Hi fellow stock rom user! What version of google camera do you use?

Im stuck on finding out what is the best gcam version for our phone. (4GB 64GB) so maybe you can share what version do you use.

Red and Bold one is stable but if you want new features then try most upper one.

I use this one from CStark. It works flawlessly and I have tried a ton of other Gcam mods from different developers but I always come back to this one

I didn't install the magisk module since I have already enabled the Camera2API with adb, but I've installed the apk and everything works!
Have you modded it specifically for this device?

The best Port almost, Very few crashes!

most stable version i used ? thanks ? keep it updated

Slow motion not working.
Video recording UHD4K not working.
Video recording 1080p 60fps is over zoomed.
Night sight working but viewfinder is not working, green screen.
Frontal camera detected as 5 MP only.

Should I be rooted?
If I install the magisk module, do I alter system partition? Or maybe lose OTA?

If you have time, convert to 6X and flash Carbon PIE ROM. Latest version is two days old, and Pixel 3 gcam port is stable, no crashes. In general this ROM is much better than stock, battery life is solid. Compared to stock Pie ROM, 4K recording and slow motion do not work in Gcam, but I am using Snap Cam for 4K recording with EIS. In summary Carbon PIE is best ROM so far for A2/6X, you have some customization compared to stock and have double tap to wake, and most importat for me, Pixel 3 camera port is working like a charm

@Mr.Nice.ba, to much hustle for another variant of pie rom, and I must say, I am very pleased how stock PIE works for now, maybe I'm not demanding user after all...but thanx for proposal.

Is it possible to have the 20 mp front on google camera? what i understand is that is a camera2api limitation, am i alright?
Anyway, thanks op for the mod, i really like it. Just a question, is it possible to get a raw file with night sight? i don't know if its possible with pixel 3, just asking. Again, thank u :highfive:

I just installed the camera.apk and the camera crashes right away. Do I need to install the magisk module?
UPDATE..I FLASHED THE MAGISK MODULE WOOOORRRKKINNGG.
Night sight is working and viewfinder also working for me. Haven't tested anything else. Just received Mi A2 today and already sideloaded pie and installed magisk and enabled gcam.

almost all custom roms that I tried support gcam in my experience NB:camera2api must be enabled. for normal use I use Gcam 5.1 prebuilt in Superior OS(portrait works,video works,no green tint isssue)for night sight alone I use Gcam 6.1 by BSG.

welll...i dont know about night sight...if u need a rom as a daily driver...use Liquid remix 8.1 by diffr Build 12/10/18....
Pls Note Latest build having some bugs..so am sticking together with this build nd its Perfect...still no bugs and gcam portrait wrks fine (above mentioned link by op)

if you have a version installed already uninstall that one and install this one.

I am not the creator of the rom i am just sharing the rom Here on xda for other user's to get a taste of oreo
Its pre beta so some function dosent work including NFC, sound, camera, fingerprint is what I immediately noticed.
Flash through twrp 3.2.
After the flashing the rom mount the system and delete the uncrypt file in the path / system / bin /.
Then copy the file wlan.ko which you should have ready on the SD card on the path / system / lib / modules / and reboot.

Edit: found it, although there are warning of bricking the device.. i'll wait for some more reviews

The Chinese have a private qq group where they might have already fixed all the issues with the 8.0 ROM . The dev does not want to share with the rest idk why . I've been using this ROM as my daily driver for about a week now........ Surprisingly I prefer this ROM over the 7.1 mokee stable version audio is not a big problem for me as I use Bluetooth and for camera I just reboot! Using dualboot....

H2os oreo leave a lot to desire like sd card support & like u mentioned camera and sound but no doubt the performance, buttery smooth UI and battery backup is very good in this rom.

Wondering if you got any stable Oreo/Pie rom for Z11.. read somewhere that there is a new miui rom called miui 7 too for our device has been developed.

My bad, I meant Nougat based MIUI and I found that one on the suggested page though I flashed nitrogen os 7.1.1 first..
Performance and battery backup is good but there are bugs like lag in video playing and no audio systemwide.

Our device seems to be made for gcam))) sd835, good sony sensor modules, api level3. Almost all of them work this or that way. So your task is to choose a better variant for you.
