Is it possible to have inbuilt scroll through fingerprint? - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

Can we have inbuilt scroll through fingerprint? Like we have seen in pixel devices.. that feature will make android oreo the most of it for our device.. what say?

No, the fingerprint sensor on redmi 3s does not support scrolling, no matter how much you try that feature is impossible to get

scanner gestures feasibility?

Huawei's other flagship phone Honor 7 has some of the craziest features, i was wondering if most are software based, like the tap and swiping gestures in the similarly positioned fingerprint scanner behind for notif. bar pull down or page scrolling etc etc... is it possible to implement it on the nexus 6p? i reallyy hope someone says yes.
I've been wondering the same thing. The 6P's scanner is the same square sensor on Huawei's other devices, I would think the software features just need to be implemented somehow.
Wondering that too. Would love those gestures on nexus 6p

App to use fingerprint sensor for gesture actions?

There are several apps that are suppose to work with the fingerprint sensor to add gestures, but I think because the Note 4 has the older swipe fingerprint method, none of them work.
Is there a way to make use of the fingerprint sensor?
I can already create gestures other ways, but the fingerprint would be useful for gestures such as scrolling, volume control, media playback control etc.

I was looking for it, too.
I think it needs a new API, which comes only in Android 7...so, Note 4 hasn't received Nougat, the old API won't work for gestures or actions using the fingerprint sensor...only to unlock the phone.
Don't know if Nougat custom roms for Note 4 have the new API implemented, if so, then it will work...since these roms can offer fingerprint unlock like stock roms...

Fingerprint swipe gestures on Oreo rom

My question is simple..
Why fingerprint swipe gestures was not working on Our Redmi 3s prime running Lineageos Oreo Rom..
All I need to know is, does our redmi 3s prime supports fingerprint swipe direction gestures on Oreo roms??
If it doesn't why, whether it's because of fpc, goodix thing or because of fingerprint gesture controller API not added in custom Rom source??
My answer is simple too.
Use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superthomaslab.fingerprintgestures
What??
What??
What??
I know and used fingerprint quick action and fingerprint gesture ( both for android 6+)apps that we can only use for fp tap, double tap and fast swipe gesture.
You didn't understood my question bro, I'm talking about fingerprint direction swipe gestures which was introduced on Oreo roms ( android 8+) which means you can assign an action for different different swipes such as swipe left, right, up and down..
That's not working on Our Redmi 3s prime running Oreo roms and why it's not working??
@admins, why no one answering this question??

Is Pie Beta Worth It?

Hi! I have a Zenfone Max Pro M1, and I really want to update it to Pie. The only thing that's holding me back is the lack of Gcam. Should I update it now and loose Gcam, or should I wait for a stable version that may include Cam2Api?

There are 3 bugs
1. Cam2API not enabling/Gcam not working.
2. PUBG HD not working.
3. Audio output via Headphone is slightly lower than Oreo builds.
Apart from that everything is as stable as Oreo if not better.
Choice is yours if you can cope with those bugs or not. For eg. for a non-gamer like me those bugs hardly matter, Pie is good for daily driver for me.

Zenfone Max Pro M1 Pie Beta Review Points
Cons.
GCAM not working, even after the hal3 enable command.
Audio output via headphones is slightly lower.
Pie navigation bar has overlapping icons and recent app slider is not optimised.
PUBG not available in HD settings.
If you are in roaming, the icon on status bar will have overlapping icon for 'R' and '4G'.
Split-view in not easy access. Now from the recent apps screen you have to tap-hold the app icon above the app card and then select split-view to enter the split-screen.
Pros.
Apps opening slightly faster.
Animations are better.
Once the system is free of bugs, the whole thing will work better then Oreo.
Till then wait for the stable release and stick to Oreo.
Personally I miss GCAM, rest I don't mind.
P.S.

One more issue is night light is not working although it's present in the developer option. Screen brightness seems too much for night.
Apps opening seems faster because animations scales set to . 5x default in the developer section.

I don't play Pubg and I don't listen to music, my only real concern is Gcam. I just wanted to know if the update compensates the lack of Gcam, but thank you very much, because I didn't know about the audio bug! ?

Personally, I could deal with all those bugs, but I really like Gcam. If it was available on this Beta, I would not think twice before updating. But thank you very much for the information!

On-screen finger print for app lock ?

Hii to all 9T users...
Can we use on-screen fingerprint reader in app lock settings. To lock and unlock apps does 9T have the option of doing it via on-screen fingerprint, if yes how fast it is as compared to traditional fingerprint readers ?
Fellow 9T users share your views.
Hello,
Yes you can do that with every app installed on the phone even stock MIUI apps (settings, pictures viewer...). You can unlock them with fingerprint/schema and choose to hide notifications too !
The fingerprint unlock is as fast as the phone unlock in standby.
