Oppo F1S Root - Oppo F1s Questions & Answers

How do I root my Oppo F1S Android 6.0 with Ram 3GB,I have tried almost all 1 click root methods but seems like 1 click root does not work anymore so I needed help

I just rooted the A1601/3Gb of RAM using the method posted here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oppo-f1s/how-to/tutorial-root-oppo-f1s-flashtool-6-0-t3651220
Seeing your phone already is running MM, you can obviously skip that step. Just factory reset the phone and then go straight ahead to flashing CWM recovery.
Also - read and re-read the instructions on how to install the drivers very carefully; this was the only step of the root process that I struggled with.
Cheers,
Belle.

Root / Update problem

Hi everyone,
I have a Note 4 Exynos version and recently i decided to make the root procedure. My steps was first update to 5.1.1 then, root by flashing the su zip file, flashing TWRP recovery and then i did a full backup to make sure i can keep my files intact just in case. I tried installing CM 12.1 but i had the " Execute updating binary failed etc..." and after a lot of tries i decided to restore my backup. The problem is that after restoring my phone keeps rebooting in randomly.. Can i unroot without flashing stock firmware, so i can keep my backup as it is?
Any thoughts appreciated.
5.1.1 can't be root just yet.
Flash stock rom & setup your phone to fix it.
You can flash another rom after that
So that is the reason for the random rebooting? To be honest i followed the procedure from a known website that was talking about rooting this particular phone with version 5.1.1 ...
Thanks for the response
I'm expecting my 910c to arrive soon and I'm currently reading for root procedures.
So, if my phone arrives with 5.1.1, I won't be able to root? and if I root can I later flash 5.1.1 without problems?
Also, please direct me to a threat that is safe to follow in order to root.
Of course you can root 5.1.1
Just read the development section and follow the instructions there
sent from somewhere
Antreassy i have followed the procedure from a website i do not wish to quote since it might be against the forum rules. But the result was not the best since my phone keep rebooting. So the only thing that saved it is by flashing the stock 5.1.1 firmware using odin and everything came back to normal.
From my own research i believe that at the moment the most valuable custom firmware is CM 12.1 and that is the reason i tried to flash it at first but without any success.

Reno Z - How to root?

Hello everyone.
I have a Reno Z (CPH1979) , Chipset MT6779, and I have been trying to root it for weeks. All the One click root like Kingroot, Kingoroot, Framaroot, iRoot, Vroot and many other have failed.
I have also tried WWR, MTK_Tool, Miracle Box, Pirahna Box, Wondershare Root, flashify, Room manager, Official TWRP blah blah blah...
I have also tried Magisk manager. I also have SP Flashtool.
Now I would like to know:
1) How to backup the current rom without root?
2) How do extract scatter file, and Boot.img, recovery.img from the ofp ROM? I tried all methods and it all showed "unknow rom structure....
3) How to flash TWRP without root?
4) How to root? (preferably with magisk).
THANK YOU!!!!!
This I would also like to know... It's been quiet for this device. The confinement is killing me...
+1 i just got this phone and like to root and hopefully some dev will too and make some custom for it :!)
how can root oppo reno z?
The bootloader on the OPPO Reno Z is unfortunately fully locked the only way to root would be through exploiting the recovery mode's update script or through some other form of exploit, but no unfortunately there is no way to root the Reno Z as of now.
Any update on this?
Old thread, but I've found a guide and it directly links to a build of TWRP that says it's for the Reno Z. Should I bite the bullet and see if it works?
P.S. Magisk and DM-verity don't need to be compiled for specific devices, do they? Also will orange-state be much of a problem?

Did you manage to root the device? If not I was wonder if you received the Android 10 update that was supposed to be released last month.
I've managed to root mine, making use of mtkclient. The README explains how to unlock your bootloader, and install Magisk.
mtkclient completely bypasses fastboot allowing you to read/write the flash as you wish.
You can fetch the latest OTA update from here, and then unpack it.
I should stress the importance of dumping the flash before deciding to overwrite anything.
Standard disclaimer - I take no responsibility for you bricking your device.

Root Note 7 on MIUI 11 with android 10

Sorry if this is a noob question but I want to root my device but all the tutorials I found on rooting here are based on when the phone was on android 9. My phone recently updated to android 10 and I'm wondering if using the process and resources found in https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-7/how-to/one-redmi-note-7-unlock-bootloader-t3890751 would be safe to use. I've rooted a couple phones before but the android versions were all the same and I just followed the instructions to a T but I'm since I'm not sure how the underlying processes work I'm scared to do it and I end up messing up my phone. Thanks for your help in advance!!
Unlock your bootloader and your data partition will be erased, flash a twrp recovery like orangefox and flash the last magisk zip. Finish
Sent from my Mi Note 10 using XDA Labs
Same as Pie

It's still the same procedure as Android 9 AFAIK. Nothing has changed, because I also rooted my RN7, for the first time, after updating to Android 10. I used OrangeFox throughout, though, not TWRP: I extracted the Orangefox recovery image from the flashable zip archive, flashed it through fastboot, then flashed the OrangeFox zip file through the recovery, then the bundled Magisk add-on.
I'd suggest to remove every security lock on your phone before doing that, however, to prevent being locked out and having to format data. Happy flashing!

Help with Root

Hi guys.
I saw a highly recommended post on rooting an Asus Zenfone Max 2 Pro(https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...t-asus-zenfone-max-pro-m2-unofficial.3885457/
Unfortunately , I saw it after I had already unlocked the bootloader using the UnlockDevice.apk tool from Asus' official website. Hence , the steps for rooting are now confusing since in that guide I have to use unlocker to install Magisk and root.
I want to know how to now root my phone now that I've already unlocked the bootloader , I just need help with the rooting part. Please help me out , I really need to recover some data that I lost when I factory reset , and the recovery tool I downloaded is saying root access is needed to deep scan and find those files.
I'm running a stock Android 9.0
