I already read the article, but the info given there is not helping me, also I have personally contacted Motorola about the issue, they tossed my device in different service centers to no avail and in the end they said that their R&D team is working on the issue after that no reply.

As long as you don't ask people for their Imei or demand to pay, I think there won't be much of a problem.
You or your friend can contact the moderators that are responsible for this area. The contact list can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nex...ntact-list-t3207927/post62942301#post62942301
Changing IMEI is a topic you have to be very careful about. If the unlock method is done and presented right, I believe that there is a chance to get it approved by forum moderators. Good luck, a lot of people are looking for unlock.

I am sorry but IMEI changing is illegal in many countries therefore cannot be discussed on this site. Sorry.
Thanks for asking first.

Unlocking Bootloader

I cannot seem to get the unlock bootloader page to load on Huawei's website. It keeps giving me a 'Server too busy, try again later' message. I have been trying for 2 weeks.
Huawei's support doesnt seem to understand me via email.
Is it being blocked somehow by my ISP? i havent seen anyone else report on this
i don't know if i can... some moderators maybe can shed some light.. if i make a thread to help others to unlock bootloader's and they give me their phone info's... on private of course, it's prohibited?
Well the question is can you get to the page to unlock the bootloader on huaweis website?

Trouble unlocking bootloader

I've been searching like a madman trying to figure out why I cannot unlock my bootloader, I have followed Heisenberg's How-To Guide For Beginners to the T and when I get to Motorola's website to get the unlock code I get this message "your device does not qualify for bootloader unlocking". My device is one of the one's listed on their website as being able to be unlocked. Can anyone help me figure this out?
Contact Motorola.

I did through chat they gave me a number to call because the person I spoke with couldn't figure it out, I just don't want them to know that I am unlocking it and put me down as a voided warranty. Just figured I'd ask here first before contacted them.

Well, you can't get an unlock code from Moto AND keep your warranty. You don't even have to use it.. once you request it, warranty is gone. Not sure how hard-a$$ed they are about it, but they sure give plenty of warnings during the process.

Good to know, thanks. It's not worth it right now then I'm still covered under warranty for another 8 months and just had to send the phone out for repairs to the USB charging port.

Just call, the warranty will be canceled, but if you relock the bootloader the recovery will tell you, so, just call and get the code, unclock that thing and welcome to the good world of guys with no time :V. Keep us updated.

Your post is in the correct forum (Yep - G4 Play; don't understand @strongst's response). Unfortunately, don't have a fix as I would not have followed that procedure. Not saying it was 'wrong' just would have gone a different path. Which variant do you have (eg: X1607)?

I did not encounter any problems on two 1607's. Be sure to read up on post unlock procedures if you plan to install TWRP and/or a custom ROM.

You should check if your bootloader can be unlocked, visit the website of Motorola or research in Google. If you bought your phone in Amazon I don´t recomend you to unlock it because you will damage it as I did with mine.
solucion : instala twrp y ponle su rom stock

Product ID Generator

Product ID Generator
Hi everyone, in case anyone of you want to unlock your bootloader now that the page is back up, you know that you'll need to get the product ID from EMUI.
if your device is bricked and you can only get to fastboot, you'll be unable to read it! I wanted to solve that problem, and that's why I've launched a product ID generator.
In order to use it, go here and type your serial number (you can read it with 'fastboot oem get-psid').
In a matter of seconds you'll have your product ID and you'll be able to unlock your bootloader!
PS: The page may be a bit slow, since the server is not as powerful as it should, I'll fix that!
I hope you find it useful.

https://www.emui.com/en/unlock_index - You'll still need an account to access it and from what I understand, it'll only be working for 60 days after it was updated(I believe it was updated 3 days ago? So about 56/57 more days.)
As for OP, is the website down right now? Was heading over to it, but wasn't able to load the page. Thanks in advanced, though!

Product I'd can be read from phone without this. But was only needed to use the hauwei unlock website which is no longer online.

I'm trying to put twrp on this phone, but it seems locked. Is the product ID what I need to achieve my goal? If so, can you point me in the right direction? In another thread (ongoing), someone suggested DC unlocker. Is that the only way?

No, product ID will not help you unlock your device. As of now the only way I am aware of to unlock is the paid service such as dc-unlocker.
