So i updated to oreo and forgot that ill get my nav bar back with no real way of removing it.
So its that simple, im going back to nougat until someone updates 0pt.navbar.apk to work on 8.*. Also Carrier lable came back
I found a file i made called "Working22feb.ab" i did this while i was playing around with the system ui tuner and got the black screen ui stopped a few times so took a backup via adb as a safe measure. if i restore this it wont change the OS of the phone i dont think as its not a full devices backup (like its not backups the android os and everything)
Any help ?
Note: Not rooted as im over losing the security net and not having snapchat work properly
Flash naugat with odin again.Simply
and the notification persistent of install new update oreo, is possible to turn off?

Hey guys,
So I have a rooted phone, running everything stock (no ROM) with Franco Kernel running. I want to update to 4.3 and I heard manual updates are the only way to do it since OTA removes root. I basically want to find a way to install the update without having to back everything up. I've spent the last two days trying to find a good way to create a Nandroid backup and store it on my computer or the cloud but nothing seems to work. So is there a way for me to get the update without having to erase everything on my phone? Maybe installing a ROM that has the update built into it? Thanks in advance!
Hey Guys,
I have a question.
i used to have the Galaxy Note 3 , rooted it and did alot with it. Now i have a Note 4 and i want to root it. But my problem is this :
When i am going to root it can i also update my firmware manually without making backup? cause i am gonna stay on Stock Touchwizz. I want to Root it and if For example Android 5.0 comes out i want to update it without losing data or without resetting the whole phone.
Cause without root you can just accept your update through OTA or through Kies without losing any data and you dont need to master reset the phone nor make any backup. I want this method rooted through ODIN also, and is it possible. Cause on my note 3 i always made a backup and than needed to flash the new firmware and than restore backup.
help me out with step by step method if it possible
I'm sorry, but otas aren't clean either my friend. Conuntless people experience weird battery drain, force closes etc following an ota.
With in days of the 5.0 update hitting note 4s, there will be hoards of people wanting too know how they can go back to 4.4.4... Mark my words.
The fact that it includes a move from dalvik to art is only going to make the whole process more troublesome than it usually is.
Just individually back up your data through the specific apps if they have the capability, and uses sms and call back up apps if you really need to keep that stuff too, and just clean install yourself for the smother experience

Thanks for the tip that it will be dalvik to art.
didnt knew about that.
So lets say for example if a 4.4.5 comes out and i am rooted on 4.4.4 stock samsung, is it possible to download the stock 4.4.5 and flash it through Odin without losing data?
normally i used to make backups through Titanium and restore it. But i am bit tired of flashing a new stock and than restore backup.

If you root you still can upgrade your note to android 5.0 via odin but it will not eraser your data, only lost root acces. I have try in my tab long time ago , the day honeycomb upgrade to ics so you dont have to worry
Cheer.
I have a 4.4.4 ROM and I'm getting a 5.0 OTA upgrade notification today after I factory reset. I don't see the same things on Titanium Backup I used to freeze to prevent the OTA, they must be different on 4.4.4. I can't find anything on Google. Can anyone tell me what to freeze? I don't want this update to ruin everything.
No one knows? I think I have the Google Edition 4.4.4 rom that was posted on the rom section. I had to freeze google play services which is not ideal. I believe I also lost some power menu options such as hot reboot (something like that, not sure), I know there were more there. That's not as important thougg, the phone is fine, still rooted, still on that rom, I just don't want it to update. I had MDL (if that's what the less locked down version was called).
I have the Verizon SGP561 running Android 4.4.2 rooted with PhilZ Touch & CWM & TWRP installed. I just received notice of an OS update. Has anyone else receive this and know what it is? I hesitate to take any updates and don't want to lose root.
OK--- Just found this to answer one of the questions --
OTA update 23.0.1.E.0.208 also includes "optimized touch sensitivity," better performance for users who encrypt their tablet, improved support for TalkBack (Google's accessibility service for the visually impaired), and minor UI tweaks to fonts, icons, and layouts. None of it is particularly crucial, and no , it doesn't include an update to Android: Verizon's version of the Tablet Z2 is running the same build of Android 4.4 that is was back in July. But it's hard to be too miffed about that, since the Wi-Fi version of the Tablet Z2 hasn't been upgraded to Lollipop, either.
Now the question is will I lose root if I apply it...
I would also like to know if we would lose root with this update.

i took the plunge and tried it...
i used the supersu and used survival mode and installed as a system app
I am STILL ROOTED
Thanks! Except I've tried 4 times to update and keep getting failed. Using stock recovery so not sure what's going on.

I didn't change my recovery, I only rooted it yesterday and then 20min later enabled su as system app and then survival mode and applied update. No issues here
So far running good, however when I go into settings and tick on airplane mode it actually doesn't goto airplane mode. The only way I can get air plane mode is by holding the power button and selecting air plane mode.
Not sure if this is a error with root or glitch with the new update.
We now have a reboot option tho (not like I have ever needed it on this awesome tab)
On mine the update fails. Says "There was a problem with the update..." As I said, I am on 4.4.2 using NUTs dual recovery and root. I install SuperSu as a system app .
It makes me disappointed I spent money on the sixaxis controller on play store to not figure out how it works for the Z2 tablet a month prior to this update.
Maybe I could use it on other non-Sony devices?
Since my system update thing doesn't work, is there another way of acquiring and applying this update?

You can use this software to download the ftf file and flash it manually using flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...perifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142/ (will lose data and root)
Update: I've found a way to update the latest version without losing root and posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/xpe...et-verizon-t3054700/post59440416#post59440416
Any idea on a lollipop update compatible with the sgp561?
I have an icon stuck in my task bar prompting me to install the Lollipop update as well as regularly showing me full screen prompts when I unlock the screen that I have to keep cancelling. I don't want to upgrade to Lollipop at the moment as the phone is working fine as is and there's a couple of apps I use regularly that don't work with Lollipop so I'm trying to find how to cancel this prompt as it's getting irritating.
I found some advice that suggested disabling notifications on the Google Play Services would work but it hasn't, I've also tried disabling notifications on the app that is generating the alerts but all options for it are greyed out. The phone is a stock N910F that isn't rooted.
Thanks,
John
The only solution I know of is:
1) update
2) downgrade
3) disable the automatic update feature
Thanks for the reply, I woke up yesterday morning to find the phone had upgraded itself to Lollipop (I'm not sure if there's a timeout on the prompts or I did it in my sleep) so will just have to make do now.
John
Since you have to do a factory reset when downgrading, be sure to backup your data.
