Camera sounds - Essential Phone Questions & Answers

Hi , is there any way that I could control my camera shutter sound? It's really a trouble when I try to take a sneaky picture without someone's notice or when in-class and it's still gives out a sound even though the phone is in silent mode with all the volumes down. I run Android 8.1

My essential phone has Android 9 and I am not able to shut the camera shutter sound. It's really loud and annoying.

Autofocus beep

I know you can turn off the shutter sound, but what about the autofocus beep? It's quite loud... and annoying. Also the beeps for video recording... any way to turn those off as well?

Delete the file "sounds.blob" found in:
\Program Files\XperiaCamera\Resources
It will mean you can't have a shutter sound either but I assume you didn't mind that!

[Q] Shutter sound on Sharp Aquos

Recently purchased this phone(Boost).. Its nice.(For the price) The screen looks bigger than it actually is, and pretty quick.
One issue right off the the back. Cant turn off the shutter sound when taking photos!!!!!!. Is there a way this can be done? or will it need to be rooted?
Camera isnt that bad and the low-light feature is decent. I am use to the Note 3 camera and functions. However this will be a nice phone for a Pre Teen.. Any insight on this will be appreciated

From what I understand, you will need root to turn the camera shutter off if it already is not an option.
With other phones it was simply removing all of the sound files associated with the camera app.
It's a privacy thing, so that one cannot take any photos of another without their consent.
If I remember correct (can still be wrong), that was a primary result of the taking of photos of someone in a dressing room, mainly men of women.

So with the latest update, muting the shutter sound is supposed to be an option. Has anyone been able to mute the sound? I can't seem to find the option to turn it off despite sharp detailing this as a feature with the update.
Kind of hard to take snap shots of a sleeping baby (or anything when there is a sleeping baby) with such a loud camera shutter, lol.

After installing the latest update, just simply set your phone to silent or vibrate and that should mute the shutter while taking a picture.

[MM] Audio issues while filming Video, tons of noise and super loud audio

Hey guys,
Whenever I film a video, either on Motorola's Camera App or on Google's, the audio is REALLY LOUD and it won't cancel/filter any noise.
In other words, the audio in the video sucks.
Also, whenever I record my voice on whatsapp, the audio is REALLY L OUD and has a ton of noise.
Why is this?
I am rooted on MM using systemless root... does this have anything to do with it?
What can I do?
Please help me, this really sux balls! :/

I just started noticing this and its driving me nuts.
I just factory restored with factory image, since i was rooted and issue continues to happen.
Not sure what could be causing it.
I notice it on snapchat a lot more. Sounds like one of those old school movie reels spinning.
can really notice it on quit environment, gets on my nerves.

Is it like this on every device? I got my Pure two days ago, and the recording noise is really a dealbreaker for me. It's really loud on snapchat, which I use a lot. Should I ask for a replacement or just return it and buy a Nexus 6P?
Volume level of actual sound appears normal - that is, spoken voices, or other sounds.
So it appears somehow lots of white noise is getting amplified into the recording.
Hmm.. Appears to be a known issue - https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoX/comments/3ulqdt/noise_while_recording_video_2015_moto_x_pure/

Do you think it's a software or hardware issue? I'm considering returning my device, but it would be useless if it's a software issue. And if it is, maybe motorola are aware of it already?... I'm not really sure what to do lol, because I do love this phone.
Hard to say. Chances are it's possible to somehow disable the noise canceling in this phone. I don't record enough videos for it to matter. I suppose when there is actual sound, it will overcome the white noise anyway.
I have a slight background noise and all audio no matter what app I record through (camera, Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook) is very low. I can't use speakerphone either because people on the other end can't hear me. Hopefully some sort of fix comes up. I feel it's more software than hardware. Never had the issue before marshmallow.
Try Open Camera, and then tap the Settings icon (upper right)
In Video settings, choose Audio source and pick 'Default audio source'.
See if that helps for videos. I don't use snapchat so I don't know how to fix that sorry.

Does ur s8 speaker sound goes a little bit static when your ringtone hits a high note

Hello
Recently i have been noticing that if i raise my ringtne level the sound comes out a bit static. Its happening with the alarm and the ringtone.
The videos are working fine but this is soo frustrating. It
hasnt been a month since i got this cell.

Yes! On default message sound, on every notification sound to be honest... It sounds like it's distorted, don't know how to explain, but we are talking about the same thing... But that seems to be "normal", i tried my friend's phone and it's the same. Don't know if the ringtones are low quality or the speaker can't hit high notes.
Yes ! This is exactly what has been happening !
Yea.. almost as if it was clipping.. so I never have it at max volume

Mute shutter sound

Dear guys,
I have a lot of time searching for solution to disable camera shutter sound without rooting my phone, after trying many App. I found that one and it's working but it's a trial (mute camera: default camera mute from SangGwon.parc)
I just wanted to share it with you, hope it helped.
Thanks.
LOL, just turn the sound to "Mute" or "Vibrate", and there's no camera shutter sound. No app or mod needed.
Turning off system sound does the job
No need to download anything externally bro
Just mute your system sound to turn off the camera shutter sound and other annoying system sounds.
