LineageOS has problems with Spotify Connect - LineageOS News & Discussion

Maybe the other way arround
Here is the thread on spotify support:
https://community.spotify.com/t5/An...-679-beta/m-p/4415303/highlight/false#M128660
After I have real problems with five lineageOS devices here with a spotify family account I tried nearly everything to find the problem. With the Android Device and LineageOS on it I could not find the speakers who should habe connected the Spotify (Connect).
After I tried a fresh stock device I noticed that all speakers are avaible under the same account and with any other LineageOS Device I missed these speakers.
Frank
After doubeling the MAC, no VoLTE, WLan call problems with the audio mixer and several other things this is a killing point for me now with LineageOS. Thank you to all developers in basic!

Same problem with an Xperia M2 Lineage OS 14.1 (https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-m2/general/unofficial-lineageos-14-1-t3747579)
Louis

Same problem here but i'm not sure if LOS is the reason why Spotify Connect isn't working correctly.

https://community.spotify.com/t5/An...ng-since-v8-4-42-679-beta/m-p/4486524#M132741

I was just able to test everything with a non-rooted device without LOS: Everything is working just fine

That means Spotify won't like rooted phones.

Unfortunately it seems so

Same issue here. Neither latest or older APKs work.
Lineage 14.1, potter
I still love the ROM too much to leave it, but this is an unfortunate development. I hope Spotify isn't reading the build number of Android phones and determining it to be custom; they might lose a large amount of customers that way.

Is your phone rooted or not? I think it's related to root and not ROM. And i'm sure Spotify can identify each used device.

Rooted, but passing Safety net. So it shouldn't matter.

Okay, i don't know about that. The problem still exists for me.
In case anyone uses Adaway, here some further informations:
https://github.com/AdAway/AdAway/issues/1009
I today tried to use spotify connect with a device with OmniRom and have the same problem.
Even using spotify version 8.4.38.621 and Magisk 16.4. with Magisk Hide.
So i would say it's somehow related to root.
Can anyone agree or disagree?
If it's really not related to LOS perhaps the thread owner can move this thread to get the right attention?

Here having this same problem with two Xiaomis with LOS 15.1. Any idea how to fix this?

Are you using AdAway, AFWall or other stuff which changes settings that could be relevant?

Bluetooth issues for 4.4

I've read around, and multiple people are having this issue, without any real solution. Does anyone know of a rom with which bluetooth is stable (or do I have a hardware issue?)
When Bluetooth is connected to any handsfree car system , it cuts out for a few seconds before reconnecting. For example, If I am in a call, it will revert to the built in earpiece & disconnect from the car , only to reconnect seconds later. Same of Bluetooth audio (a2dp). It's fairly disjointed.
I've tried both stock android 4.4.4 & the lastest Cyanogenmod snapshot & nightlies.
Thanks for any help, and I will post back if I find anything useful.
Never happened to me, I've connected with jawbone FM music transmitter, and with several other Bluetooth peripherals including headphones, my smartwatch, and a mono headset and not experienced this. Maybe its a problem with the specific car your trying to connect to? My BMW 750li doesn't pair with the nexus 4, and even a bb z10
Edit: if multiple people are reporting this and multiple hands free car systems don't work then maybe is a hardware issue? Which revision nexus you have ?

I suspect people are experiencing different issues, since no 2 cases appear to be the same. As for me, I have a 2008 Audi with integrated BT which worked fine with Gingerbread. 4.+ has been very different: the connection would often be lost and regained mid-trip and worst of all, 9 times out of 10 I couldn't initiate or terminate calls from the car. That last point is a deal-breaker for me...
Some early KK builds were fine, in fact I used Purity till March. Then a new build came along which returned the above issues. Since then I have tried virtually all the popular ROMs (I would create a Nandroid backup and reflash after a day or so - I still try new builds), and at least for me the AOSP ROMs all have the same issue, above.
I am currently using AICP ROM which is AOKP, nightlies are installed OTA and I don't have a single issue with the car BT any more. And it's a very stable ROM, I´ve been using the ROM for about 4 months I think.
Your mileage may vary, since I suspect we all have different issues, but the AOKP branch works for me. Dirty Unicorns works fo rme too.

Thanks for the responses. The cars work perfectly fine with galaxy phones & iphones, the issues lies with my nexus sadly. I will try the posted roms later on and update!
Also Paul, can you post a link to the rom you have installed? I've been out of the loop for a while and cannot find it !
Mine is also a rev11, 303k. I guess that rules out hardware issue

Here you go: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/orig-development/rom-aicp-3-5-kk-4-4-2r2-mako-t2632777 - enjoy!
This is the official download page, where you can get the gapps package you prefer, plus the release/latest nightly.
If you install the release you won't get the nightly updates. The nightlies are very stable, so I'd recommend the latest nightly.
I'm experiencing exactly the same problems than Blazing angel.
Bluetooth is unusable in my car, "Unfortunately, the process com.android.bluetooth has stopped" being displayed repetitively.
I suspect it's not hardware related as I do not have problem using the stock or paranoid ROMs. Unfortunately, my favorite ROMs (AOKP, CN or Carbon) are causing problems.
Do you think it's possible to pickeup some files in the paranoid files and inject them to Carbon to solve the problem ?
Thanks in advance for your help !

Great ! I was able to bypass my bluetooth problem using this Android 4.4.4 rom, without loosing great features of Carbon or Pac-ROM ! :victory:
Thanks for sharing this ROM Paul ! :good:

H910 (ATT) which rom is best?

I would like some suggestions for a decent rom. I am looking for pure vanilla android and the possibility of using the new Google Assistant and having the Pixel Launcher.
I am also looking for a tweaked bluetooth setting. The one in stock sucks in my car.
Thanks

Any US996 rom will run without issue on H910. I think the closest to a vanilla android rom you're going to find right now would be one of the CM-built roms, like LineageOS or AOKP. You will lose second-screen functionality with these roms, though. Not sure if by 'tweaked bluetooth setting' you mean signaling because of audio dropping out, or equalizer-type changes. If you have audio drops, try a different kernel. Konverged and Restock both took care of mine. For sound settings, those roms may have Viper4Android or something similar in them already.
I'm running WETA + Restock kernel on my H910. No static, no bluetooth issues, way too much audio control.
No issues installing that Restock kernel? Do you flash the ROM then the kernel and SuperSU in that order?
The roms should be pre-rooted, so no need to flash supersu. But yes, flash the rom, then the kernel in TWRP immediately after each other.
I haven't had any issues with Restock at all.

I've also found this happens in my car, but it's not due to the bluetooth stack on the phone. I believe it has to do with the power output of the transmitter or maybe the antenna. The mount I use is directly above and sticks out past the front of the face of my stereo. With the phone upright or in landscape to the left, it drops signal. When in landscape with the top of the phone to the right, I have no drops. When it's in this position, more of the phone is closer to the stereo, which sounds like an interference issue. It also doesn't drop when the phone is upside down in the mount, but it's covering more than half the front of my stereo in that position. I also don't have issues if the phone is in my lap on on the passenger seat, hence my suspicion about interference.
Is there any option yet to be rooted while still being able to wifi call on any rom or kernel?
Just need to tether really, without losing wifi calling ability.
Wait, what..?

Please disabuse me of my ignorance, but does this mean that my h910 (rooted) can flash Nethunter (the 996 version is supported, has kernel, etc)?

If I understand you correctly, I should flash lineage, then nethunter over it, then flash the gapp, su, and xposed zips?
Or, are you saying i should, from my att phoe, flash the 997 nethunter build from offsec, then build my own chroot, kernel, annnnnd I;ll stop there

G6 H870 bluetooth call issue

I'm having troubles using my G6 (lineage 14.1 installed) with my car Bluetooth. Music plays fine but phonecalls are a nightmare, I can hear the person I call but he/she can barely hear me because he/she does hear a lot of noise (just like when you blow on the microphone). I'm going to test it with my friends cars as well; mine is a Mazda and is working perfectly with a old LG G3, few One+, few Samsung Galaxy and a Lumia.
Anyone else having the same issue? Any tips?
Thanks
How did it work with the stock O/S?

I.m pretty sure all the custom roms for H870 have calling over BT broken so far.
This is the only reason why I'm still on stock Oreo rom. I need my BT calling working.
Apparenttly it's a driver issue as US version of G6 doesn't have this problem on custom roms.

Good question; honestly, I don't know. I just bought the phone last week, turned it on just to see it worked, did shut it down and installed Lineage.

Head over to Aquarius rom thread as there are a few guys claiming the BT calling issues have been fixed.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/lg...ios-8-1-0-live-support-theming-t3808498/page3
Any working solution? I tried viper4android but It did not solve the issue.
I noticed many bluetooth options on rom menu settings, working somewhere gives good response?
Seems like car bluetooth phonecalls with my H870 running lineage 14.1 20181221 nightly do work on a brand new Kia Rio owned by a friend of mine. I'll give it another try with my cars as well and also few other friends cars and see if bt calls have been finally fixed or it's just the Kia the lucky one

Bluetooth audio on newest August update

Hello there,
some of you probably know Android has a problem with Bluetooth audio quality when there is another device for example a watch or other wearables connected.
The s8 was one of few phones which solved that problem for me, because enabling the dual audio function would allow higher bitrates on sbc. However after the last update which included the security patch from August the problem reoccurred.
Is there any place where I can trustfully download the old version of firmware eg the July update? I would like to try if that really caused the problem because the changelogs are not giving it away. I have been searching endlessly and I have come to the point where I would actually pay for it...
Greetings
Daniel

you cant download that portion of the firmware that im aware of as it has to do with the bluetooth stack overflow which goes into far more than just the audio eq portion of the software. Have you gone into developer options to look at the options there?

Im talking about the firmware from the July 2019 update. I wasnt planning on changing only the BT stack.
Yes I have been in the Developer options, but changing stuff there doesnt change anything. There have been topics on this on reddit and also a youtube video which shows the difference betweeen dual audio on and off...
obviously they changed something in the august 2019 update without noting it in the changelog.
The thing is: it seems its pratically impossible to download official firmware from samsung other than the newest one. its so frustrating, but i dont wanna give my credit card to these shady websites, they dont even accept paypal...

Is there a sleek, modern ROM that doesn't have constantly crashing Bluetooth

My most recent two mods, includig my current rom, Lineage_KTLE 9, cannot maintain a persistent Bluetooth connection. I've tried all my headset connections on different devices and they work fine, but on this G900T, I get nothing but drop-outs and crashes, which is especially frustrating when I'm on an important call.
I've ever considered going back to stock.
Anyway, can someone point me in the right direction? Or is there a working 'radio' I can install to fix this problem?
