Alexa blue circle - Thinkpad Tablet General

Hi
I've just purchased the lenovo tab 4 8 plus, did all the updates, now an Alexa blue circle has appeared in the bottom right of the navigation bar, I've deleted the Alexa app, but the circle still remains, I'd appreciate any help on removing it... Thanks.

I have frozen that Alexa app and replaced the stock launcher. Thats it.

This may not be much help but, I've got the tab 10 plus and all i had to do was uninstall the 'Lenovoalexa' app from the settings menu. I'd already made sure the Google app was installed and now no alexa and full google assistant functionality. I did install and then get rid of the full Alexa app from google play althoygh i cant see how it made any difference.

[Q] Transparent Nav Bar - KitKat 4.4

Hi there, I wasn't able to find an answer to this and didn't want to hijack the "GEL coming to all 4.1+ devices?" thread under General..
When I first upgraded my Nexus 7 (2012, WiFi) tablet to KitKat and installed the GEL/latest Google Search - I had the transparent navigation bar AND status bar. However today I noticed the navigation bar at the bottom is no longer transparent, while the status bar at the top still is.
The only thing I can think of that I've changed is I've rooted my tablet with the latest SuperSU. Anyone have some ideas? Once I get home tonight I'll try unrooting it and see if that fixes it, but that seems rather odd it would break that.
Curious if anyone else has noticed this or knows of a fix? Thank you.
Install the GEL launcher again (just the launcher) and you will get it, it'll only be transparent on the homescreen though.
And unless you use Google Now a lot and perform A LOT of google searches, GEL is completely useless if you ask me.

I will try that out when I get home tonight - makes sense.
Agreed on the Launcher on all accounts - but I actually do use Now quite a bit, and love the voice capabilities. And the transparency is oh so purty :victory: Definitely not for everyone, I can see why Google hasn't pushed it out yet. My only beef is the missing Play store button at the top right corner of the app list
There is the launcher extracted from Nexus 5

Nexus 7 2012 Google experience launcher - landscape search bar location

Hi,
Is anyone using the new Google experience launcher (on KitKat 4.4), if so when you rotate the device so the home screen is in landscape mode do you have the top row of app icons hidden under the Google search bar.
I have cleared data and cache for the launcher and Google search app (the two apps needed for the new launcher) but still have the problem.
The search app is the official update from the play store and the launcher app I sideloaded.

I've been getting this issue as well. I believe in landscape mode, the search bar is not supposed to be visible (or at least not supposed to be a bar) and to fit in with the animation, it is supposed to glide off the top of the screen.
But I wouldn't know how to fix this.
new BUG!!

[Q] OmniROM No App Remove or Uninstall Option

Recently installed OmniROM 4.4.4 which works great on Motorola Xoom however there is no REMOVE option for icons on the homescreen or UNINSTALL option for completing removing apps that I've downloaded. Whenever you longpress on an app to uninstall it, it makes a shortcut to the homescreen I've checked all the settings and cant find a solution, has anyone else experienced this issue?

I haven't... Remove should be at the top of the screen.
Xoom is not an officially supported device though.

Cannot hide Google Search bar

Has anyone noticed recently that the Google Search bar is back if you've tried hiding it? Evidently one of the Google updates broke the fix that Xgels made to hide it. I've tried everything and cannot get it off my screens. Help! Any ideas? I've considered using another custom launcher but prefer not to. There used to be a 'Google Search' shown under Apps so that it could be turned off ,but that's gone, too. Apparently Google wants their annoying search bar at the very top of every frigging page. I want it gone, anyone with ideas?

Replace Google App (to left of home screen) with SmartNews?

Question is in the subject.
I'm running a custom ROM (Syberia). I'm glad I can turn off the Google App, which by default shows up to the left of the home screen, activated by a swipe.
I'd like to replace in this space the third-party SmartNews, which I prefer to the info I can get from Google App..
Does anybody know how to make this happen?
I'm also running Magisk, so if there's a Magisk module that does this, I'd like to know.
Thanks.

I think there was a way to do this with root but as I'm on stock I just use Nova Launcher so I could add a widget to left screen & set home screen to right or center screen
