Hi, I own a P9 lite 2016 device and I like custom Roms as Lineage or RessurectionRemix but... On any of this Roms, my device won't recognise my Sim (I allready tried all the tutorials known). So, after some digging on the almighty internet, I find out that those custom Roms will only work if your SIM is actually a Usim. Strange... So, If anyone can confirm this, please do it. I have a normal SIM and If is true, i will change it to a Usim, but this will cost me time and money. So please, help a fellow P9 lite user. (Sorry for my english)
Well , I don't know , but turning off Dual SIM from Extra Settings (or something like that) worked for me when I used a custom ROM.
Thank you for response, but I allready tried that. I even made some changes in phone.prop as HassanMirza01 said in every Rom posted...
Same problem here

Hello all,
I just inherited a Samsung GT-S5360L phone from my father and i wanted to try some roms. Some of the available roms seem pretty cool, but i have noticed a small detail, my phone model ends with an L, and the roms available dont.
This is probably because my cellphone is a southamerican model. So, My main question is, what should i check before flashing a rom into my S5360L in order to avoid problems?
I am mainly worried about loosing the 3G signal (or the whole phone signal) if i flash an incorrect rom. I read some posts that said that i should use a specic CSC.
Can anyone explain to me a litle more about this? Do i need to flash the ROM and my original CSC files in order for the rom to work with my operators, or the process is different?
Thanks in advance.
Solution!
Sir,
You must have bought your Galaxy Y with some Carrier! That why it end with a "L", But that does not matter! To prevent bricking ur phone just follow the correct installation instruction.. If you brick your GY there is a guide in the general section to restore back! Make a Nandroid Backup first of all and then Flash GT-S5360 Firmware (The one preferred in the Rom's installation guide I hope this helps! As much as I know, all roms will work :fingers-crossed:
Best Regards,

to ensure installation success please download "Galaxy Toolbox" by doky in the playstore and unlock your network (if it is sim/carrier locked)
then follow all instructions provided by the rom authors to ensure success,
if in case all else fails just reflash to a stock rom via odin, not to worry since any stock rom will do
thanks for the information guys. I know any rom should work, i do it in mi LG Optimus2x but i had a samsung phone before (galaxy spica) and i had some troubles after flashing some custom roms, where i would only be able to have 2G signal and not 3G, or in some cases have no connectivity at all. I will give some roms a try and see how everyhting goes (and do a backup first, hehehe).
thanks again.
Technically both phones are same except the number of SIMs.
Can we do it ? Thanks.

Hi,
There are hardware differences, and installing that ROM to your device will permanantly brick your phone. There are methods that can be used to port ROMS but this even results in issues.

I have an i9502 and have successfully flashed a stock i9500 ROM on it. Stating the obvious though, you LOSE functionality on the 2nd SIM slot. Other than that, the device works perfectly fine.
The only reason I bought the i9502 was because it was the only one available with 32GB internal. The 32GB was more important to me than the 2nd SIM
FYI, I used ODIN to flash the ROM.

This is something very useful information. As so far on all forums on web, people are saying that it is not possible and it will brick the phone.
now you came up with some thing new that the only loss is that of 2nd sim functionality.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

No problem. Yup, I searched through all the forums as well and all said the same thing (it will brick your phone). I took a chance anyway because the hardware is almost identical and thought it would be worth trying.
Got lucky I can confirm that i9500 ROM does work on i9502 (again, keep in mind you will lose 2nd SIM)

Its a relief to know this so thanks a lot for subjecting your I9502 to a guinea-pig test. The anxious wait is for a modified Rom for the I9502 with both SIMs functioning. That would make me smile forever and ever!

Hi Jerry,
Yes, if you flash back the stock i9502 rom or a variant of the i9502 stock rom, you should get back dual sim functionality without any problems.

Hello everybody I' ve tried to install i9500 rom on my i9502 via twrp, the installatione went fine it boot and restored my google account and apps BUT my mobile network doesn' t want to connect, the phone ask me for the pin but i can' t make calls. So I was wondering if installing the modem i9502 could solve my problem
Sent from my GT-I9502 using XDA Free mobile app
You can use only one sim with i9500 rom.
I try a few ROM i9500, but no one have a drivers for dual sim
I' ve managed to have the dual sim functionality, but i don' t know how I' ve done multiples attemps adding the modem files and suddenly it work, i' ve the two sim working but on the other hand i' ve got big instability of the whole rom with random reboot and fc, the rom was aurora rom. Unfortunately I'm no longer able to repeat the procedure just one question when i flash i9500 rom the sim that works is the one on the left of the flash?
Yes, or first slot (3G slot)
Can anybody help me root my new phone? I picked it up in China and of course come home to the US and find that the native Huawei EMUI 3.1 makes the phone basically unusable due to 1) the native apps being mostly in Chinese, and 2) I cannot install any Google apps.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

This rom works just no data. no sim card. http://forum.xda-developers.com/s6-edge-plus/orig-development/cyanogenmod-13-unofficial-t3384252
Not sure if it works, has anyone tried moving the two files from your stock ROM namely
i) /system/lib64/libsec-ril.so
ii)/system/lib64/libsec-ril-dsds.so (if available)
to any of custom ROM? It works for me with most of the custom ROMs here in xda. My phone is SM-G9287C which is dual sim and most of the custom ROMs here don't officially support the dual sim phone.
If sim/data signal still not appearing, get a supported kernel or write this line without the quote in your build.prop (after performing the above methods) "rild.libpath2=/system/lib64/libsec-ril-dsds.so", then restart your phone.
If you wanna try this, please do it at your own risk, I bear no responsibility for whatever to your phone.
not sure if anyone has tried any of that. I wouldnt know how to do that lol. also no kernel as far as I know for our model that will work
sorry to bump this, but Im sure more people would love to see some type of custom kernel and rom for our model phones. Anyone here able to make this happen? Also didnt find /system/lib64/libsec-ril-dsds.so but did find /system/lib64/libsec-ril.so. @fenrir_ac

Hi guys,
I'm a little noob with geek stuff but still I like to do it by myself.
Story: I went abroad for a six months trip and I bought a P8 lite in Japan (Soft bank carrier). The model is a ALE-L02-C111B210 (single sim) and from my search on the forum, I understand that it is the same as L21 except LTE frequencies may not work. I have different ideas but I'd like to check before doing anything stupid (which I am )
The phone has a lot of japanese crappy apps that I cannot uninstall and no updates are provided by this carrier. That why I want to root it and debrand it.
1- When I put my european simcard, it ask me for a network unlock code. I cannot get it from the carrier because my account was closed and they don't want to hear anything. I then found website who can give me a "generic" unlock code for this device against 10€. Before paying for a code, I'd like to know if rooting the phone and puting a custom/unbrand rom, it will also unlock the network or not. I compare to my old iphone who can be unlocked once rooted
2- I read a LOT of threds about L21 and several people with the L02 used the video for RootJunky who give all required files included a firmware file but an old one I think (V100R001C636B120).
Can replace it with one I got from huawei website but following the same procedure ? for instance : HUAWEI P8 Lite Firmware(ALE-L21, Andriod 6.0, EMUI 4.0, C432B565, Austria, Single SIM, Channel-Others)
3- dumb question. what's the stock rom for ? because it is only 34Mb on the RootJunky repository
Thanks a lot for any help/answer

1) Which website? Are you sure it is safe? Don't give credit card information on such sites without confirmation. Iphone rooted?Iphone can be unlock and jail break but remember root is different from jailbreaking.
2) You may flash other country firmware. It's no big deal. But you may need to unlock bootloader.
3) stock rom is the default rom that phone comes with. Its size is usually above 1GB. 34MB can't be stock rom.
