention by @hasaan6545. It works for me too..

Honor 7 - move to SD - upgrade to 6 solve the probelm

Hi, hello all
I'm new there, so ff there was a similar topic, forgive me.
I bought a few days ago Honor 7 with 16GB intermal memory. I have also 32GB microSD card.
I read before buying that I can move all the applications on the SD card, but some I can't move - for example "Allegro" - its same as eBuy, but polish, and Facebook.
I'm also set SD card qua default memory, but I can't move all apps, and new install on internal memory.
It is beyond the root a way to move all the applications on the SD?
I read that update to android M allows you to extend the internal memory of the SD card, but is it true?
How to solve this problem?
Greetings,
Adam
*Some* apps cannot be moved to SD card, even if the phone has the feature. Its just like that - they can be installed in the internal memory only. This is true for any brand / model of android phones.
For the apps that are not movable to sd - you would see the "move to sd card" button grayed out in the system>app settings.
Upgrading Honor 7 to MM is not going to solve the problem. (As a matter of fact, i installed a beta update of MM (b304 firmware) that has been provided as a link in another thread in XDA - and NOW I AM NOT ABLE TO MOVE ANY APP TO SD CARD. Even worse, all my older apps installed in the sd card have 'disappeared'.
So ... cheer up, you are in a much better position than me ...lol.
Hope that helps.
Meanwhile, enjoy the marvelous phone - Honor 7
There is an app 'Link2SD', which I use on Honor7 with Lollipop and is quite flexible in what can be moved, or linked to the SD card. Not saying its the answer, but may do what you are wanting achieve. The developer has a section on XDA forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=919326

It's possible to use micro SD card as internal storage without encryption ?

Hi all,
I'm new here and I've read a lot of posts regards new android MM, but whitout a answer.
I've got now a new galaxy j5 2016 that become with MM preinstalled.
Until yesterday I used Lollipop on other smartphone.
Now the problem is :
It's possible to use micro SD card as internal storage without encryption into my new galaxy J5 2016 as I did with my old smartphone with lollipop?
I know how to root the device and I know that I can use sd card as internal storage, but I don't want to encrypt, because in case of breaking the smartphone, I will lost my photo and documents.(backup is never up to date!).
Thanks for answers..
Best regards
Not sure if you already found the answer to your question but it is generally not possible to mount the SD card as internal storage without encrypting the sd card, let me know if you found any other workaround for this issue.

Possible to install programs to sd card ?

Samsung Galaxy Tab A SM -T550, 8 inch, 16 GB storage, Android Marshmallow.
Any way I can install programs to a sd card instead ?
Thank you.
I have found a partial solution.
I cannot directly install apps to my sd card, but I can move the installed apps to my sd card.
The method to move/transfer installed apps to sd card is from this link :

In these boards there is a patch to enable adoptable storage for Marshmallow, on the other hand if you are rooted and you partition your SD card to have two primary partitions (fat&ext2/4) than you can use an app similar to Apps2sd for those needs as well, which I do on my tablet, that is not Marshmallow, otherwise I would use the adoptable storage patch. Just look around in the boards.
Edit; here's the link for the adoptable storage patch

The adaptable storage method works on rooted, stock Nougat as well. Just got my tablet with 7.0 already on it and was able to get it done.

Can't use SD card as adoptable storage on Redmi 7A

I'm having problems trying to get my Redmi 7A to use my sd card as internal storage, but I swear these jerks makes it as hard as possible to do so
My MIUI version is 12.0.1 global, and i only have the 16 GB version. I've tried a bunch of methods to get an sd card as adoptable storage :
- Activity launcher, it just shows a big block of "other" that I can't remove and have to reset my phone
- Some SD card formatting, corrupts the sd card alongside the activity launcher problems
- Tried hidden settings, needs root
- Tried rooting, bricks the phone
- Tried installing a custom ROM, bricks the phone again
If there's any other way to get adoptable storage please let me know. In the future I may just buy a phone from another manufacturer
