Hi,
My axon 7 (A2017G) is currently running LOS 14.1-20170203-UNOFFICIAL. I was reading up on updating it and gathered that I need to flash an experimental build and then update to the latest nightly to get the latest official version, but I cant seem to find the latest experimental build for the axon 7. Where can I find this?

I'm guessing it's on the unofficial LOS thread? I remember doing that back then. The experimental build has an overlay all over the screen.
I don't know if it's actually needed anyways but if you don't find it I guess you can go back to stock and install the latest nightly manually

Would going stock and then back to LOS be easier do you think?

Lol if you can't find the experimental build I assure you it would be safer...
Use EDL Tool by djkuz, and obviously use an A2017G package (B09 for example). After that flash TWRP and install Lineage with the univ. bootloader, A2017G modem and Magisk, plus gapps i guess

I have already replied same thing on older thread, [ https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/help/quick-questions-kernel-installations-t3794980 ]
if you flash ROM, it will also install kernel which is considered stock for that installed ROM. You need to flash kernel only if you have modified it (by flashing custom kernel or SU zips).
If you want to flash different ROM, you can flash without doing anything else, just wipe and flash.
PS invictaOS is discontinued long ago, invictaOS-Nougat is stable, Oreo will be more bugfull than current available ROMs..

Though these forums are for the Moto G4 Plus, that does suggest an issue with the build of Lineage OS that you're using. Can you confirm with the developer that this build is successfully running on their device? Do you have a compatible Lineage 17 OS based kernel you could try to flash?
Was your device working with other stock or custom ROMs before flashing Lineage 17?
... should I continue using LineageOS 14.1 install on my phone, or should I find a new rom? If so, which one....or should I revert back to stock in the meantime? I am looking for some guidance as to what to do from here on.
I think there is an unofficial version of Lineage that is being maintained. Supposedly, the official Oreo update is coming soon so maybe going back to stock may be best.

You are using a nougat based ROM ,I think you should probably go for pie/oero based ROMs in our forums. And if you like it just stick to it, because it is been frequently updated with latest security patches.
PS: But make sure you fulfill all the requirements before flashing it. Because anything can happen, any time
Hi guys,
Everything was working great with LineageOS 15.1 (Android 8.1), but they have discontinued the support for this version and switched to 16.0, and a FOTA update of Lineage from 15 to 16 isn't possible, so I had to download the zip manually, and flashed it using TWRP, around the end of April. Since then the Wi-Fi does not work.
I should explain what this "does not work" mean: I turn it on (either from the pull-down curtain, or from the Settings -> Network -> Wi-Fi menu), it pretends to switch on for 1-2 seconds, and then the switch turns off by itself, so it doesn't even have time to scan the available networks.
I have tried to burn a newer image again, around the beginning of May, but it didn't fix the Wi-Fi problem. I was googling a lot, but seems like nobody reports such a problem.
Any ideas how to fix it, other than going back to Android 8.1? Preferably I'd like to stay with LOS, but if I have no choice, I can consider moving to RR, or AOSP Extended or whatever.
Thanks!
I think its a boot.img problem. I have seen this error in stock too. The wifi/bluetooth used to turn off immediately after i turned them on and the error was because i flashed the wrong boot.img . If i were you i would clean flash the rom again
What do you mean by "wrong boot.img"? I don't flash any boot.img separately, I just flash the whole LineageOS rom (and then Gapps) from TWRP. Should I flash anything else? I don't think so...
Well, in my case at least the Bluetooth works properly (with both headphones and smart watch).
SOLVED!
Surprisingly, the problem seems to be solved now.
After flashing lineage-16.0-20190426 and later lineage-16.0-20190530 versions, where the Wi-Fi didn't work - today I have flashed lineage-16.0-20190704, and guess what? It is back now!
Thought it should be important to update the thread here.

It would be safer to update to stock pie first then flash custom pie roms..

You mean, even if I upgrade from Lineage 15.1 to 16 I need to flash the stock rom first? Why?
BTW I saw some reports on Wi-Fi problem while going back from custom to stock rom too, and there was some patch suggested to fix it.

Because its a prerequisite on Lineage 16, it depends on parts of stock Pie rom being installed.
The LO16 thread also listed a migration step if you didn't flash the stock Pie rom beforehand.

Its on the xda thread, not on the lineageos website.
Xiaomi made some changes during the upgrade from Oreo->Pie and introduced ARB. Now you cannot downgrade back to Oreo easily. Just flashing back to Oreo(stock or custom rom) will cause the phone to bootloop. For the same reason your phone probably faced issues when you flashed (Pie) LO16 without the Pie firmware.

Well, I did not try to downgrade from Pie to Oreo. All I tried to do was an upgrade from LOS 15.1 to LOS 16 (15.1 worked excellent). And I had no idea I needed to flash the stock rom in between, so I just flashed 16 over 15.1, without wiping the data partition (only wiped dalvik cache).
Can you please point me to the XDA thread you mention, where it says I had to flash the stock rom first?
Anyway, since everything works OK now (or, at least, I don't find any malfunctioning, probably except for the native camera app, so I use an external app), I don't think I should play around with it again, right?

Some parts of the firmware might not be overwritten by LOS/stock depending on the version. The original LO16 used Oreo firmware iirc. The thread is not hard to find, just look for it.
I've been experiencing alot of battery issues in Pixel Experience and thought about changing back to the orignal MIUI Global ROM.
what i need to confirm is:
Can i just flash the file i downloaded from the official site using orangefox recovery? The same Wipe data, cache, dalvik, system. Then flash method?
Can i flash magisk (root it) and still get Offical xiaomi OTA Updates?
If you want to use a stock ROM then why not xiaomi.eu?
coz xiaomi.eu is not on the latest update.
and i want Latest OTA updates

What? No, dude you're just wrong about it, but before I go on, if you want, yes there is a Global Stock Zip that you can flash from any custom recovery and you can flash Magisk after.
About xiaomi.eu yes they have an OTA update and yes they are on the latest version available, both the stable and beta version, as matter of fact they are already on Miui 11 while the global Stock still the Miui 10 version 10.3.4 iirc.

Wait so you mean the xiaomi.Eu's latest 10.3.4.0 is the same as Global 10.3.12.0?
and is their MIUI 11 the final stable version or beta?

No! After you replied I went ahead and checked the right versions.
What I'm saying is that xiaomi.eu is always up to date with the official release.
Now after that where do you even found that ROM (10.3.12)? Are you sure that's that is the right ROM for lavender? If you flash a firmware designed for another phone you will hard brick your device.
Here is the official stock ROM and still V10.3.10.0.PFGMIXM (MIUI10)

Here, from en.miui.com, the global latest is 10.3.12
Xiaomi base on Chinese firmware, which latest stable is 10.3.4.0 and beta is miui 11 9.9.27 ( meaning 27/09/2019)
My xiaomi redmi note 7 device is currently running Android 11 Lineage OS 18.1, and I've been facing an issue in which the phone just freezes randomly, and I'm unable to use it until I force a restart. I faced a similar issue when I was using Cherish OS A12 but it was less frequent. Does anyone have an idea on what the problem could be or how to fix it?
One day something similar happened to me, I recommend you flashing the original firmware of the Redmi Note 7, you can download it from mi community.
I was using cherish, and i didn't have any problem. Before you flash the original firmware, i recommend you to try Project Arcana, it is a good custom rom

Thank you. I actually already flashed the stock MIUI ROM and I didn't notice it anymore. But I don't want to stick with MIUI. I've been using custom ROMs for a while without experiencing this issue. I just don't know why it's an issue now.

Thank you very much. I think I understand now. I'll do that.
UPDATE
I have since flashed the latest firmware and the issue still persists. I also flashed the fastboot ROM of the device to have a fresh start per se, but the issue still returns when I install a custom ROM. Currently on Project Arcana OS, and it's still happening. I have decided to use the ROM without Magisk, because it seems to be the only thing I haven't tried yet, and there haven't been any freezes for almost 24 hours now. I will update this if it happens again.
