I guess it's more system problem than hardware, but I dunno where I should put this. So, I don't know why, but I discovered that all the fonts on my phone looks the same. I wanted to change font in my snap, and there's this "font picker", where Old English is. But for me, it was still the default font(Roboto, I assume). I thought it was Snapchat's fault, so I reinstalled it, but problem remained. Then I downloaded some fonts and tried to change font by FontFix, but I looked at font viewer and I noticed all the fonts look the same. I mean, every one of them looks like Roboto. Even not downloaded yet fonts look like default one. As my phone is rooted, I checked if everything is ok in /system/fonts, and seems like it. Is there any solution for me?

So I followed the steps here and my icons look so big and beautiful only problem is whenever I use anything but the default 240 size the dialer crashes and cannot be used whatsoever, anyone know how to fix this????
"use root explorer and edit /system/build.prop
find:
Quote:
ro.sf.lcd_density=240
Change the 240 to 260 (or something else), save the file, and reboot the phone
A Higher # will make everything BIGGER, including icons, fonts, etc
A lower # will make everything smaller"
Please somebody. Has anybody done this edit before??? Thanks
there must be another setting to change to get the Dialer to work. i tried 248 and 275 (listed in the build.prop file) and it didn't work for me either. on my other android devices, i would simply find a font file and rename to DroidSans.ttf and DroidSans-Bold.ttf and then copy to /system/fonts/. i tried this on my first Atrix and it went into a continuous boot loop. i had to exchange for another device. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID!

The Atrix checks and rechecks all files on every boot so this will brick your phone if the files dont match

yep! i can testify to that, lol! makes me appreciate the ease of root and customization for my Nexus One (will never give it up!) and my wife's Inspire4G. i'd also like to punt this MotoBlah crap! i'm using Enhanced Email and the Blah contacts app is disabling my ability to select accounts i want to use to add new contacts...
not holding my breath on this, but i hope Moto makes good to unlock the bootloader and allow us to customize our devices.

Well the only thing i can see so far that has been negatively affected is the dialer. Everything else works fine.
With the higher resolution the icons have shrunk and to me look a little disproportionate on the ATRIX. This makes it look really nice and well spaced.
Hey Guys
Due to the Honeycomb Architecture, is it possible to change the fonts on the Xoom, I’ve searched the forums and haven’t found anything for the xoom in flashing fonts etc,
Obviously to play with key android files, you need to be rooted, in which I am I might add. But where is the key file?

Try an App from the Market...Custom Android Font Switcher. Lousy name, but very accurate. The app works even if it is a bit "no frills", and comes with an impressive set of "Creative Commons" fonts. Many are a bit too decorative for everyday use, but there are several which are good replacements for the stock font on the Xoom.

Another one I like-Absolute System Tools-has a whole suite of useful apps but that's the one I use for selecting fonts.
this is pretty cool (I JUST CHANGED ALL MY FONTS THE STYLE FROM THE HITMAN MOVIE). I AM JUST WONDERING IF ITS possible to also change font size or bold/italics. Etc.
Although I think this font looks cool, I am gonna have to change again because it appears to only be in all caps
edit: interesting. i just checked this post from my computer and see that some of the text i wrote while on my xoom came uot in all caps and some didnt. On the xoom everything is caps. hmmm
Dear all,
I am having problem with the font size of message thread view since updating to Gingerbread, the font size is now quite big.
Is there any way to decrease it?
PS: I search the forum and try to find settings in the phone, but could not get one solutions.
Thanks you in advance.
Fantisto
I was also looking for some settings on this but with no luck, maybe just install Handcent and be done with it eh XD
I think the font size is standard among their current devices, for better visibility

It can only be done by decompiling the apk and changing some xml values.
If anyone is interested, I can do it pretty easily.
Just send me the apk.
If u've got root you can make everything on ur phone smaller.
Edit /system/build.prop
Change ro.sf.lcd_density=240 to
ro.sf.lcd_density=200
It may cause some graphical glighes in badly programmed apps that expect the same screen size including some of the android pop up boxes and some stock SE apps. For example gaps may appear or not all the screen is used but most apps work fine and its def worth it for me at least.
Everything (font) seems to be fine besides message threadview... It cannot fit many message in one screen...

This is an issue that I have had since I got the phone.
As I have gotten older, my eyes have gotten worse, so I need glasses to read small print. I can read my text messages just fine, but I have trouble reading many of my emails. The font is just too small. This stinks, since I don't carry reading glasses around. I contacted Samsung customer service about how to increase the size of the font, and they said that it cannot be done. The size of the font is set in stone. I do not believe this is a problem on other Samsung Galaxy S phones, and from I can tell the new Froyo update did not provided a fix.
Anyone else find this annoying? Anyone know of a way to get around this problem. Too bad you can't tap the screen to enlarge the font.

All i can think of is changing the screen density, but...will also make parts of the screen not visible, so if you do go this route, only do increments of 10, i am not sure if our phone supports font swap but i will look into it asap.

Pat tried to change the screen density, in Miunia and it had all sorts of wierd consequences. Not to mention, you'd have to be rooted, and edit build prop to do it. It might be easier (If you are rooted) to get into the apk and change the font sizes in drawable. How large do you want it? And are you rooted? If so, I'll see about decompiling and tweaking it. Also, which e'mail app are you referring to? stock e'mail, or Gmail or what?
Email font
Yes, I am rooted.
I an using the email client provided by Verizon. It connects to my pop3 accounts As far as font size 10 would be good 12 would be better. Getting a new email app might work. Are you using one that allows enlarging of the font. Can you recommend an email app that enlarges the font?
Hey guys, I know the popular thing to do is unbranding, but I installed a stock rom from Spain that comes with some Vodafone stuff like 360 updates. Thing is, even though I'm a Vodafone customer in Portugal, it doesn't work. It says it can't display the services.
I tried editing the build.prop to match a branded Vodafone phone, like the Galaxy Ace, but the phone just goes crazy and the screen starts flashing white. Any ideas? Please help, I've searched everywhere.
EDIT: If anyone's interested, I managed to tweak build.prop a bit, but it's tricky. I used ES file explorer, but had to change the permissions back to default every time I edited the file. Not everything can be changed, some things make the screen blink white. I managed to install appselect and get it working, not 360 updates, though.
yeah, the white flashing screen will show up if you changed the modem from "GT-I5800" or "GT-I5801" to something else....:\
