HydrogenOS Apps on OxygenOS

Hi guys, this is my first thread on XDA.
I have an OPT and tryed both Oxygen OS and Hydrogen OS and... well, I love H2OS style but I prefer OxygenOS (ui language, native soft touch configuration etc..)
So I though it would be a great idea to port some of stock Hydrogen OS apps in order to make them works on my OPT with O2OS.
I'm not an Android dev, never developed any app, made a custom ROM and never decompiled an apk, till today.
Using JoelDroid tool I deodexed all system apps (app, priv-app and framework) of the lastest H2OS build (actually it's 1.2).
And that's the point.
I managed to install on my OPT oxy the H2 Launcher and some other apps, including the hydrogenos framework, but are full of bugs, so I decided to open this thread in order to find someone who can help me.
Actually the launcher "works", but I can't access to the settings page, can't see the clock widget and some apps are missings like dialer, camera and chrome (but still accessible from the launcher global search).

custom rom

Anyone given this a try yet with OTA updates? this weekend I'll install TWRP and give it a try got some good feedback.

Actually there's another customed rom called mi-globe which I'm testing on right now. So far it's been quite stable and xposed works well too. However there's no ota on this rom.

Seems to be slightly more responsive than the standard EU ROM.

I don't think there'll be much beyond modified stock ROMs for a while ... Xiaomi are getting slower and slower at releasing sources for their devices. There was a time when they were very quick, but some devices look like they'll never have them released, and others take 4-6 months. That and their constantly teasing worldwide releases which don't actually happen, and very restricted band support on their Chinese market devices mean they're an increasingly poor option IMO. Also, they seem intent on releasing half a dozen variations of each device, which just segments and disqualifies development even further, and confuses potential customers. No secret why their sales are tanking so badly.

Trying to install this I keep getting a "symlink ERROR 7"
The EPIC forum suggests installing twice for no error on the second try, but I get an error every time.

I've added the mi-global and epic rom to the flashing guide.
Can anyone tell me if the epic rom uses the chinese theme store with ALL themes, or the limited indian/global theme store with only a small selection of mostly indian themes?

Don't know if this has a place here. But I am about to go to the EPIC ROM 7.1.5 but my TWRP was not responding on the touch screen, either Official, RC1 or RC2 (I am on Xiaomi.eu 6.12.29).
After a bit of digging I found a link to a version of TWRP on the Xiaomi.eu forums. It is called mimixtwrpsmarty, I cant post links (too new)
Tried it and I now have touch screen again in TWRP on mt 6gb/256gb Mi Mix.

Can we flash EPIC ROM from EU (6.12.29) without wiping anything? Or it's necessary to do a clean install for this ROM?

Yeah it's the same old limited theme store on all the English rom.

HaoZeke's LineageOS [3-3-17]

HaoZeke's LineageOS​So I made this for a friend. I usually develop for the Xperia Z5. Install the relevant 7.1.1 gapps.
This is basically LineageOS but with substratum and a network traffic indicator.
I don't honestly know if this is even comparable to the other dev stuff for this device, so don't be too harsh.

Yoga Tab 3 Pro: Signature Spoofing + microG

Since we still don't have any custom ROM/kernel (thanks Lenovo ) and since I firmly believe this tablet has great potential, here is my contribution to make this tablet better and hopefully keep the interest for this device alive on this forum
@Setialpha created a great Magisk module called NanoDroid, which allows in few, easy steps to get rid of all the Google stuff, replace it with open source alternatives (microG FTW) and, as final pleasant side effect, get a better battery life!

I contributed to the project to mainly add support to the "NanoDroid Patcher" (used to automatically enable "Signature spoofing" required by microG, here more info: https://gitlab.com/Nanolx/NanoDroid#signature-spoofing-support) for Android 6 (API 23) and the x86(64) architecture, i.e. to make it compatible also with our tablet!
The support for our tablet will be added in the next releases, so keep an eye on the project thread and be ready to try NanoDroid also on your tablet

Rom to degoogle phone?

I'd like to increase the privacy of my phone. I'm looking for a compatible open source ROM for the Xiaomi Mi 9T with the latest stock android firmware without any bloatware from google or xiaomi. Better if it's a popular ROM so I can find support more easily.

This is the official rom from MicroG based on the latest LineageOS.
I run this now since 2 years. Its awesome. You wil get every month a new build and a notification to update. So you will get allways the latest Android security patches!

Yes that's true but just because a certain developer doesn't want to update to the next Android version, it doesn't mean it's over with LineageOS for davinci.

The nice thing about MicroG is the fact that more apps still work. Yes, many other roms offer signature spoofing which is a prerequisite for microG but it never worked as well for me as the in-house LineageOS rom build from microG itself.

I've installed lineage-17.1-20220105-nightly-davinci-signed.zip. Thanks for the suggestions. Just to be sure, since I'm going to follow the 100% FOSS Smartphone Hardening non-root 4.0 guide now, is all the software in Lineage OS 17.1 FOSS (free and open source software)?

Thing is that the ROM has to become official (i.e. published on the LOS site) before the microG guys start building it. Many developers hesitate to make their version official, because it comes with responsibilities (in maintenance especially).
That said, there is a Magisk module available that adds microG to custom ROMs that seems to work well with LOS.

I've taken a look at rooting the phone to make adaway more energy efficient but since the device has no ramdisk I would have to boot to recovery every time I want to have root enabled. So I'm guessing most people just don't use this phone with root since it would be too inconvenient. And I'd like to know why Lineage OS doesn't offer a simple way to enable root.

I don't use LOS but I guess it uses the stock Xiaomi boot.img
If so, then it is absolutely not needed to install Magisk to recovery - as stated elswhere, patch the boot.img and then you boot directly to Magisk with no problem (don't worry that Magisk says Ramsisk No, patching boot.umg works with no problem)
Regarding to built-in Magisk to custom ROMs (old school) - that is discoursged by TJW Magisk documentation. One of the reason is troubles if user wants to update Magisk

I'm using it with LOS17. 1 (+ microG) and Magisk, I just installed it following the instructions. I'm using stable 23.0 without problems. Magisk even reinstalls itself after OTA updates.

How did you install MicroG? Just want to know if the process is still difficult on a normal LOS.

I just used the prebuilt version from here. New builds are made approx. every 2 weeks, and install OTA.
