Let's begin this with some usual advices :
I'm not responsible if you break your smartphone, if it stops working (properly or not at all) or if it blows up. You're attempting these modifications at your own risks.
If you never heard about flashing roms, Gapps and whatsoever, pass your way. This guide is made for people that have at least a bit of knowledge in Android developpement and roms.
This guide is made ONLY for OnePlusX devices. Everything I'm about to introduce to you worked on mine. :good:
You may brick your phone (If so, check the "Usefull Stuff section).
You're waranty may (is) void after these modifications.
Let's do this!
********** OPX Modifications **********
So here are 4 different ways on how to modify your OPX system, make it look unique.
1. Alternative Roms
So here we are, for our first step: OS modification
First thing you want to do is to replace the recovery menu of your OPX.
To do so, I invite you to check on the excellent work that Funk Wizard did. You can stop after step 3.
Once you did this, you want to download you're costum rom (personnaly Lineage) and download Gapps . You should always prefer Official costum roms to Unofficial costum roms.
Make sure you stored these files on an external micro sd.
View attachment 4435729
Here you go, you're about to flash your costum rom :
Reboot into recovery mode
You can make a backup of your phone (optional) that should allow you to get all your datas back if you change your mind or if the flashing operation does not work.

Then go to the Wipe section and wipe your phone (All the unsaved datas will be lost)

Go back to the main menue and select the install section.

Select the storage where your zip files are located and select your costum rom zip file. Flash it.

Once that's done, hit the back button, select your Gapps zip file and flash again.

You can now reboot into system and configure your phone. You're done with this !
2. Boot Animation
So here we are, for our second step : Boot Animation Modification
If you don't see what a Boot Animation is, this is the kind of video that is played when you turn on your mobile phone (after the oneplus/android logo).
Boot Animation Example
This step is somehow way easier than the first one. Thing is, you gotta be rooted first. Here is a quick step by step guide on how to root your device (Magisk root)
Root process :

Beeing a rooted user will allow you to have access to all your smartphone files and system. The process is pretty easy. You can follow this XDA Thread. All credits to them. Otherwise, here is a quick recap :
Make sure you don't have any other root installed. If so, uninstall it.
Download the latest Magisk zip file
Reboot to a custom recovery and flash the flashable zip

Reboot to system, and check whether Magisk Manager is installed and the version matches the latest one in the OP
If for some reason Magisk Manager isn't installed/upgraded automatically, please install/upgrade it manually!
Via Magisk Manager (Only support v14.0+)
Click to collapse
You're now a superuser!
Boot Animation modification Process :
Once that's done, you have two different ways to modify your Boot Animation :
Install an app that will make it for you, there are plenty of them, just take a look on the google playstore.

You don't find the Boot Animation you're dreaming about in apps. Then you gotta find the boot animation you want and get a file named bootanimation.zip once that's done, you want to open you're file browser (ES explorer works pretty fine once you've disabled all the notifications/pop-ups) enable root mode and go to /system/media. You'll find a file named bootanimation.zip. You can backitup, renaming it bootanimation.zip.bak for example. Then copy the bootanimation.zip file you've downloaded and paste it in this folder. Once that's done, reboot and enjoy !

You're done with this step !
3. Boot Logo
And now here we are for our third step : Boot Logo modification ️
The Boot logo stands for the "OnePlus Logo and powered by android" picture that appears when you turn on your mobile phone.
Boot Logo Picture
The hardest part of your work is to find the boot logo you want. Tanks to this guy at XDA, here are a few boot logo that you may enjoy. All credits are to this guy. Thx mate (If you don't find the boot logo you want, you can probably find some more on the internet. You're looking for a zip file.)
Once you've downloaded your new boot logo zip file, you need one more time to reboot into recovery mode. Hit the install section.

Select your boot logo zip file,

Flash it,

Reboot, you're done!

I think I've heard about a splash injector tool that allows you to use whatever image you want as your boot logo, but I didn't try it. Surch and perform at you're own risks.
Click to collapse
4. Battery Charging Animation
Finaly, here we are, the last but not the least of our four steps : Battery Animation
This is probably the trickiest part of this guide, but thanks to @Aaahh work (credits to this awsome guy), and to me, this is way easier.
You can either follow his guide, or download the zip file I made for you. (Worked on a OnePlusX with LineageOs 14.1, TWRP 3.2.xx and Magisk root installed)
View attachment Battery-Images-Changer.zip
Once you've got the zip file stored in your device, you just have to flash it. To do so, reboot into recovery mode. Hit install, select your file and finally flash it.
View attachment 4435742
You're done ! Enjoy !
**********
********** Usefull stuff **********
You bricked your phone?
Here is a XDA link, one more time thanks to the guy that made this post.
You've got errors while flashing stuff?
You may have an error in twrp while flashing, called : "error 7".
If so, you should check on my post on XDA forum.
**********
Hope you enjoyed this guide, don't hesitate to ask for anything.
Have a nice flashing day !
Lost boy
You can modify your bootanimation, boot logo and battery images with this flashable zip
This guide is a non-exclusive guide, that I will keep up to date as I find other interesting stuff.
Make sure you give me a thumb up if you liked the post =)

[REF] HowTo Install a Custom ROM on Liquid

New(bie) here ?
You just have received your liquid, and would like to install a custom rom, but don't know where to begin ? This is for you.
(Note : Mostly inspired from the LCR's wiki page : http://code.google.com/p/acer-liqui...cker/wiki/HowToRootAndFlashLiquidCommunityROM)
Tools Needed :
- Acer Liquid drivers : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E5PTHL3O
- Acer Flash Tool : http://www.megaupload.com/?d=EF2QNANO
- SuperBoot : http://acer-liquid-community-rom-bugtracker.googlecode.com/files/Superboot.zip
Extract all in separates folders.
1. Install an official BIN
The first thing to do, is to get the latest official 2.1 bin for Liquid. Well, it's not really official as they are leaked bin for the moment, and not yet available on the Acer's website.
Acer_LiquidE_1.100.05_EMEA_GEN1 --> European Version.
Alternatives mirrors : LCR's wiki page
Acer_LiquidE_1.100.15_AAP_FET --> Only contain English + Asiat langs.
Once your bin downloaded :
1) Unpack the drivers.
If you have a 32-Bit version of Windows, go to the folder x86, if you have a 64-Bit version, go to the x64 folder.
Then run the setup.exe and follow the instructions.
2) Unpack the Acer A1 Tool.

}
Important : under windows Vista / 7 : choose Windows XP compatibility mode and "run as administrator"
Run the ACER Download Tool. Click "Browse" and select the downloaded ACER_LiquidE...bin. Attach your Acer Liquid and press Start. It should start flashing the stock Éclair image.
Don't interrupt this process!! In case of communication error during flash process. You can unplug and replug usb, don't power off the phone.
You now have a standard 2.1 rom. But, even if you just want to run the stock rom without a custom rom beside, you should install a recovery software, in case of problems.
A custom recovery is program software which will help you install customs roms, root your roms, backup and restore a rom, etc... This is the start point to custom Liquid rom.
2. Install a Custom Recovery Image
1.) To do this, go here : http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-malez-recovery/ and download malezRecovery_0.5.3.img (or newer version if there is one off course).
2.) Put this image in your extracted Superboot folder, delete the old recovery.img in it, and rename malezRecovery_0.5.3.img to recovery.img
3.) Enable USB Debug in your phone --> Settings --> Applications --> USB Debug.
4.) Run install-recovery-windows.bat to install the recovery.
You should see something like this : sending 'recovery' (4876 KB)... OKAY writing 'recovery'... OKAY
5. After the flash, your phone should reboot.
6. To enter the recovery, use reboot-recovery.bat
To know more information about it,go to the malezRecovery project page.
3. Install a Custom ROM
1. To install a custom rom, just download the zip file, put it on your sd, then reboot on recovery (You can download QuickBoot from the market to reboot in recovery easily, but your rom have to be rooted).
2. Chosse Wipe Data (This will do a factory reset, please backup before if you need it).
3. Navigate to "flash/test menu" / "apply any .zip from SD" and push the menu key, and then choose the ROM and press menu again. Press home to start flashing
4. Wait for the installation to finish.
5. Reboot
6. You're done
please help my.am. I followed all the steps to install-recovery-windows.dupa I did that, could not turn on the phone, nor can it bring en recovery mode
Thanks alot
it really helped......
Thx.. it's very usefully..

Dont understand this part, the reboot to recovery.bat or reboot-recovery-windows.bat (in Superboot folder) wont let me in the recovery mode to browse for the zip file in the SD card, actually those files wont execute
There is nothing like "Wipe Data" as you said
Ok that's fine now, I need to move the newest img file to superboot folder instead of using the exe tool provided here
http://code.google.com/p/acer-liqui...tail?name=installMalezRecovery_0.5.4_FULL.exe
OK, so from now on everytime I want to install a custom ROM, the first thing I need to do is flashing the OFFICIAL Acer Rom again and then following step 2 and 3?
No, from now you can just flash the .zip without reflashing the bin each time.
Some roms are based on a certain BIN version, so it's better to flash the bin they advise to get the rom working as it should.
If you already have the bin version advised, you don't need to flash the bin again, maybe a "Wipe data" before flashing the new zip is all needed

yes, but now I can not access the Recovery mode anymore, when I double click the reboot-recovery-windows.bat (superboot) or reboot to recovery.bat (Malez), the phone restarts with Acer logo and then a black screen, sometimes Acer logo without back-light, and I have to remove the battery to restart again
Go to the Market and download an app called Quickboot. It allows you to reboot into Recovery without a computer.
If that does not work:
-Make sure there is no file named "update.zip" on your SD Card
-Remove and replace battery
-Hold down Power+Volume Down+Camera. Phone should vibrate 3-4 times
-Hold down Power+Camera
-Phone will reboot into Recovery
I have the same sort of problem. Rooted with recovery and installed a new ROM but then in reboot i get the splash page but then just a black screen. Tried a couple of ROM's but all the same result?
Just really want to get my CUS2 Donut version up to eclair....
Please help!
[update]
Ok, so i finally understand what went wrong. The acer support section wasn't that clear for me. Now just grabbed the 2.1 CUS2 bin from the liquid e section and that solved the problem! Now running eclair with Malez Recovery and ready for some custom ROM's
[update 2]
So i also found out that i can forget the CUS2 bin story. That's only when using official acer updates. With the ACER Download Tool [Single] i've now managed to install the leaked alpha version of froyo!
htc desire user.......
Hi
I m htc desire user n my friend is buying liquid e ferrari edition but he want me to get sense rom on it he doesnt like d stock acer eclair rom,
So is it possible to install cooked SENSE roms on this phone ??

I flashed 4.zip, straight forward procedure, install zip in twrp and reboot. I like new design!
Awesome! Thank you.
Flashed 5.zip with TWRP 2.8.7.1 CAF on CyanogenMod 12.1 CAF. Everything perfect.
Thanks!

The instructions in the first post are wrong. DON'T unzip the contents to you SD card. Copy the zip to your SD card and flash the zip. If you did unpack the zip and flashed the .img file over your boot partition then you will need to get the original boot .img and refresh it. Get the Nexus 5 factory image here: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images?hl=en . Unzip it and then unzip the other file within until you get the "boot.img" file. Copy boot.img to your phone and flash it to fix your blackscreen on boot.
Tried file 3 & 5
Both worked and look great
Excellent work dev

To the OP: Thanks for the work!
Special thanks to dekefake for the 4.zip complete black background added to the main post !!
Guys any suggestions and changes are welcome !!
Is it possible to have version 5 with black background around the white discus, like my beautiful hand made picture ?

twrp has not made it to 3 ox you have to use a downgrade to get a fresh start using unbrick method, (keep flashable backup via flashify) get twrp installed with the new (old) boot loader, flash cm14+ext. and you are done.
if you had cm13 or the likes, please confirm if you CAN upgrade to 14 before ox people start trying to install without knowing if it even has android 6 (last update i saw on the branch was from june 7 so idk)
teamwin does not have twrp for the ox 3 on oneplus x yet (on their releases anyway) so you have to follow some other process to downgrade to a twrp'able os (and a backup) before trying yo install this
if i see any info from people who have been able to update (and if it has android 7) i'll try to make a video on the process (in white, Texan english)
Please remove this page.

Looks like a successful install to me. Could you provide twrp logs?
With whose permission did you post this build here ? Don't you think there was a reason that even after a complete build of CM14 it was still not posted to the forums ?
I am asking you, as politely as possible, to remove the links and this fake procedure, when N is ready, it will be shared, you might find phony builds or legit but non working ones on the interweebz, that doesn't mean it gives you the right to share it just because you think its cool, because its not.
Take it down.
EDIT: Sure, if you build yourself and want to share it then you're more than welcome.
And then they will cry if things are broken !! Take it down folk !

[STOCK][N][ARB01] H830 20N ZIPs + KDZ (2017-12-01 Security Patch)

First off, a HUGE thank you to @autoprime (for paving the way) and @waylo (for his assistance on getting this going after I found the KDZ)
I am currently storing these in my google drive account, so please be gentle till I have a better host location:
Below are the downloads for the LG-H83020N firmware
Folder with all the LG830 firmware I have so far:
LG830 (G5)
LG-H83020N-Flashable.COMPLETE-ARB01.zip
As always, COMPLETE is 100% stock
Flash COMPLETE zip -> wipe cache partition -> flash Magisk ZIP (or SuperSU if you insist) to root and keep TWRP
OPTIONAL: After flashing, remount /system RW -> delete recovery-from-boot.p to guarantee TWRP sticks
LG-H83020N-Flashable.Bootloader-ARB01
LG-H83020N-Flashable.Modem-ARB01.zip
LG-H83020N-Flashable.Boot.zip
H830N_00_1017.kdz (HUGE Thank you to @Azul Baseem for the upload)
For instructions, follow the same instructions as you would in any other KDZ/ZIP thread. For Example
Feel free to hit thanks.
Also feel free to hit up autoprime's All in One thread HERE
Thank you very much bedwa!
Kdz link updated!
Thank you @bedwa as always.
I fear my only true contribution here is MD5 confirmation of the files:
LG-H83020N-Flashable.COMPLETE-ARB01.zip 8a49733028bef23d775bf542eb62b726
LG-H83020N-Flashable.Boot.zip ddea9d814f66266de34a154f0c7f6b41
H830N_00_1017.kdz 732b717af8d77501342be445002c4fae
Edit: Also, since someone will definitely miss it in the title, this is confirmed to still be on Anti-Rollback 1. You're free to flash back and forth between 20A if you need to Dirtycow your phone again.
Keeping me honest, I swear I'll remember them next time.
Thanks for the upload. I was able to update just fine thanks to this.
BTW... It still has H83020m mentioned in the body of the OP instead of H83020n.

That would be trickier. All of these are the partition images. To make a slim zip like that I'll have to either unpack and build or unpack and attempt to repack. I might, but not likely at this time.
Thank you so much for making this. So happy to be rooted and on the latest build thanks to your hard work. =)

Quite welcome... It's more time consuming than hard work, but the appreciation and thanks is greatly appreciated as well.
@bedwa
I am running on rooted H83020a with TWRP and SuperSU installed. In order to upgrade to 20N by keeping all my current settings and data along with root and TWRP, what are the steps should I follow?
1. Take a complete backup using LG Backup
2. Boot into TWRP
3. Flash Complete Zip (H83020N) from TWRP
4. Flash SuperSU Zip
5. Reboot System
6. Restore the complete backup from LG Backup
Does this work okay? Or, do I need to do anything else, like Wipe Data/Partition etc.? Sorry for the noob question.
Hello,
If I flash boot and bootloader, will it lock my bootloader and brick the phone if I am on LineageOS?

Backup is always good, shouldn't have to restore it as it's updating from a previous version and doesn't wipe data when upgrading. But that's the correct process with or without #6.

Shouldn't, but it would always be a good idea to backup beforehand. I would however only flash the bootloader, as the boot is the kernel and will be different than what LineageOS uses though.
I just boot into TWRP and flashed the complete zip and then flashed the latest SuperSU Zip. I pressed Reboot System after that, but, I am now stuck in a boot loop. Phone shows LG logo and reboots again and again.
I tried the Power button + Vol Down method, but, it doesn't work too. It gets to Factory reset screen, and after Yes and Yes, it goes to back to boot loop again. I am able to get into Download Mode and Fastboot Mode. Can I do something from here?
Can someone help please? Anyway to get into TWRP or recovery?
Sounds like you will need to LGUP or Uppercut your phone back to stock 20A. Then dirtycow back TWRP. Then try flashing the new ZIP again. Skip Supersu this time and try Magisk instead.
Thanks. I flashed back to 20A using LGUP and KDZ file. Need to dirtycow back TWRP now. I'm still wondering what went wrong in my process.

Do I need to reboot to TWRP once after flashing instead of Reboot System directly after flash? Any idea?
No, rebooting into TWRP wouldn't do anything. There's a script you might need to get into and delete prior to rebooting. But that only ensures that TWRP stays.
"After flashing, remount /system RW -> delete recovery-from-boot.p to guarantee TWRP sticks"
That having been said, I've done this before and STILL not had TWRP stay. Some recommend wiping /cache as well.
OR, again, use Magisk instead and don't use SuperSU.
Even if TWRP didn't stick, you should have been booting into system fine. You wouldn't be rooted, TWRP would be gone, but system shouldn't have been messed up. So something got borked, I'd have to guess, because of SuperSU.

[HELP] TWRP, Root, & Custom ROM

Sorry for the post, my question didn't really get answered on the General Q&A Nood Friendly Thread:

I have Android 9 and August 1, 2020 security patch on it (YouTube was mentioning security patches? dunno why).
I would like TWRP and a future goal of changing to Lineage OS/Tissot.
Which rooting guide can I follow?
( I got confused with the available threads.)

After posting, I tried follow this guide thread
I was able to do step 1 which is to unlock but, I don't know if I should still be flashing a Stock Fastboot ROM?
Also there is no link for TWRP, or which version of TWRP I should get...
The last time I rooted something was a Galaxy Note 2 back in 2012-ish so my relevant knowledge is definitely expired.
Please give me a lead on where to find the correct TWRP file and further instructions.
you want step by step guide to flash custom rom?
- You have unlocked bootloader?
- what OS version you are on at the moment ?
Dont worry i will help you in best of my knowledge i have been through what you are going after some time i learned answer question and we will begin
Yes, my bootloader is already unlocked and fastboot was enabled.
OS is stock Android 9, Aug 2020 security patch:

No Fastboot ROM (if that is necessary) or TWRP is installed yet.
PS: I do not know where or which TWRP I should be getting for this phone

I was hoping to get instructions or help in English; I've watched his YouTube tutorial in Indian but I was afraid that I'd do something wrong because I didn't understand what he said.
You can follow the instructions provided for LOS:
https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/tissot/install
Simply exchange the LOS installing part with the ROM of your choice.

Thank you, I'm done with the custom rom and root
Sorry for late reply i couldn't login because of xda forum migration process
steps i used:
- install Twrp (download latest version details below)
- download custom rom and gapps (and transfer it into sdcard or internal storage or your phone)
- download Adb/fastboot tool and drivers (download it in windows pc install it details below)
- Install Twrp (download it from https://dl.twrp.me/tissot/) there are 2 files .zip and .img you would need fastboot and adb drivers https://androiddatahost.com/uq6us install adb minimal in location where of your choice copy twrpX.XXXX.img file beside adb/fastboot.exe , from start menu open command prompt right click run as administrator locate to adb/fastboot folder .
Power off your mi a1 when its powerd off hold down volume down and power button until you see fastboot mode on the phone connect it to pc wait for drivers to install let me know if you need in this regard. Inside command prompt run " fastboot devices " if you see device with bunch of numbers below than it means your phone is connected and drivers are working than enter this command " fastboot boot twrpXX.XXXX.img " it will take no more than 5 seconds your phone will turn on into twrp recovery there you can copy twrpxx.xxx.zip file to your internal storage or sd card flash it when its done restart -> Recovery.
Warning: After flashing twrp zip dont restart to system if you do your phone will show you message that phone has been destroyed so dont restart .
- Installing custom roms: download custom rom of your choice transfer it into internal or sd card from twrp install-locate to custom rom .zip file and flash it also keep in mind lots of roms didn't include gapps so you have to download it from opengapps(for android 8-10) and nikgapps(android 11). Flash gapps . Keep in mind after installing custom roms you will lose twrp recovery so if you want twrp at this stage go ahead and install it
- If you want root access download and flash magisk
Its always good practice to keep stock rom and xiaomi flash tool with you just in case if something goes wrong you can reflash stock rom and boot normally.
Let me know if you need help
Cheers
