Hey guys
This is something new! Never seen it before! Anywhere!
After 4.4.2 update, my google chrome is having a problem.
I think the screen shot below is clear!
"Sooo, i cant upload pictures with my tab using chrome!!! This is another issue i guess!!!
The screen shot is a black screen, with a new tab icon only on top, whitch is not working, nothing else. Not a chrome logo in the midle, nothing"
It happens every time i run chrome, i have to end the app, (i have a commad for it in gmd gesture control)
Then remove it from recent apps then run it again to maks it work.
I unistalled all of its updates, cleared apps cash and data. Reinstalled updates, none helped.
In 4.2.2, when i opened the app, it used to show my favorites and i could open a new tab, or open my fav tabs.
Can anyone help?
Any suggestions?
This morning I was on DP1 with Pixel Launcher installed via twrp. I am also rooted. Also, I have google now disabled and OK google detection off.
Till this morning I had a mic icon on the right of the G on the homescreen.
I have installed DP2 and...
... Pixel Launcher disappeared, had to reinstall it via twrp: is this normal?
... The mic icon has disappeared and now on the homescreen I only have the G: how can I have mic icon back?
Thanks
Here's what I mean: how it was before and how it is now.
It means you have Google Now disabled.
Strange as google now was disabled also before...
Hi All,
Google have just refunded me for my Nexus 6P (4th replacement) so I have had to send it back, until my Pixel XL 2 arrives I'm stuck without a phone so borrowed the missus old Galaxy S7 Edge (Shes got a Note 8 now)
It's a SM-G935F running Android 7.0 August security patch G935FXXU1DQF1
Full factory reset was done and then I have set it up for me, if I use Touchwiz launcher and open the green phone app it freezes and then comes up "phone has stopped" and gives me the option to close app. I have tried to downgrade by downloading other versions of the app but if I try to install them it comes up installation package corrupt.
I prefer Action Launcher set up as a Pixel device (obviously I'm coming from a Nexus) so I tried but it wont even display the green phone app, I installed another dialler and that crashes as well if I try to use it!
Help?
I've just managed to stop it crashing by "uninstalling updates" in the apps menu.
If I now use Action Launcher though, I can't add the "phone app" to the launcher, it doesn't appear in list of apps or hidden apps.
There are 2x apps with the same orange logo on called Phone on called Contact, if I press either they both open contacts.
Anyone?
Edit: figured it out.
I downloaded a bunch of apps last night that required screen overlay (draw over other apps) permission to operate. I uninstalled all of them, but now when I scroll horizontally on my home screen of Nova launcher, this white transparent overlay pops up on my screen except over the status bar. It’s most apparent when reaching the far edges with infinite scroll turned off, where I can hold it in place. I have a screenshot, but I can’t post it yet. It’s on the Lgv20 subreddit though. It also flashes intermittently when I swipe anywhere horizontally. Swiping vertically to open app drawer doesn’t seem to trigger it. It disappears when I’m not touching the screen.
I had Flynx, Amaze browser, Flyperlink, chromer, Link bubble brave (from apks), Trine browser, Hermit, and swipe for facebook downloaded. I’ve since removed them but it’s still there. I’ve tried restarting a few times and ran the smart cleaning. I’ve also tried redownloading the apps, clearing data, force stopping, then uninstalling, but no dice. I’ve gone to the Special access>Draw over other apps section and disabled all third party apps I’ve ever downloaded, and I’ve also restarted Nova a few times. This hasn’t accomplished anything, either.
Other screen overlay apps I have installed include Simple Pie, Status, Directchat Pro, Lastpass, Airdroid, and Screen Filter, but these haven’t caused problems before.
Help on this issue would be greatly appreciated. The flickering is driving me nuts!!

Go into safe mode and see if it still happens. If not, you missed something.

Thanks for the reply. The effect doesn’t occur on LG’s default launchers, even outside of safe mode. Or at least I couldn’t get it to trigger. This is why I suspect this might have something to do with Nova, but I wasn’t sure. I’ll try reinstalling instead of just restarting. I rebooted into safe mode, and the effect wasn’t present, but I couldn’t test Nova.
figured it out. sometime in the process of installing/uninstalling apps and fiddling with the settings of the apps (some of which added icons to the home screen which was locked), some of my nova settings were altered. One setting I saw was that infinity scroll was turned on even though it supposedly isn’t compatible with the nova google now companion. Probably why it was glitching a ton and caused chromer to crash repeatedly when opening links from there (unsure). Some animations were also changed for some reason. I reloaded a nova backup I had and all was well.
I am 100% stock with latest update, I have never played with the system and been official from day one.
I use Google now launcher.
Today I noticed I can no longer move my widgets, if I long press them I get a message (see picture) saying Google has stopped and normally the last app used reopens.
I can move app shortcuts easy enough by long pressing, just widgets are a problem.
Restarting the phone does not help, any ideas how to solve?
Yesterdays update of "Google" solved this problem and I'm 99% sure it was caused by a "Google" update a few days ago so all good now.
