Hey everyone, after messing around I managed to break the IMEI numbers of my phone, they're gone and it only displays "unknown" in the settings.
I do know my old numbers so is there any way I can get fix them or has anyone actually managed to set them?
Preferably without having to format, I have root (SuperSU) and Xposed framework installed.
Thanks in advance!
I don't know about how to fix it but the original IMEI number is written on sim slot

Hi there!
I think I may have messed up, I tried flashing Paranoid Android and I booted my phone up to find I had no network. I had a look at the settings and it shows imei, imei sv and phone number as unknown. Is there any way to fix this or have I effectively bricked my phone?
Thanks for any advice you can offer me
Do you have a backup?

Hi Guys,
This is my first post here and also I am fairly new to android, so I apologize in advance if I violate a forum rule or ask an obvious silly question. Anyway,I Recently, I received a Samsung A5 2016 Dual Sim from my friend which did not boot up. Apparently he had installed an app which caused this situation. Then he had tried to install multiple firmwares with Odin on it without success. Anyway, I received the phone and first strange thing that I found was that product name in download mode was SM-A5108 which was different from A510FD which was on the phones box. This probably was the main reason behind not being able to flash any A510FD firmware on phone. So I flashed a A5108 firmware on it booted up to android. But there was 4 issues there:
1- No baseband version was available.
2- No IMEI information for either of sim card slots and of course not detecting any of sim cards.
3- Very sensible lag and delay on loading apps and working with menus.
4- Also A5108 is apparently available for china region so menu was Chinese and other region specific apps was on it.
I found out the original firmware on it was A510FD so searched a little bit and found out it is possible to restore a backup from A510FD. I downloaded a backup file from internet and restored it using TWRP (Data, System, Boot). After restore, phone booted up with A510FD but once again with null IMEI and also lagging. Right now baseband version is available and device model on about section is A510FD. I know all radio related information is on EFS but I have no EFS backup right now and restoring EFS is not an option. Is there any way to fix IMEI issue now?
I can provide exact build number and any other information about phone and firmwares that I used in case it is required for better troubleshooting.
check you phone model by imei or serial from the box or from back of the phone, if someone messed up that phone is hard to be sure what model is

I forgot to mention there is no IMEI on phone's box or phone itself. But phone's model (A510FD)is printed on box. Also battery is non-removable so not able to check inside of phone for IMEI.
If there is no other option you could remove the back glass panel to see the IMEI number there is a sticker underneath it i replaced the screen of mine and i saw this sticker. You need to be carefull taking off the panel tho cuz you coul rip off the sticker if you're not careful.
Thank you for responding. Okay, Let's suppose I found out IMEI by opening phone's back panel. What is the next step? How could I use these information to recover IMEI to phone? Is there any chance that IMEI information is at EFS partition but due to wrong firmware upgrade it is not working?

Hi. I think you'll get more help if you ask your question in A-Series 2017 forum. There you'll also find TWRP and root for A520.
The files you refer to is probably the nv_data.bin in /efs. I've read it should be possible to restore imei somehow by using hex-editor but I have no experience in that. I also know some older models had a "hidden" menu where you could perform a NV restore but I don't know if it's possible on newer devices.
Anyway, I wish you best of luck to restore your IMEI and hope you'll find someone who can help you more.
Hey all. Been trying to figure out, for about a month now, why I haven't been able to make calls, text, or use data since flashing a ROM. Just found out today why.... My IMEI number ha changed to the default one Sprint used for CDMA, and the actual IMEI number I activated my Sim with has been moved to the MEID spot. The network I'm on needs the GSM/UMTS IMEI number in order for me to be able to use my phone...
The phone is a G900P with Marshmallow. Is there a way to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Have you tried to flash back an original rom with odin ? If yes try samsung tool pro cracked to work without box , it can restore imei .
Hello everybody. My dad's laser 3 (zc551kl) suddenly lost both its imeis the other day, which makes the phone unable to join the cellular networks at all.
I have two troubles:
A) Can't root. So far I've updated to the latest version, which is WW-80.20.52.90 (Android 8.0.0) to see if the problem was resolved because I see a very old update caused this same trouble. But when I run the unlock tool on the phone, it says "An unknown error occurs, which might be a network connection issue. Please wait and try again later". The phone is connected to the wifi correctly, so my trobules begin with not being able to unlock and root.
B) Once I manage to root, and access my nvram, I have two troubles. 1) I can't find imei maker anywhere which seems to be one of two files (zip) that I think I need in order to restore my imei, is there an alternative tool/file I can user now? And most important 2) My dad can't find the phone's box and the sticker on the back, if it ever contained the imei, is long rubbed/erased by now. So I do not have the phone's original imei numbers anywhere. Is there ANY way to obtain the original numbers somewhere so that I can restore them?
Thanks for any help/feedback possible.
My situation changed a little, phone is found and I have the IMEIs, so now what I need to find out is:
A) Is there any way to fix asus' unlocker or an alternative to unlock and root?
B) Is there any tool like imei maker to fix this, that doesn't require a box or subscription? I don't mind doing difficult stuff, even calculating and hex editing files directly, etc.
