that's Samsung fault... Flash other room with the newest security patch. Firmware for South East Europe has 1.04 patch
I'm just wondering if anyone has any intel on the status from Samsung on this update?
As I understand it, this tablet came with 6.x, went to 7.0, and supposedly will get 8.1. I sincerely doubt that Samsung would give a 3rd major update to Android 9.x.
I bought this very recently with 7.0 out of the box, f/w (build) is NRD90M.T580UEU2BQL1, Security patch level is Dec 1, 2017.
We won't get Pie, that's guaranteed
I think we will get Oreo but I'm guessing 8.0 not 8.1, when we get Oreo is completely up in the air. I heard Q3 of 2018 but I don't see any updates
Also why is your security patch so behind? I'm on June 2018

That's a very good question. I bought this a few weeks ago at the local military base exchange. I checked after I got home to see if there were any updates - firmware and OS but nothing. My build number is: NRD90M.T580UEU2BQL1. I see people posting about BRL1 firmware and assuming they are following an alphabetical scheme - R comes after Q.
I'm on the same security patch, 12/1/2017.
I am on security patch October 2018, on my Galaxy Tab A 10.1 from 2016, buildnr. NRD90M.T580XXS4BRI1
Today South Korea and UAE got the Oreo 8.1 update on the 2016 model, so it seems they will now roll in for all countries soon the 2016 with Pen S model already got the update in South America if I am right. The 2017 model probably also get the update rolled out around these days.
While I might be wrong, I believe Oreo 8.1 is still only available for Spen version (SM-P580/585) in Korea and UAE

Nope, Oreo 8.1 with nov security patch is out for SM-T580 in South Korea and UAE since some days. I can't give any links as I don't have 10 posts yet, but google:
'Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2016) Oreo update now available
The Galaxy Tab A 10.1 update follows the Galaxy Tab 2 Active Oreo update, which also included the November patch. The Wi-Fi and LTE variants of the Tab A are being updated to Oreo in South Korea and the UAE respectively. Only the UAE update includes the November patch, but you can expect all of the Oreo features to be the same across both variants.'
T585 got updated as well

I updated via OTA last night. I confirm the version and the security patch, I have the SM-T580 DBT code. Everything seems to work fine and there has been no loss of user data in the update.

Yes, it was an apk app (apkpure) that started this after the oreo update (it was fine with nougat), so the problem was solved aftet I uninstaled it.
So couple of days back I received an update on my indian s7 with November 19 security update. I saw on news that s7 got its last update with March 2020 security update. Are all Indian s7's behind in their updates?
Nobody??
