Op asked about camera improvements and you post a link to bugs thread? Not sure I see the relation. To the Op I haven't noticed any improvements over 4.4.2 but they're apparently are some from what I remember of the Sony change log.
People mentioned that the startup lag was fixed and that auto mode is less noisy.

The problem is the 4k Slowmotion mod, it brings startup lag back to 4.4.4
If you removes the mod lags desapears, at least for me

Re installing full ftf ROM or restoring a nandroid
Regards
The 4k port currently is using the apk and lib files from 4.4.2. If you flash it over 4.4.4 rom though the camera will work but you will bring back all the old problem. We will need to wait the 4k port project update to 4.4.4 ver.
The stock 4.4.4 camera should be more stable(no more FC or camera not available), consume lesser power to partly solve the over-hearing problem and the photo quality is a bit improved as reported(lesser noise).
In my case (stock 4.4.4+newroot legavy method) from time to time my camera freezes after take a shot or after shot go to album and go back to camera and black screen for 2-3s but as i mentioned from time to time not always. I had 3 times after shot sign that my camera is unavaible and i must restart app and there is no photo must do photo again

I am afraid that is an hardware bug common to all z1c. Pretty rare but you must restart the phone, otherwise you'll have this black screen always with no possibility to record the picture.

Tried to do a autofocus test, but fail on both tests.
Someone else had such an issue?
Yes mine does the same. Not sure if it is a software or hardware problem
Camera is working better on 2.1.2 but that ota introduces new bugs.

I have absolutely no problems with the camera.
Are you still facing the same issues with the latest update? @sirarisma , what new bugs are you talking about?
Sorry, not talking about new bugs with the camera, but system(dual sim for example). Camera is running fine.

Unfortunately, I am only using 1 sim... so I don't know if there is such a bug. But, I don't have any other bugs, it runs butter smooth
Did you try to search for a fix on here or the oneplus forums?
Confirmed bug(dual sim) on OnePlus forums. Actually im using 1 sim.
AK Kernel seems great, maybe its time to use it with HydrogenOS(its more stable)

what app did you use to test the AF?
Hello guys. I had the same problem. Noise from the autofocus.
It is a hardware problem. The camera should be replaced.
I contacted oneplus with a ticket. They asked me to take a video showing the issue.
After that, they send ups to take my phone. A month later, I have the phone repaired.
My Mi A2 just arrived toady and I was surprised, when I saw in video settings, that there is a native 1080p60 recording option! I wasn't expecting that, great news. I don't know if this is since first software release or maybe it was added in the update. Right know my system version is 9.6.10.0

Yes it is ! EIS works on 60fps also.
Wow thanks for posting this. I have the phone for three days now but i just realized that
Yeah... nice update
Videos in 60fps are really stable, EIS does a great job. Overall quality is not so good as Galaxy S8 for example, I compared it, but it's not a surprise. It's not a flagship.
It has option to record video in 120fps also but with camera2 api enabled
If you turn on the time lapse or slow motion option, the setting will return to 1080p 30fps in normal mode
How to enable call record option on MI A2
On the latest July patch of PIE 60fps and EIS has no effect
Hey guys, I'm having some troubles after updating from stock 8.1 to custom 8 or 9 roms.
Video recording is awesome on Gcam, but on apps like Instagram and snapchat, the sound of recording seems to be supressed and extremely low.
I actually did some searching for fixing, but i didn't found anything that worked.
Does anyone is having this problem too?
There is a fix for that?

I already have checked about cleaning, but it's already clean.
If i boot on stock, the microphone works very well.
As i mentioned, looks like that there is something on software that is supressing the audio, cause on Gcam, it works nicely, but on apps, it's supressed.
Another reason to stick on stock then.

Same here. I didn't find any solutions, so all I do is record 15 second video on my gcam and post that on instagram. ?
Its a known issue on custom roms for our device (and others actually).
The workaround could be like carastroren1991 said, record using gcam and upload to IG.

Yeah, i'm doing it, but sometimes you don't have time to... I belive that is a problem on audio software that makes the noise reduction...

Hi everyone, I have a problem and I would like to share it with you because I think it is a very serious software or design flaw and it may be that this could happen to some of you.
This is the second device with the problem, I returned the first one to Amazon and I have unsealed this right now
I have realized that recording video at any resolution, when I zoom at maximum, I focus on an object and when I view the video the object is displaced, I don't know if you understand me.
It is as if the camera that shows me the image on the screen is not the same as the one that records the video, it is the displaced objects and I am testing it with the second oneplus that Amazon has sent me and the same thing happens to both, so I think this can happen to more devices
When it is most noticeable is with the maximum zoom but if you look it always happens but obviously it is clearer with zoom
This happens to me in any resolution at 60fps
In this Youtube link I show the problem, the video is in 4k resolution 60fps but it happens in any resolution 60fps
In the video you can see perfectly how the white letters are up during the recording and when I play the video they are seen in the center and that is not normal. The other day I recorded a helicopter flying and when I played the video the helicopter was not seen
The phone is just unsealed and is the second in 1 month and a half.
It is European version
I would really appreciate if anyone can test what I have commented to see if I am not the only one.
Thanks in advance and sorry for my English

@vrg3030
When you zoom you're changing lenses. There is a handoff which occurs..leave the camera on one of the stock zoom states there are 3 of them.
They should all work afaik, perhaps not the most zoomed out one, but the other two should be fine..

Thank you for your answer but I do not understand that in a device of € 1000 I cannot use the maximum zoom in any resolution at 60fps and the worst thing is that in other forums they tell me that this problem does not happen to them ....
You also have that problem?

I haven't noticed it personally as I don't tend to zoom so much. It's best to try to keep our optical rather than the digital zoom.

I personally think that if a device has certain characteristics, they should work correctly, it's like buying a car with 6 gears and only being able to use 5 because the sixth doesn't work well.
I like the device a lot but I can't live having paid more than € 1000 knowing that it has this fault because for me it is a fault
I have tried other devices with 4 cameras and that does not happen to them, I have tried to record a car from 50 meters away with the zoom to maximum and I have not been able, you can see the video in the Youtube link that I have put

I'll take a look pal. Is only compare a OnePlus 8 pro with a OnePlus 8 pro though mate.
Let's see if we can set up a test whereby we can isolate it indeed it is an issue or not.
Has to be specific though and replicatable.

I have already spoken with Amazon and they have told me that they are going to check it because it may be that there is a defective batch. I will inform about how this strange story is developing.
It is really something very strange and doing more tests I have verified that it is not only with the maximum zoom, if I press the button zoom X3 or any zoom level it also happens.
I lean out of my window and record a car at less than 50 meters and while I make the recording I can see it on the screen but when I see the video the car does not appear, it is as if the lens that shows me the image on the screen while I am recording it is not the same lens that records the video.
very strange Thank you for answering

An yea that's weird.
Are you turning on HDR by any chance when recording, I've noticed that stabilization is lost when that's on.

It does not matter if I use HDR or not, I record an object at the top of the screen with the maximum zoom with the object in front of me and when I see the video the object is in the center of the screen and when it is something that is further away and moving is not even seen on the video after recording it

Ah ye that's not right, I think the alignment of the lens, it has to be..
I can confirm I do not have this said issue. Definitely not and Amazon or OnePlus must take responsibility for that, it's a factory defect, perhaps their standard testing process doesn't cover zooming in detail.
So you say that if you capture something onscreen whilst zooming in and is present in the preview, it will not be present in the playback?
If so then I would query the lens, this isn't something a software fix could change. In no way.

Exactly, what appears while you are recording then does not appear in the video. It is very curious and seems to be related to what you have said about the alignment of the lenses.
It is the second oneplus 8 pro that Amazon sends me and in both there is the same problem that is why they have told me that they will notify it in case there is an error in a series of devices
Another curious fact is that with the new Gcam which uses 3 lenses of the oneplus 8 pro this problem does not occur and the truth is that it gives good results

You are right, Gcam has less zoom than the stock camera but as I said before, the problem occurs at any zoom level although it is obviously more visible as the zoom increases.
That is what makes me think that it may be a software problem because I have done a test by putting the Gcam and the stock camera at the same zoom level more or less and with the Gcam I get the image correctly and with the stock the problem occurs
Another thing that makes me think that it is a software problem is that it only occurs in any resolution using 60fps, if I use 30fps it does not happen so it cannot be a design problem or that the lenses are incorrectly positioned

hi, there! new to the forum as i got my op8pro couple of weeks ago. i can confirm the issue, it is strange that only appears at 60fps, and only when zoom is used. in my case at least looks like the video is being cropped...like u said, at rhe time of the recording i can see the "whole picture' on the screen, but then when u play the video it looks to me as it was being cropped from the original video and only showed a portion of the "whole picture". i think it's probably smth to do with how the software is processing the video when zoom is used at 60fps.. don't thing is hardware or has something to do with the positioning of the lenses..
basicly smth like that

Or my god I thought that I was the only one to whom this happens, if you look at YouTube videos you can see perfectly what I am talking about.
Anyway, it happens to me in any resolution at 60fps and using any zoom but obviously it is appreciated more the more zoom I apply. One day I recorded a helicopter with the zoom to the maximum and when I wanted to see the video it did not appear on the screen during the entire recording ,the helicopter was advancing which means that if what I am recording is in motion the problem is accentuated.
And from what I have been able to see this only happens to some devices because with several people with whom I have spoken in different forums they comment that it does not happen to them or at least they say that
