According to a Mod on Z-Community there should be an update being pushed out shortly. If anyone gets the update can provide the change log that would be appreciated. And if you do the update please let us know if the UI has changed. Still waiting on my axon 7, hopefully it ships tomorrow.
We need someone to capture this update before it's installed.
Always thank those who are helpful...and just ignore those who aren't.
I'll be curious if anyone with an unlocked bootloader can get this ota.

well if in case that is not possible if someone can capture the OTA i bet we can find a way how to apply the OTA with an unlock bootloader.
that would be great if someone can do that!!

It should be possible to patch most everything -- however, if any of the partition hashes don't match, those partitions couldn't be patched. That would make minemeat out of the partition if you forced it, since they are updating blocks, and not direct files.

You will get the OTA. You just can't install it if your recovery is modified or is TWRP.

No, the bootloader unlocking process changes more than just the recovery. It changes boot, system, and fastboot as well. So even if you reflash a stock recovery, if the OTA tries to patch any of those other partitions, it'll fail. This is why people have been clamouring ZTE to post full system images, so people who unlocked their BL can roll back to full stock in order to get OTAs.
Plus, we don't know if ZTE will use the IMEIs of people who officially submitted a bootloader unlock as exceptions to the OTA rollout.

They have to be using a list like that. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to roll out the bootloader unlock OTA to the right phones.
Which of course, is still silly -- they should have used the method others use where it's just baked into the OS and you have to request the appropriate code to provide during unlock. Then everyone would be on the same software load.
I am on my new stock phone I just picked up from Best Buy yesterday. I check the updates screen and it shows MiFavor 4.0 and my current version of B20. I haven't hit next yet but how would I capture the OTA?
I am t work with super slow wifi so I don't want to download anything here.

B20 is the latest as of today. There's an update coming soon per ZTE. They didn't give us a date.
Sent from my ZTE A2017U using XDA-Developers mobile app
I guess by soon they didn't mean within a few days...Usually when companies say soon it's within 24 hrs.
According to the official forums, the MR2 update has been pushed back to next week.
Update:
Due to a few last minute software optimizations, the update will be pushed until mid to late next week.
Give your fingers a rest. We will update the community when the update goes live.

I'm still on stock. How would I go about capturing the OTA when it's released next week?
Also, it looks like the bootloader unlock request form on the ZTE site is no longer available, but instead says: "The form AXON 7/Pro Bootloader Unlock Request is no longer accepting responses. Try contacting the owner of the form if you think this is a mistake."
That could mean something significant (free bootloader unlocks for everyone with no voiding of warranty!) or it could mean that they borked something on the backend (I think it was a Google form, so any number of things could have changed that caused the form to disappear).

If you are running and adb logcat on your computer (or your phone) when you check for and/or download the OTA, the full link for the OTA should be in there somewhere. Or, to just save the file, after you download it but before you apply it, you can copy it off of the internal sd card partition. Getting the download location is better though, then people can download it directly for themselves.

This is Coming from a ZTE-Employee which many of us know him from ZTE-Community
sshasan Employee 13 minutes ago
ZTE has not changed their opinion on unlocking the bootloader. The bootloader will still be unlockable.
I have temporarily stopped the form from accepting new requests for good reason.
1.) The process for unlocking the bootloader will be changing if all goes well with testing. (This includes stock image)
2.) There is a software update coming next week - Since stock images have not yet been released, instead of adding more customers to the mix of those who will not be able to update, I've decided to not let this happen.

so that is GREAT news and something else meaning Unlock Bootloader Request or process will be different
Hi everybody,
this is my first post so please forgive any "incorrect habit" might come out of this post.
My situation is the following: I bought a Huawei Nova smartphone about a week ago. It comes with Vodafone brand and the complete build model is CAN-L01C02B130CUSTC02D014.
I read lots of forum posts and blogs over the web and what I learned is that:
- L01 means single sim;
- C02 means that is branded Vodafone;
- B130 is the firmware version;
- CUSTC02D014 is the custom build with the debug version.
I want to debrand my smartphone (without unlocking or rooting it, if possible) so I downloaded FirmwareFinder and, from there, I fetched every firmware compatible with CAN-L01 following to my build model (made on 2016-09-14). Unfortunately, I was not able to install any of those firmwares (very strange).
Given the above-mentioned information, here are my questions:
1 - is it possible to debrand my smartphone without unlocking and rooting?
2 - is it really possible that every firmware made after mine (on 2016-09-14) failed to install?
3 - how can I pick a compatible firmware?
4 - someone wrote that before installing a more recent firmware, one must debrand by downgrading and then (only then) update the firmware itself. Is it true?
Thank you very much,
Valerio

I think that is better not to install it using the three button method. If you going to do it, at least have a nandroid backup, assuming you unlocked your bootloader and installed the twrp.
One other way to try, requires a unlocked bootloader too, huawei extract tool and then flash system.img and boot.img at least.
I linked the source, but Idk if it is going to work and requeries courage to do this :/
Edit: sadly, wait for the official upgrad is the most safer thing to do right now

Thank you so much for the link! I think it should go flawlessly as long as it is compatible with CAN-L01 (and it actually is). The only thing that stops is that it is a test build...maybe I'll wait the official release too.

Which is the last official OTA checking from update system for this model VKY-L09C432?
I have had only the OTA 123. But I see with ff also 125 and 130 but not from system update.
Thanks
Updates seem to be pushed by location. If youre outside of the intended c432 area, you might be waiting awhile. You could try VPN, or there is always funky Huawei

Which region / location are you in?
Just Unboxed my unbranded P10+ , and out of the box its on 120.. but no b130 OTA.. ... Im in UK, which is c432 region.. but as Goranock pointed out.. Huawei do OTA via location..
You could try downloadiong Huawei's HiSuite and trying an update
Im a little cautious about manually flashing Hauwei roms... I used to have a P9, but flashing a stock C432 Rom on a stock C432 device changed it to a C900.. which renders it useless to Stock OTAs and Android Pay.. according to some XDA modders.. the C900 on the P9 was a test / safe mode rom.. not a consumer rom,, so be careful .. although I cant say what the P10+ would do, but Im net messing with any Hauwei roms.. Ive even read of folk flashing a stock rom.. and bricking their P9.... just a word of caution
Hope UK gets it soon
I am a bit puzzled that the updates are not more of an issue here. I think it's really annoying that currently there seem to be no other ways for manually initiating the update than to use (the way too expensive) funkyhuawei or to unlock bootloader. Did anyone manage to successfully initiate an update by using a VPN and if so what location do I use to do so?

Yes, thank you, I know about that way though but the thing is I dont want to even have to unlock the bootloader in the first place, even if it ends up being locked/relocked afterwards. Personally that's just too much of a hassle just to install updates in my book. But since you said you are from Italy and you obviously already have received the update I'm gonna try and use an Italian VPN to try and see if I can at least upgrade to B123 then. Even though I feel that's a bit ridiculous now that not only B130 but also B133 seems to be out already. By the speed they are distributing their updates OTA I'm probably not gonna till B133 by autumn or something...
Edit: nope, tried several European countries, obviously VPN doesn't help...
Just wondering : what's the changelog for B133 ?
Pretty new to Huawei's firmware here... on the russian FF site I don't see it.

I have an Honor 7X and it has caused me incredible amount of stress and waste of time trying to get Oreo. I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT.
I had been trying to use the software updater to check for Oreo for months and it always said I had the latest software - which isn't true. I also used Hi Suite to no avail. I just registered my phone with Huawei and it updated. I am not sure if your third phone is unregistered, but make an account with them and check. I wasted so much time, bricked my phone, paid for DC Unlocker, tried to flash Oreo stock etc... finally I have it the legitimate way.
Now, the next thing I would like to do is install an Oreo custom rom - but I am not paying more money to DC Unlocker. If anyone wants me account details for the DC Unlock to recover their bricked phone, I have 2 days left and will provide info.

That looks reall promising.
Also my BL locked honor 7x has the ancient version B101 !! Thats the version which it comes with.
Tried several things and didn't managed it to update to oreo (Firmware FInder with DNS & Proxy, Factory reset, ...)
Your approach sound promising.
Did you register the phone on www.hihonor.com ?
When you register the phone, did you wait some time before checking for system update again?
Thank you

Thanks for your suggestions!
I am also stuck @ B101 version since ages (12/2017).
1. hurupdater just works if BL is unlocked. I have no BL unlock and also will leave it as it is
2. This approach does'nt either! Have tested DNS & VPN method, the device is seeing the update but always states "Update Package error" (just from mind, did'nt remind me of the correct message)
Have tested this with several packages where FF always states that it is approved.
So the OPs approach seems maybe an solution/workaround.
The update was immediate after I registered. However, I have thought about the process I took.
I tried several times using various methods of updating to oreo... and finally I bricked the phone.
I then downloaded DC Unlocker and paid to unbrick the phone and tried to flash official stock rom for Oreo. It didn't work.
I then flashed official stock raught rom and the phone unbricked. I made an account with huawei and registered the phone. Immediately the update for oreo popped up.
My thoughts - either I was using a modified rom which the vendor installed and this prevented an update to oreo, or I just needed to register.
My advice - try registering an account with huawei and if you don't get an update, try flashing official stock rom with no modifications. Also make sure the stock rom is designed for your particular phone - I learnt the hard way and bricked the phone. But in the end, many hours later and 18 euros later I have Oreo.
Yes it true, Android Pie should be available soon - but I believe if you can't get Android 8, it's unlikely the phone will update to 9.
Huawei has made it very difficult for people with their restriction on unlocking bootloader - very very disappointed. My main phone is Huawei P20 Pro and I am very happy with it, but the Honor 7x is a potentially amazing phone... just disappointed with a few things. I would have kept the Honor 7x if the camera was a bit better and would have no problem in paying a bit more.
Best wishes guys. I still have access to DC Unlocker if anyone wants it - think it has a day left.

I paid for 3 days access to the software, and I have 1 day left. If you find that after registering your phone it does not update to oreo, and you want use it to flash official stock rom for your phone, let me know. I have 1 day left of using the software.

I would suggest flashing stock rom first - what is your firmware? I am on BND-AL10
I am on BND-L21 modell and fiormware is BND-L21C432B101, its stock, never done anything regarding firmware (because it dont work .
How can i archive this?
Sorry not much experience with honor/huawei devices.

I don't have a lot of time right now as I am heading out...
But download the exact stock Naught rom for you phone - very very important. Don't try Oreo as it won't work. The file should be an official version without any modifications.
I used this website: http://huawei-firmware.com/phone-list/huawei-honor-7x
Also, make sure it is the full OTA (should be about 1.65GB). The file is a zip. You will need to extract the update.app file from the zip.
The DC Unlocker software uses the update.app file from the zip.
Once you have download both the DC Unlocker and official stock rom as outlined above, connect your phone in fastboot mode and flash the update.app to the phone. You will then have the official stock rom. By the way, please back everything up on your phone - I would suggest to a computer.
Then register the phone with the Huawei with your ID and Oreo should download. I will PM you the login details for my DC Unlocker account. I can tell you now - it won't unlock the bootloader, I don't have enough credits for it. I just bought enough to unbrick the phone.
Finally, I can't take responsibility for anything - I am just telling you what I did when 1) I couldn't update to Oreo, 2) I had my phone bricked, and 3) I now have Oreo.
I hope it helps you and anyone else facing this issue.

To be honest, I don't know which one would be suitable for your phone. I made my guess based on the fact that you have a BND-L21 model. Also I was looking out for "FullOTA-MF" rom and also one which I think is Naught.
These are the main factors which I took into account which got my phone unbricked and using the official stock rom rather than a custom one which the vendor modified before I bought it. I have doubled checked, you have about 23 hours with the DC Unlocker to play around...
By the way, you extract the update file from the zip, that is the only file you'll need from the zip

I cannot find the download link from oneplus so I can get the system and boot images to update my rooted phone. I hate Oneplus....they do not list these links anyplace. Can someone please post. Thank you.
I think this update brings the 5G band n41 to our device if the new band specs on T-Mobile's listing for our phone is anything to go by.

N41 has been enabled on this phone since .31. This update might bring the N66/N2 which we had pass through the FCC a few months ago.

Mines haven't either
I added the reserve.img back as directed but mine is not pulling it up either. This is why I hate oneplus. With a pixel, you got the link, downloaded it, and flashed it. They are never posting anything on their website. Matter of fact, our model does not even show up on the support page.

Your device (T-Mo variant) lacks local update feature in Settings->System->System Updates like 6T, 7 Pro and 7T, 8 T-Mobile and 8 Verizon editions, hence why it isn't listed on support website since you can't officially flash builds by yourself.

Ummmm I have a rooted device and can flash it manually as I have done on many other oneplus phones. The OOS files are just not published with links sadly.
These links are listed for the non 5G phone : https://forum.xda-developers.com/7t-pro/how-to/oneplus-7t-pro-repo-oxygen-os-builds-t4003455
Sadly we do not have a dev that lists them for our phone. I am trying to get more info.

No you can't? There is no such local update screen with devices bought from T-Mobile.

Full zips are just not provided by OnePlus even by OTA for carrier devices (exception being Android major updates eg when Android 11 will be released), only incremental ones are provided. More info at https://www.xda-developers.com/dont...s-7t-pro-mclaren-bootloader-oxygenos-updates/
As a sidenote I'm the OP of the thread you just linked.

I have a rooted phone and want to get this update file. It is not that complex. If I was on any other oneplus phone that was not specialized for 5G, I could get the info needed. I dont know why you think this is hard to do? I gave you a few examples from the other forum

Are you even reading his responses? Those examples came from him.
Even if you had the OTA URL and file captured, you can't flash it. It'll brick your phone unless it goes through the update menu. They are incremental updates that check file integrity. They are not full updates. You cannot flash updates on this phone. Period.
If you have an MSM, that's different. But we don't have that either. Right now, all we can do is wait.
I am rooted

I can apply it via fastboot. And I have done so many times. For the 7 pro for example. This whole wrinkle with 5G and reserve.img really sucks. I am sorry but this is very frustrating. I want simply to be rooted for many reasons and without even flashing custom ROM....and now it looks like being rooted is causing more harm than good. I guess I get nothing from being rooted. I am contemplating just using MSM to go backwards and unroot.

From the very own article written by XDA Portal I linked to:
So what’s the problem here? The T-Mobile OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren Edition, unlike most other OnePlus devices, does not have full firmware ZIPs available from OnePlus’s website. So with an unlocked bootloader barring you from taking incremental updates and no full ZIPs to take, you will be stuck on whatever OxygenOS build your phone is running if you decide to pull ahead and unlock your bootloader. The regular OnePlus 7T Pro does have full ZIPs available for downloading, but you can’t take those on this device since it’s carrier-branded and it’s T-Mobile – not OnePlus – who is responsible for the device’s OxygenOS firmware.

There is MSM that works for most oneplus phones. And the Hydrogen image for .34 so I might just do that and unroot.

LL Starks is right. MSM has been locked into specific devices starting with this device and going forward. With the 7 Pro, it was different because MSM was still universal for it. It won't work if you try using a Hydrogen MSM tool for a T-Mobile 5G variant. I know it's easy to get frustrated, but you're gonna brick your phone if you don't listen to reason or people who know what they're talking about. Not trying to sound harsh, but that's the simple truth.

You're confusing several different topics.
No, you cannot manually install OTAs on OnePlus devices from TMO. It worked on the 6T at first, but then the Local Update option was removed in an update. You might be able to sideload through a modified stock recovery, if someone with root can grab the OTA after it downloads, but before it installs, since it will be deleted after.
Yes, there is a HydrogenOS MSM image. No, you cannot flash it on the HD1925 (hotdogg) TMO variant.
Yes, there are several MSM images for our TMO variant. Running any of them will lock your bootloader and restore to stock. When you unlock again after, you will once again be missing the reserve.img needed to accept OTAs.
There are downloadable zips that replace the missing reserve.img needed to accept an OTA. I didn't create the first couple, but I did make ones for .27 -> .31 and .31 -> .34.
Regardless of what build you are on now, a missing reserve.img will not prevent you from seeing an update. Your phone will download it even if you are rooted. However, it will fail to install once it gets to the part where it updates reserve.img.
Ok so what do you recommend?

Do I restore the reserve.img with the script and tools in that other thread? I did that actually. You are saying I should be able to get the update, and it will unroot me afterwards? I could use magisk to say install to inactive slot after OTA before rebooting though right? I still am not getting the update OTA...I clicked check a bunch of times. Maybe I am not in the queue for this round.

If you already restored your reserve.img, then the OTA should install once your phone gets it. Some people have been able to update without unrooting, but I do it to be safe. I go into Magisk and choose to restore boot images, but not uninstall. This allows any downloaded modules to remain and not have to be configured again when you root after update.
Once you restore boot images and reboot, the OTA should install and then reboot again. I then repeat the original root steps by pulling an updated boot.img through TWRP, and am back up and running in less than 15 minutes.
