using TWRP 3.2.1-0
Steps I'm making:
1. full wipe
2. installing ROM (AOSiP-8.1-Official-oneplus2-20180313)
3. booting system
4. installing (open_gapps-arm64-8.1-micro-20180318)
What I tried for now:
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik / ART Cache
- wipe cache in Google apps
- waiting
- rebooting
- searching the web for solutions (nothing recent found)
[PROBLEM FIXED]
just skipped booting to system between installing rom and gapps...
Cheers,
Phil

reinstall OS?
So essentially I need to reinstall Lineage OS no reboot and just install GAPPS?
edit: I did just that and it works now, just hoping this fixes my WiFi issue I was having with CM13.
Worked for me thanks
worked for me too, thanks! (aosp official 5.7 for redmi 4x santoni)
Works for me too. Thank you so much.
I am using AICP 13.1 on my redmi 4x
Factory reset in TWRP did the same work. Not only cache/davlik. :good:
Fixed it!
Thanks! I installed Resurrection Remix OS on my Galaxy S5 (Android Oreo 8.1), booted and set it up, but when I went to install Gapps I also got this problem.
I followed your instructions. Flashed the ROM immediately followed by Gapps (ARM, Pico variant) without booting in between and it worked smoothly! Got the "first time setup" to show up and everything.
Thanks a lot! I'm looking to keep my trusty S5 alive for at least another year =D
I have a MOTO G2 XT1068... had the same problem and same solution. Accidentally booted phone after installing custom ROM (but before gapps) then went back to recovery and installed gapps. That got me stuck with the "google play services keeps stopping" problem when trying to start the phone. Then I saw this thread and redid it all, but made sure to install gapps immediately after installing custom rom and it worked great!
Thanks. Same issue and same solution with my Nexus 9 with
lineage-15.1-20180617-UNOFFICIAL-flounder
open_gapps-arm64-8.1-stock-20190105
Thanks for the tip.
Any other solutions

My Galaxy Tab has been running fine on Kang ICS milestone 4 for quite a few days, then I saw this thread here and decided to install other tablets' widget to my galaxy 10.1
And my tab crashed. It freezed for a while and automatically restarted, and every time when I unlocked it, it freezed, crashed and restarted again, and the same thing happened again and again, I just couldn't unlock my galaxy tab. So I had to re-install Kang Rom. Yes, I did wipe my datsa and caches, I did wipe dalvik cache before I installed the Rom. Everything works fine now, except for the home button. Nothing happen when I tap it. And there is no lock screen either, it goes direct to the launcher.
So, can some body please tell me how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated.

I've done it several times . I've tried to wipe anything I could. Data, cache, Dalvik data (no idea what it is thouh) and the home button still does not work
Btw, may I ask what did you do to cause this error to happen?
I've just re-flash rom one more time and it still doesnt work.
One more thing, after re-flashing I go to Settings, Apps and see this:

Despite the fact that I've wiped and formated everything I could in recovery mode, there are still traces of old apps left. I wonder why. Does it have anything to do with the dalvik cache? Someone please help. I'm so desperate now.
I reckon you'll just need to start from fresh, flash a stock ROM via Odin and start again.

Hi All,
Problem: Wifi is not switching on my Galaxy S4 (I9505). It's been grayed out and I'm unable to switch it on.
Actions taken: I've been researching and trying to resolve this problem non stop for nearly 24 hours. I've done the following:
- Upgraded my stock to CyanogenMod 11 since I (naively) thought it would rectify the wifi problem. (cm-11-20141008-SNAPSHOT-M11-jflte)
- Updated my modem to the latest one I could find (I9505XXUGNG2_MODEM)
- Installed the wifi fix (I9505XXUGNG8_WIFI_FIX)
- Tried a bunch of other suggestion (e.g. using sqlite to change some setting values.)
No sure what more I can do, and I'm starting to think it might be a hardware problem?
Are there any more suggestions? Or is there any way to debug it and find out if it's an hardware problem?
Appreciate any help I could get , coz this is driving me crazy!

Try downloading the latest version of your firmware on sammobile.
If it doesn't work, try installing a custom ROM, like "Imperium ROM". It should "repair" the issue.
"Imperium ROM" replaces the kernel (It should also fix this)
Thanks, will give Imperium ROM a try but doesn't Cyanogenmod also replace the kernel?
OK, I tried downloading the latest firmware - No Help
Also tried installing new kernel over the cyanogenmod kernel
- Tried Ktoon but it broke a few more things such as basic connectivity and did not help with the wifi issue (i.e. KT-SGS4-KK4.4-AOSP-INTL-07.12.2014)
- Currently running Alucard but the wifi issue still persist (i.e. Kernel-Alucard-V1.4ocm-[00-22]-[09-11]-AOSPV2-EUR-KK4.4-SGIV-PWR-CORE)
Haven't had a chance to try a Imperium ROM, since I needed my phone and didn't have sufficient time to wipe and reinstall all data and apps. Any other suggestions before flashing a completely new rom?
Revert to stock.
Flash stock rom twice
First time, let odin auto reboot and you configure your phone. Then go to download mode again
Second time flashing, uncheck auto reboot. Keep phone off for 5-10 minutes after flashing and then turn on.

Hey, couple days ago my non rooted oneplus 2 went to bricked i couldnt load it to os. After hours of googling and trying other unbrick methods i somehow installed hydrogen os instead of oxygen os, hydrogen os kept crashing and apps too. Then i removed it and tried to install oxygen os again via the normal recovery. Now i have wiped everything and installed twrp and tried to install new and old oxygen versions they just start flashing file 1 of 1 and stay there also it says no md5 file found. I tried like 10 times and waited an hour and nothing happened. Then i wiped everything AGAIN and dowloaded cyanogen mod 12.1 newest one and flashed it. It worked but had the same problem as hydrogen os all apps kept crashing and it was so bad to use i couldnt use the browser or anything. I just could write a text message. I have already contacted oneplus 2 support and waiting for respond but if someone here knows about phones more than me (im noob) i would realy appreciate your help. Sorry for my bad english.

I get this error invalid sparse file format at header magi..
Hey guys! A few weeks ago i've got a used galaxy S4 i9505 (it was always on stock rom.). I wanted to get rid of touchwiz, so i started to explore the forums, and tried as many custom roms as I can, but all of them has the same issue. Every rom I flashed (CM12.1/13, JDCT Optimized CM roms, Octo-M, SlimLP, MoKee AOSP, Dirty Unicorn, JDCT AOSP, Orion, GPE 5.0/5.1) suffers from battery drain because of the wi-fi. Here is a screenshot what i'm talking about.

}
Even after i turn on the airplane mode, the battery still draining, and the wi-fi is still "active".
I have no problem with the TW based rom (Stock/Imperium), so I don't think it is a hardware related issue.
Here is what i did before the screenshot.
-I was on the latest stock rom (HOL2)
-Flashed the lastest modem (just to be sure)
-Flashed TWRP 2.8.7.2 F2FS
-Did a full wipe (Dalvik/Cache/Data/Storage/Preload/System)
-Changed the cache and data to F2FS
-Flashed Optimized CM12.1
-Wipe Dalvik/Cache
-Flashed OpenGapps 5.1 Pico
-Wipe Dalvik/Cache
-Reboot, connected to my wi-fi, logged in to my google account
-Advanced wi-fi settings-> turned off always scanning, and set the Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep to Never.
-Turned off NFC
-Set mobile data to 2G
-Put my phone on the table and cheked it a few hours later
The result is up there, i didn't installed any mods (no xposed, no kernel, nothing), neither any app from playstore, and i did the same as above with every rom i tried (with the same result)
Please someone tell me, what am i doing wrong? Why is my phone won't go to deep sleep, even though i'm not using any 3rd party app. If someone need logcat or anything just let me know, i would do anything.
(Sorry for the grammatical errors, english is not my native language).
I had the same problem on CM 12.1 on my i9500.An app called power nap helped to fix the issue along with greenify(although i'm not too sure that greenify helped with the Wi-Fi issue or not).
I am in dire help with troubleshooting my Axon 7 (US variant).
Here's some quick info on what I have done with the phone.
-Unlocked bootloader
-Tried out the CM ROM, and then flashed a stock based ROM (wiped all the stuff I needed too)
-It's been working fine since then
Fast forward to today. I wanted to try out some more ROMs. I wiped what I was supposed to (Dalvik/Art, cache, data), flashed the ROM, set it up, everything worked fine. Only thing that didn't work was that it wasn't downloading my previous Play Store, so I rebooted a few times, didn't fix it, so I wiped the phone again and reinstalled the ROM. Now here's where things to get messed up.
-Booted into the ROM and no comms are working (ex. SIM data, WiFi)
-Phone kept rebooting roughly every minute
-After a few reboots, the right half of the screen would freeze
Wiped and reflashed a couple different ROMs, same exact things are happening. Okay, this is weird, so I restored my backup (I ticked to back up everything in TWRP), and the same things are happening in my backup now. It doesn't matter what ROM I try, if I wipe the SD card, or even format it, the same things keep happening. I have trying to troubleshoot for the last few hours myself with no success.
Does anybody know what's wrong and any way I can fix this?

Have you checked to see if you still have imei number. Sounds like you may have wiped/lost it.
Check about phone>status>imei should have one for each sim slot.
If you do still have both then factory reset, and flash drakken’s b29 update files the bootstack, etc then his stockish rom. Should get you back up and running
