Does anyone know if there are any Foxfi compatibility issues with Foxfi and the new update, software version MMB29M.G930VVRURAPI3?
Foxfi no longer works with the nougat beta.
However the usb/bluetooth seems to work. Just no wifi hotspot anymore.
Thanks for the reply but I wasn't asking about Nougat. I was wondering if the latest update for marshmallow works with Foxfi?

It does. I use it every day.

I can't seem to replicate it on my clean wiped phone but when I upgraded from Marshmallow to Nougat initially, foxfi worked great (AND no repeated warnings on boot about the VPN cert). After clean wipe on second nougat beta though, I couldn't get it passed the certificate installation check (though it looked like the certs were installed just fine). And now some time later, when I check the box it just says unsupported for my phone :/ Maybe foxfi can figure it out once we are out of beta. I also was somehow able to trick the hotspot feature in Android settings.. When I tapped away from the "you need a subscription" popup somehow the tether actually kicked on. I can't seem to replicate this now though

I'm out of the office today, anyone want to let me know if there's a new radio or bootloader?

Looks like bootloader is the same but there's a new radio, at least for Verizon.
ota received
So long and thanks for all the fish...
This is probably the last official update for our Nexus 6.

Worked fine for me. If you have modded your rom, then OTA will often fail.
I've been sideloading the OTA updates for months. Since Google made the check for updates function actually do something, thought I would go that route this time. It worked and immediately offered me an update. How can I verify that it's going to install NGI77B and not N6F27M? I'm on Verizon and currently on NGI55D.
I tried capturing a bug report and looking for the OTA link in the file but am not finding it. Maybe I should just sideload it.

I guess that if your Verizon sim is in it, the "right" ota will automatically be downloaded
Now that the final patch has been issued what & when would make you all move over to a custom rom?

T-mo users, looks like we will never get an automatic update. Have you side-loaded the latest 7.1.1? Any issues?

Using T-mobile network via Ting - no issues seen so far with the sideloaded Oct 2017 OTA update.

I bought N6 in October last year and have been using custom ROMs on it since day one.
First PureNexus and now currently DirtyUnicorns.
I plan on moving to LOS once nightlies start rolling out.
LOS == Lineage OS?

I was getting monthly security update notifications on my Nexus 6 while using Verizon, however that stopped since moving to T-Mobile in April/2017.
I'm staying stock for now, because it seems easiest to maintain Android Pay, Snapchat compatibility, etc.
Does anyone have a recommendation on which build to use if I sideload? Would that be "N6F27M" since the other October release states "Verizon" ?
EDIT: I went ahead and sideloaded N6F27M, which seems to be working fine with T-Mobile thus far.

Does N6F27M include security patch against new hole in WPA ?
No, it will be in November security patch but it's not sure that Nexus 6 will receive it...
I'm on Fi but my phone doesn't give me the opportunity to update N6F27M, it does not show that there is an OTA available.
Could it be that the phone was a Verizon overstock which I flashed to NGI55D manually when I first bought it?
I suppose I will have to sideload the OTA.
Edit: Never mind, it finally came through.
November security patch is out for pixel and 2015 nexus, no new build for our good old Shamu so we will have to keep it with Krack security breach or install custom rom...
The last update I received was the August 1st patch. Is the unlocked version just being overlooked, or am I not receiving new updates?
I haven't gotten any updates either.

The last update to the u1 devices is AQH3. I have no idea why they havent updated.
Your options are do nothing, install a regular G950U rom and live with horrible carrier bloat and a package disabler, or root and run something debloated (done yourself or use a rom) and have 80% battery.

Just got an update today. It's funny, because a couple of days ago I reached out to Samsung of America, but didn't hear back. So I reached out to several Android reporting sites, and then all of a sudden we get an update.

try to check the updates manually, at least that's what i did
Yep, checked manually. Nothing.
I had an issue getting updates when I used Odin to install unlocked fw and didn't wipe afterwards. Is that the case here?
You can always go to Updato.com and search for G950U1 to dl and install from there.
I received the November security patch update last night as well.
installed the update on my s8+ while having substratum layers applied. stupid system keeps crashing, even on safe mode. had to restore to factory settings.

Hey guys I recently sideloaded the latest oreo beta version on my s8 and now I am wondering if when the oficial oreo 8.0 comes out I will be able to get it OTA or will I have to use Odin to go back to BQL1 and then do the OTA update? I am obviously not part of the samsung beta program.

Mine is working fine too, and no, it didn't got wiped. I was just wondering if after the oficial Oreo release comes out I can just do the OTA but i guess I will just figure it out when it comes out. (Is probably going to be a while)

Theoretically, we are strongly advised to wipe out everything and start from scratch. However, I would rather do it once Oreo is out.
I couldn't help noticing an error occurred during the installation process, some SYSTEM folder or partition that couldn't be mounted due to ACCESS DENIED. Perhaps this is something related with having the device encrypted?

Yes I remember I saw the error as well, but everything seems working fine so far. I have T mobile and I know that the release of Oreo is going to take a while because they are not even in the testing phase yet.
Do you think we're going to need to flash back to BQL1 and then Oreo? Btw which Baseband version you have installed? I got ZRA6

I have ZRA5, which comes from the leaked build shared a couple of days ago. It has January 2018 security patch and build date is 01/09/2018 22:49:09.
Are you sure you have ZRA6? Perhaps you have different build from a different source. If that is so, where did you get it?
Thanks!

Yes I am positive I have ZRA6 I got it from: https://samsung.firmware.science
I came across this website looking for ways to update to Oreo. I understand that all the firmware versions he has in the website are officially released by Samsung (including the Betas), the only downside is that he does not specify which software is which, you have to know the baseband versions you are installing.

That site only featured the build intended for the Snapdragon variant of the S8, also known as 950U. If you installed that build on your 950F I'm surprised you haven't bricked it.

Thats the thing, my phone is 950U not 950F sorry I did not specify that little detail. Thats why I was able to install throught the sd card with no trouble at all.
I just received my Oreo update for my Unlocked S8+. Has anyone else received it yet? I'm thinking since we have Safestrap and now custom rom support that I'll cancel the update and wait for an AOSP rom.

I was on T-Mobile but switched to MetroPCS two days ago. (Same network)
It's true... I am on Sprint with G995U1 and I am currently downloading a 1354.14MB update.
I had to check for it, but it found it and downloaded it. My phone is unlocked. Update applied without issues.
Loving finally having the auto fill API.
Just checked my software updates for the first time in weeks and there it was! Unfortunately they're working on our electrical system, so I won't be able to download it until WiFi is back up, but it'll give me time to back things up.
Factory unlocked running on T-Mobile
Can anyone confirm if Hotspot remains functional after the update without carrier involvement.
Thanks
