No "App network access" in Samsung's Nougat? - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi all:
When trying to follow these instructions (for blocking apps from using cellular data on Nougat), it turns out there's no "App network access" setting on my stock Nougat (A3 2017). Shouldn't it be there? I believe it's in AOSP. Did Samsung developers modify their Nougat to remove that setting?
Does anybody know about this?
Hints or feedback appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thank you. But your 2-words answer isn't of much help.
Do you own an A320?
What's your Nougat build version?
Where is the "App network access" setting to be found in your system?

Get Google Assistant working on your Device.

If you guys want to try the latest feature of Android 7.1 I.e. The google assistant on your One plus Device so well now you Can.
Prerequisites:- Your phone running android 7.0
Latest google app 6.6.x.x (worked for me.)
Build.prop editor.(better use es FM)
Procedure: 1.Open Es FM
2.Grant all the root permissions and note that the system is set on r/w mode.
3.Go to root.
4.Open System----->Build.prop
5.Edit ro.product.model=Pixel XL and add the line below the model one.
ro.opa.eligible_device=true
(SEE ATTACHMENTS IF CONFUSING)
You r good to go now...Just go and install the latest google app from apk mirror and then clear the data of google app once...Reboot your device.
And voila you now have google assistant on your device.
Thanks to senior member @xda brianelv for this trick.
Thanks man! It's working great
Everything of Google Assistant works fine but...
I can't use the "OK GOOGLE", it doesnt store the voice and asks me every time to say " OK GGOGLE" thrice. Any way to fix it? I am on AICP Nougat ROM . Do anyone have the same problem? If no , tell me. Thanks!

I've tried the settings as per instructions, but can't seem to get Google Assistant to appear. Wondering if i missed out any steps. Is there any particular sequence. Like Google App must be 6.6 upon editing Build.prop?

Actually, I unlocked and installed TWRP when I was on 7.0 (followed instructions on ZTE Axon 7 threads and instructions). After 7.1.1 update, phone remained unlocked and TWRP was there. But root was removed so using TWRP, I installed SuperSU 2.79 and got root back.

Did you try to add a new wifi network to your list, to see if the new one will be hashed?
Because on marshmallow only the new passwords that you put in after editing the build.prop were not hashed and the old ones were still hashed.

How can I remove carrier installed apps on S8 - Rogers Canada

Hello
I want to uninstall and remove and spotify app which came pre-installed with the phone. I am using S8 on Rogers network in Canada. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Have you tried disabling the apps you don't need? If you haven't, then long press on the shortcut and pick "app info". There you will find disable button(if not grayed out). That is the easiest way off turning off the app which won't show in your apps anymore, but it won't uninstall it.

However, I have my own apk and wouldn't install saying the system already have file with same name. I can disable but it will not solve my problem. Any work around or ways to remove the preinstalled spotify files?

I have not tried it personally, but check this tread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/debloater-remove-carrier-bloat-t2998294 There could also be other methods/apps that would help.
Try clearing app data than uninstall updates, this can be found in settings/apps.

Go to apps then click Spotify then click storage then clear data and cache.
If you want to remove the pre installed version you need to be rooted to remove system apps.
The all you have will be the same as the one pre installed. You can always download an updated version.

Not if its a hacked version of Spotify.
I see no reason why someone would disable the included Spotify app to load "their own version"
The included app can be updated right from the google play store, so there is no reason someone should be uninstalling it to install a .apk version.
I am on a Rogers S8, so I know this is true.

Check out this XDA article. It details instructions to remove apps/packages without root, using ADB. Be super careful doing this or using a package disabler app Like BK Package Disabler or Adhell (which is free)...if you disable the wrong system package you may end up disabling important functions/features.
https://www.xda-developers.com/uninstall-carrier-oem-bloatware-without-root-access/
What you can do is only disable it. That's what I'm doing with texture also and zone. Don't flash XAC if you are still a Rogers user you will loose wificall and Volte.
Only time you can remove it completely is to root. (Not available)
Or flash the XAC but modify the feature file in XAC to add the lines to enable wifi call and Volte. And again not possible cause there is no root yet.
So it takes you back to the 1rst and only option and don't try any even when they claim it uninstall without root(it does not work with Samsung phones )
Just disable it "I think you know how hold the app icon and you see a popup to disable"
If you rebooted the phone , app will not show to show it back enable it again .
When any app is disabled you can't download the app it will tell you it's available unless if it's a higher version.
So if for some reason you want to have a clone " exemple disable original Spotify to download a cracked ) use apk unpacker and change the signature name on the cracked apk.
