Hey guys, so I'm in a bootloop and can't boot into my phone. I had a Nandroid backup on my Nexus 4 but I recently deleted it because I was running out of storage, so I moved it to my PC. So my question is, is there a way to use that Nandroid backup on my PC to restore my phone?

Yes. You boot in recovery, and use "adb push" to push the nandroid backup to your storage. Are you using TWRP or CWM?

CWM puts them in /storage/emulated and I would imagine TWRP does the same thing so they don't get wiped out on a factory reset.

Hi,
I try to make a backup using twrp on my external sd card......
It beginns but after a few minutes i become this error:
http://www.abload.de/img/bvqg5.jpg
I have the same problem, did not find a solution.
memory card or internal storage? try backup the internal storage
I have the same issue i read the log of twrp and found that one specific app give this error , uninstalled it ,but after that it gave me the same error for another app.
This error has to do with permissions.
Search on net and the only solution that i found it's to full wipe the phone.
I didn't do it because i'm to lazy to install all apps and settings again

You won't have to, just use Titanium Backup
TWRP if this goes well

Do not make the backup from the recovery!
Use it just to store your backup preference (set "external SD" on the selected storage pop-up).
After, use the app to backup data, system and boot partitions.. The recovery will launch automatically and the backup will be done and save on your external SD.
EDIT: even easier... Just select your external SD path on setting tab (TWRP app)...
Im not having a hard time creating a back up using twrp at all

Backup with app give me not error, just stop before action compled (just graphical bug) but backup is good for restoring your device. (Restored choice is only see "data" but all other partition work).
Backup on recovery doesn't work for me too, fail a data step.
If doesn't work i not any idea sorry :/

Thanks guys, newest TWRP works for me
So I've done some testing and after a couple msmdownloadtool sessions I've come to the conclusion that the backup/restore feature in the official and unofficial TWRP for Oneplus 6t (I tested twrp-installer-fajita-3.2.3-1 and TWRP 3.2.3-28 Unofficial by mauronofrio) is borked. If you create a backup of boot, sys, vend, data and then restore it you end up only being able to boot to twrp and encrypted data? Is there currently any way to backup partitions without twrp? I tried flashfire which doesn't work on the 6t. can you backup in fastboot? Is this issue known? I can't seem to find much info on this.
Edit: Is there any alternitives to twrp atm for full backups?

If that's the only reason it breaks then that's good.

Just tried restoring a backup excluding vendor and same issue happens. Boots to twrp and only twrp plus encrypted data
I have tried so many different ways to back up and restore all with problems I have given up. I just use TWRP to flash zips until a Dev or someone with direct knowledge chimes and in responds to a simple question with regard to a proper back up and restore thats all I will use it for.

Yes, after about 3-4 times having to resort to using msmdownloadtool after trying to find out what I was doing wrong. I'm going to do the same. Really wish that would have been listed as an issue on there site. I would have thought something like this would have been noticed by the twrp devs but intill it's fixed or adressed guess that's all we can use it for atm.
Thanks for the reply. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one having issues.
I don't know if it's related or not, but I've read somewhere that while backing up the boot partition it's adviced to remove the screen lock/fingerprint beforehand to avoid some issues during the restore.
Twrp restore is broken.
I don't use it anymore too
