So not seeing much on Google when I tried which is to be expected really... I'm calling for a little bit of help so I can make a modification to a particular line in the build.prop for the Z5c.
Since I flashed LineageOS during the night, I'm mostly back up and running save for one thing: Google Pay. Because of that pesky SafetyNet API (curse you Google...), I can't use it right now because the CTS check fails in Magisk. I've tried a couple things already to no avail, since that error is related to the certification for device compatibility for Play Store and other things.
Code:
resetprop ro.build.fingerprint OnePlus/OnePlus3/OnePlus3T:8.0.0/OPR6.170623.013/12041042:user/release-keys
I took this from another thread in the Magisk forum, but I need the stock Z5c fingerprint for whichever release, preferably the latest 7.1.1 Nougat firmware if anyone has it available. If I'd known I would need this, I would of gotten it myself. Hopefully someone can help out with this since that blasted CTS check is what's preventing me from using Google Pay at the moment.

1. You can install Universal SafetyNet fix and CTS will pass.
2. Google Pay won't work anyway because NFC issues on Lineage.
I went through like 40 of those pages and I've seen many conflicting reports about that particular module either working or not. Plus, it hasn't been updated since v14 of Magisk making it fairly old.

It works, I'm using it ATM.
So it is apparently. Too bad NFC is utterly broke for me in LineageOS.. oh well.

Is Xposed available for the june security update ...if it's there please provide the link or the instructions ..thanks in advance
If you really want to, you could give the xposed Nougat flashable a try: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/xposed-android-nougat-sdk-25-arm64-t3639221 or https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-v87-unofficial-yes-im-t3639192
You'd want SDK 24 arm, and of course you'd have to running TWRP (and magisk if you wish).
However, this unofficial variant of xposed appears to be hit and miss for many users on Nougat (presumably because it's supposed to be directly implemented into the ROM, rather than flashed on top), so your experience may vary. Some modules appear to function, others not so much (https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-list-modules-nougat-xposed-t3639615 for a list)
Again, if you really wish to try this, back up your device in TWRP first before attempting this, and if it's not stable, then you may wish to wait for rovo89's official xposed.

No problem - again, be aware that the xposed builds I linked are still experimental (and though based on rovo89's work, are unofficial builds), some things may work, others may not, and in a number of cases I noted that bootloops have occurred. That could either be due to the implementation of xposed or the modules not formally updated to work with Nougat.
Best thing to do is to back up your device in TWRP before you flash this xposed if you still choose to flash, so you can revert should your system be unstable. Also, bear in mind that having xposed on your device may stop SafetyNet from working, so you may lose access to certain apps (e.g. Snapchat, Pokemon Go, various banking apps) unless xposed is disabled or removed.
Hello
I've read around this a lot here and elsewhere and I can't seem to get a definitive answer as to the best solution to the root I'd like. I would like to use TiBu and play PokemonGO (and perhaps use the Barclays UK banking app). It looked like Magisk was the way to do this with Nougat 7.0. This video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjwSjiE76o8
Which is also shown here in a series of screenshots:
http://galaxys7root.com/galaxy-s7-s...s7-or-s7-edge-on-android-7-0-nougat-w-magisk/
...would seem to do what I want. But I expect I would use updated versions of Magisk etc.
I can see threads on here that would indicate that Magisk is now not able to help you pass safetynet with a rooted phone but I think that may be for updated versions of Android and 7.0 may still be OK.
Can anyone confirm that the rooting method shown here is sensible. Or, failing that, the best way to achieve what I want with a currently stock G930FD running 7.0?
Thanks
Maqgisk does by pass safetynet.
Magisk has it own root now built in.
the links you have provided user older versions of magisk without dated installation methods.
Install twrp on your phone then magisk v.14. you do not need any other files.

Thanks! That's the kind of definitive answer I was looking for.
Btw, which Android version are you on? I have an update available that I can download but not sure I should. As I said, I'm on 7.0 so not sure what I'd end up on if I updated.
As I like TouchWiz but would like to reduce the bloat, I am tempted by the Superman ROM, which makes the update point moot.

I am on a custom s8 7.0 rom called galaxy project.
Hey guys,
I'm just looking for someone to point me in the right direction. Basically, my school has this web portal logon thing called Cloudpath (formerly xpressconnect) that requires you to log on to the portal's network in order to follow the instructions in your web browser for your specific OS. The problem arises with Android. It requires you to download an app, which does all the nitty gritty certificate installation and configuration for you. However, whenever I try this on a CUSTOM ROM (LOS-based and DU), I end up in a connecting loop. I never get connected to the secured network even though the certs appear to be installed correctly. I've tried using the app and doing it manually by downloading the certs myself. This only occurs on custom nougat roms, but works on stock MM (I haven't tried MM roms, because I want nougat).
As far as I know this problem only affects this phone after I install the rom and OpenGapps. Some of my peers have LOS and have gotten it to work, so I'm the only one, and the tech staff have no idea what to do. I don't have the log file on me, but if you need it, I can post it (they're pretty long, but seem to be detailed up until the connection part which just flops between CONNECTED and DISCONNECTED).
Is this a problem with the modem or the roms themselves? I was going to wait until the nougat kernel blobs got integrated to LOS, before trying again as I don't want to use the experimental build because it's a month old now. This problem has been around since at least January of this year. If there is a non-los based nougat rom, I would be glad to try that too. otherwise, I'm at a loss and I need some direction.
Any help is appreciated!
Seeings as how all of our Nougat ROMs are a mixed bag of partial MM and part Nougat still, and all custom ROM's for the MXPE use LoS's device tree, I am thinking this is a ROM issue, probably with some binary blob we don't have yet. The kernel source just released a few weeks ago, give it time and custom ROM's will get better (we think), and if the MXPE ever gets official Nougat, we will probably have better binary blobs too.
If it works on stock Marshmallow, it obviously isn't a radio thing, because your Nougat ROM's use the same radio firmware.
I don't have much else to say, but I would try a custom Marshmallow ROM and see if it works... if it fails as well, the problem is something in the LoS core device tree and it will need some developer's special attention (good luck with that, since we are considered to have a stable device tree it takes some work to get it changed), but if it works, chances are good that once custom Nougat ROMs get updated more it will likely work.
In a last ditch effort. I tried flashing the experimental build after posting this article, and it actually works! Now, this isn't the ideal situation given that there are some bugs (that I haven't run into yet) and that this build is a month old now. But for now, I'm satisfied. I just hope these blobs get integrated to official LOS soon.
Progress on that is here: https://review.lineageos.org/#/q/project:LineageOS/android_device_motorola_clark
If there are any roms out there that are considered stable and have these implemented now, I would appreciate it, otherwise, I think I'll be set for a little while. Thanks for your help!
I recently got a 6P and have learnt a few things that are pushing me towards a custom ROM;
1. No Night Light (blue light filter) on stock.
2. No NFC quick toggle
3. Enforced encryption
4. In the event of the dreaded bootloop, I understand it's only possible to rescue the device if bootloader is unlocked.
I don't particularly want to unlock the bootloader etc as I want to be able to use Google Pay and banking apps freely, however I understand that with the use of Magisk this shouldn't be a problem.
I've rooted etc many devices since Android 2 but I'm aware that each device has its quirks.
Basically (TLDR):
What do I need to know/do to get from Stock to ABC rom with with Google Pay etc working fully?
Thanks for your help!
Just found this thread:

Is all of that still accurate? Anything else on top of that worth knowing?

As far as flashing 8.1 devices? Yeah, based on when this device was made the unlock and flash process was nice and simple.
Don't be surprised if some stuff won't work with an unlocked BL though. Yeah root can hide itself but some safety net checks are better than others and they look at the BL. I don't use banking apps on an unsafe phone, but I still see people every once in a while posting about *whatever* app they use does not work due to safety net.
Do not use above as a reason to lock your BL on a custom rom. NEVER do it.
If you descide at some point to want to move on to 9.0, do some research between FDE encryption, which is what this device has always used. And FBE encryption which some people are building 9.0 ROMs with. This will save you from me yelling at you for not being able to read an OP if you want to go to 9.0
Thanks for your reply.
I apologise for being lazy in my post. I have two small children and know from part experience that one can spend a long time collecting various patchy, out dated pieces of info from disparate, incomplete forum threads! However, it seems that there is pretty good, comprehensive tutorials for the Nexus 6p :victory:
My main questions I guess now are:
1. Do I still need to flash the vendor image if coming from stock 8.1?
2. I've heard ABC has safetynet built in... Does this mean Google Pay etc is more likely to work?
3. I can't find a link to the last ABC rom. That Kajinsk(?) Website doesn't seem to be in use anymore.
4. Is it possible to go back to fully stock with a locked bootloader if I decide to?
Thanks

If the vendor image does not match the month of the rooms security patch you get a message that pops up on the device about it, other than that I doesn't hurt anything.
No idea, again, I don't mess with stuff that checks safteynet.
Not sure on the rok quest either, can try in the thread but yeah kantjer nuked his site when he got rid of his 6p.
Yeah, just get the factory image from the Google site and fastboot flash it.

Even if vendor image is newer than rom security patch? So I'd probably have to flash an older vendor image than the current OPM7.181205 so that it matches whatever the last ABC rom patch level was?
Knowing that I can go back to stock and locked bootloader makes me happier to see how things go with a custom rom. I know some devices can't be relocked fully.
Think I've found the last ABC rom image:

As I said, I have NEVER heard of anyone having issues not being on the right vendor aside from a notification on reboot.
Okay, thanks!
Hello XDA.
Ive spent a few hours now reading OP8P forums, and got some rough idea of what I'm getting my self into.
I bought a OP8P, its coming to me within next 10 days. I bought it brand new from T-Mobile in Croatia (Europe).
This is my first time owning a Oneplus, my current phone is Galaxy S7, before that i had an S5... On these two i got some experience with custom roms, rooting, flashing, twrp.... But i didnt do anything to my phone in the last 2 years, its been stagnant... and the knowledge i gained... well, if you don't use it, you lose it..
It always seemed that oneplus had great support in XDA community, but from all these threads I read in past few hours, i gathered some confusing conclusions.
What i expected when i made the purchase is that I would be able to have a stock up-to-date OxygenOS, with root (magisk), twrp, xposed, banking apps working, youtube vanced, photochrome camera...
But..... seems like i would have to go through a lot of trouble achieveing all of these things, deciding between OOS 10 vs 11, if they're even achievable with some of the knowledge i kept from my samsung days...
So here are a few questions i would like answers for...
1. When i get the phone and start it for the first time, am I going to be running OOS 10 until i manually upgrade?
2. Do you suggest I stay on OOS10 or upgrade to OOS11?
3. If i upgrade to OOS11, can I have any of the stuff i mentioned that i expected?
4. I saw some user saying if I decide to root, i should not be using modified/patched boot.img... Why is that? (btw i don't recall ever doing this back in day, would love some info about it...)
5. Is TWRP possible, whats the new META?
4. Is there anything else i should know before doing anything, also I wouldn't mind if you would explain all this to me like im five years old
Thanks in advance!
I'm a op8pro owner, and I have Magisk (22.0), and root without twrp (no recovery yet suported for android 11 on this device). You have to patch boot.img with Magisk. Not a big head ache.
Photocrom camera not working on 11 as before on android 10, and I tried two existing methods (it works, but no "X-ray" feature).
Since android 11 is in its stable release, new devices should come with it, but not sure.
All apps mentioned, Root and non Root are working just fine,
Thanks for replying.
Could you possibly link the guide which I should follow, and save me from something outdated, since I might not be rooting my OOS11 from inactive slot on OOS10
Thanks again!
