I think Vesion 2 will be amazing

I was one of the lucky (well long waiting) ones who got their gemini quite early. I have had it a few weeks and can now say it is by far my favourite device. It is actually surprisingly easy to use as a phone. True, you can't see who is calling when the gemini is shut (the trick LEDs don't work yet), but making calls is easy and the gemini is surprisingly comfortable to use.
The keyboard is what makes the gemini. There have been a few reports of keyboard problems, but mine doesn't have any of them. After getting used to it, it is easy to type on, and quick. The two most useful things about it are the hotkeys (eg. press Fn-Del for settings,....) and the planet bar. With both of these, you can get where you want very quickly. The gemini is quick - not as fast as the current top contenders, but I haven't been wanting for more speed. By using the keyboard, you never cover the screen, so filling out forms online is much easier.
I installed termux for a simple environment and it does what I need in terms of ssh, scp and a general SD card maintenance. It can also handle source compilation using gcc (well actually LLVM).
All in all, my laptop hasn't seen the light of day since the gemini arrived. It is my only device now, and I am loving it!
I am waiting to give sailfish a go - the new keyboard savy sailfish 3 could be the perfect OS for the gemini.

First of all, I would like to tell you that I love that particular phone.
But the true story has some background, why this product will fail.
It's all the same, what we saw in the last 15-20 years back. Asian product, as nice and cool they are failing on the global market.
This particular one has to be included in the books with title "HOW TO NOT MAKE GLOBAL BUINESS"
"Nubia" - brand was new for me. If would be "ZTE - Nubia" would be more trustful, because people already knew "ZTE" as brand.
Anyway, let's focus on the product origin. Asia: All the industries care first about the local market, and then about the global one.
Cars, electronic devices, gaming industry - you can see all the same pattern around. (WoW vs. Lineage/Aion/<insert MMO name here>)
Those products were introduced on the local market, but not on the global one. If you're interested about it, you’ll get something like "it's coming soon in <country>" answer. And then hype dies .. slowly.
Why Stave Jobs was great? Simple - announcing a product and the final words are like "you can have it tomorrow in the store next to you". If that would happend with the this phone, I would go early morning to have it - true story.
Anyway, let's talk about the phone.
Engendering:
I'm literally amazed about the quality and the materials of the product. As I said before, a bit frustrated about the screen edges until I realized that's a preloaded screen protector, front and back.
Proximity sensors are not that accurate in the middle. Also, it seems that the light sensor is on the back, and if you put the phone to lie, the screen setup is on auto dimming, then it's not present.
Software:
It seems that the software is optimized for the Chinese market. All the apps needed on the daily use of a Chinese user would be ok.
Rooted version and GApps is possible but not everything is working on way it should - minor app crashes plus lock screen notification issues. (Fun breaker)
As I said, minor issues, but you'll always find a fly on the cake and blame the software.
Summary:
- If you're normal user - you gonnan love that phone and you'll accept and live with that all glitches if you're China's citizen.
- If you're EU/USA citizen - be a pro in Android root-ing. In other case stay away from Nubia X.
- For ZTE - that's a case study how to not make business on a global scale.
Once again, I love the phone, but I hate how the release and the software was executed.

Multitasking/RAM

You're busy and don't have time to wait, which is why you need to stop reading this thread and get back to organizing your Pogs. Rate this thread to express how the Nokia 9 PureView performs when multitasking. A higher rating indicates that the Nokia 9 PureView keeps many apps in memory so that they don't need to reload, and that when moving between apps, transitions are smooth and performance is excellent.

When i first got this phone, i wasn't familiar with Pie, and i didn't even realize i had a billion things open. So i think the Android One experience really shines in the multi-tasking area. You can even squeeze more speed by disabling all of googles features and services, however it does come to a point where disabling too much can make the OS shudder or just ruin seamless experiences. You will start to experience just a hair of that if you disable google services. However coming from a Windows phone im not sure if this is the norm.
On average right now i only use 3-4GB of memory
I will try to update this post as i go through a work week, to provide a more 'typical' experience.

Software (ease of use, features, etc)

When you hand your phone to granny to take a photo of you, can she get the job done? Rate this thread to express how you deem the ASUS ROG Phone II's camera software. I've had the phone for around 4 days now (short time I know). I found if you're using the gaming theme , yes it's hard to understand. though basic functionality of camera and phone are easy enough to understand and use.
If you use the standard google/ asus launcher and theme, its essentially a pixel or stock android, so much easier to use and understand.
So to answer your question: Yes grandma can take a picture for you. as long as you don't have a weird icon layout/ theme and she can use a standard smartphone camera.

OEM skin/software

Are you comfortable in your own skin? Is your phone comfortable in its skin? Rate this thread to express how you deem the skin on the OnePlus 7T. A higher rating indicates that you love it: it adds just the right amount of features, it's visually pleasing, and overall it's additive to the experience. If this is a Nexus phone (you didn't think we hand-wrote all of these prompts, did you?) then use this rating to indicate how the latest version of Android looks to you.

I don't have a lot of experience with Android 10, so I really have no baseline to compare OnePlus's implementation to "pure" Q.
I will say that none of OnePlus's pre-installed stuff has behaved in a rude, intrusive, or otherwise obnoxious manner. Their apps seem content to quietly sit in the corner coloring until summoned, like well-behaved children and recently-commissioned military officers. Neither have I come across anything about the interface that I hated or found confusing. It took me about half a cup of coffee to figure out where stuff was compared to Oreo, which is not bad at all.
Overall the phone is good. The only complaint is the GPS that I can recall. When I initially updated it to 10.0.4 the GPS was weird and couldn't lock onto my position. The GPS it's still a little buggy at times when it comes to locking onto my position. The other complaint is just minor. The ambient display has a lack of customization, but it's not buggy. I appreciate the lack of bloatware! This phone is blazing fast. Faster then a Samsung Galaxy s10 + head to head.

GPS is very important to me, so I made a few tweaks last night that I'll test when I'm done doing actual revenue work. I shall let you know how they work out.

There's a stretch of road not far from me that gives satellite receivers in general fits due to the topography. Accordingly, that's where I go to test satellite receivers.
There was no spot along that road where any of the dedicated GPS-testing apps I tried on my 7t were unable to get and keep a fix. The SNR's were also very usable. That tells me the radios are fine.
However, presumably because the birds keep disappearing and being replaced with new ones due to the topography, moving-map applications other than Google Maps kept losing their positions for a few seconds or minutes, and then recovering it anywhere from a few yards to more than a mile later. If I pulled over to the side of the road, however, they would quickly get a fix.
Magic Earth seemed to have the most difficulty, followed by OsmAnd. Google Maps didn't appear to have any problems. I rarely use it and its interface doesn't provide very detailed information, but it appeared to maintain its fix.
I tried several tweaks to solve the problems with Magic Earth and OsmAnd, but what seems to have fixed the problem was going into Dev Options and enabling "Force full GNSS measurements: Track all GNSS constellations and frequencies with no duty cycling." I suspect that the duty cycling caused problems for the apps because of the frequency of satellites disappearing from view, and the difficulty of re-establishing a fix in a moving vehicle under those conditions.
With that setting enabled, Magic earth only lost its fix twice, in the two most problematic points in the route, and quickly regained it. OsmAnd didn't have any problems that I noticed, nor did Google Maps.
Of course, toggling that setting to on does consume more power; but nothing in life is free.

There are some quirks, bugs, annoyances... But I effin love this device. Form factor, build quality, innovation, style all great in my opinion. Some functionality issues that could be deal breakers if not addressed immediately. Bluetooth connection instability tops my list. Smart watch will not stay connected.
I had canceled my order due to the grumbling on the device prior to roll out...only to get a email today that my phone is in town and will be delivered tomorrow or Monday?
It will be interesting to see after the newness of the phone wears off how many will keep or return them.
$1500 is a lot of money to put out for a phone and all the glitches people here and on YouTube have posted.
Basic things like terrible speaker quality, terrible video quality, lagging, launcher issues, awkwardness of not being able to text fast, issues with turning on 2nd screen when trying to take pictures.
I dont see MS stepping up anytime soon with fixes...
Time will tell!

This device is awesome. Been playing with it since it arrived yesterday. I'm not seeing too many bugs like others but I don't have a sim card in it yet so maybe that is the difference. Performed the update on first boot. Ill be trying an Asus portable gaming monitor by itself and on USB 3.1 Hub to see if external screens work in a few.
1 Annoyance is external drive needing FAT32. Not sure what that is about but I have a USBC Hub working on it with sdxc, samsung 7 touch drive and some peripherals. Seems to work fine aside from needing fat32 to read storage. Hopefully exfat or ntfs are coming. Copying Music to drive now so trying audio via USBC 3.1 to Headphone with a DAC chip in the 3.5 end.

My 2 cents.
I haven't had any of the bugs i've seen others have. I had one glitch on day one when trying to log into Super Cell to connect my clash of clans account. But it still actually worked, the screen just bounced around while i typed my recovery code. I think it was because COC was horizontal, and Supercell wanted to be vertical. It never happened again after that. There are weird things i'm figuring out that i thought were hiccups, but they're consistent and repeatable. So i think it's just how it works, more than an issue. I've had no launcher issues, so i don't know what you're referring to there. The speaker actually sounds decent to me, the real issue people have is the volume. It doesn't get very loud compared to other phones. It's plenty loud enough for the alarm to jolt me out of bed in the morning, but you're not going to be giving any presentations in a crowded room. Also, everyone knows the camera sucks. It's good enough to get you by, but you won't exactly be framing any of the pictures. And as far as not being able to type fast, that's just on MS Swiftkey. I use gboard and it has been flawless. Super fast and no mistakes or lag. And i'm actually really impressed, almost shocked, at how well the camera app works, as in knowing which screen to have on and which direction you're trying to take a picture, selfie vs normal.
It's only been a few days, but i absolutely love this thing! I'd spend the $1,400 again knowing now what i know.
I've had mine since the 10th, and am starting to love this device. The camera is the weakest link, but I'm hopeful for software improvements to emerge over time. As expected, the MS apps utilize the dual screens the best but again the software will come along in time once developers get a feel for it and additional, similar products hit the market. I guess for me it's pure early adopter... it's super cool but nowhere near full potential as of yet.
It's a game changer. Clearly many apps need to optimize to the screen format (Words With Friends, Instagram...) but being able to close the screen and have it be off of my mind is a massive productivity boost - more so when I open it up to get some work done. I replaced my Galaxy Tablet, which I have used for taking notes in client meetings with the Duo. I figured that, like the Galaxy, I would use Noteshelf for that. I am finding, however, that Evernote alone works great.
I wish that
1) You could close the book and NOT hang up a call,
2) That closing the book could auto-set Do-Not-Disturb
3) That the camera was better
4) That there was more battery - I will happily accept another couple of mm in thickness for more mAH and better optics for the camera.
Finally, I added the SopiGuard black leather skin and the bumper. Total game changer in terms of not having to handle the thing like a piece of glass art in a glass art gallery.
