+1, also I think Arnova's latest versions includes lens blur alongside portrait, and it works better then stock portrait.
I'm keen to see some samples of this lense blur feature. Anyone care to share? Object Portrait is the only thing keeping me glued to stock ROM
Its take too much time for processing but in comparison of stock camera I choose stock one because its fast and snapy then gcam when we are talking about potrait shots

The ported Google camera in these forums has that ability. Doesn't always look great though, tends to blur the object in the foreground more than you would want, but it's there.

Yea, the bokeh thing, portrait mode. But the Google camera has the ability to adjust the intensity after you take the shot.
Hi to all!
I would like to create a meeting point for all LG G4 users of Google Camera mod's.
In my personal experience (LG G4 H815 @kessaras AOSCP (Oreo 8.1) 20170105):
NX Camera 7.1 fails
BSG Camera fails
@Arnova8G2 Cam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.4Beta2 works partially (Portrait mode works perfect. Normal photo mode fail on rear camera)
Hope to help to join experiencies and get a extra on our nice camera
@Arnova8G2 GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.5Beta2.apk work fine (some crash) on @kessaras g4 aoscp Oreo 8.1 20180107 ROM. Back and front camera working portrait and hdr+
scrubber_GCam_5.1.018.apk works but no portrait

I'm on v29 Nougat. (H-ROM).
MGCB_7.0H_C2API_Mid_v.3.8b_AllinOne_Full_Manual:
Works fine for me, I genuinely like the pictures better than stock camera. But I also feel like the stock camera makes worse pictures than it did under MM (only a feeling, didn't do any testing). Video doesn't work, however.
GCam5.1.018-Arnova8G2-V1.4:
Front camera works, but back camera is all black, going through a ton of settings didn't fix it.

You can use both gcam mod and for stock camera, use camera M.
I'm personally using both of them. Both mods are good. I like both of them.

They take better photos than stock camera? Also, in order to take good photos you have to focus first? Lock AE/AF?
For me, GCam is the best :good:
Pros:
- Sharper images IMO
- Better low-light photos
- Portrait mode is awesome
- Updated almost daily
*Highly tunable, i like that i can set different models, and different modes and see which is better
Cons:
- Not compatible with all Firmwares/ROMs
- Need a Magisk module for Front camera portrait (+ it's only 4MP)
- Dots -_-
- Updates are unstable (Some of them are working better than previous versions, but some crashes immediately)
It's just my opinion
How do you take photos? Focus or not? Single tap the screen?
What are the different G-Cam mods that you have tried?
What are the features that work properly?
Arnova8G2's 6.2.030 v2.2 GCam Mod
No root required. Front camera images greatly improved, stock camera app smoothens the image and looses detail. GCam provides much better detail and produces a more realistic picture. Portrait mode for both front and back camera is greatly improved in GCam, edge detection is far superior Haven't tried all the features

Have you tried SLoMo and Night mode?

SloMo doesn't work. night mode is a long exposure shot, have to hold the phone steady, or the images get blurred. Still the night mode seems better than the stock app
Android 10 update needs GCam 7. Version 6.X doesn't work for me. Anybody who has tried to port V7?
Hi,
Is there a way to install and run OOS Camera app (the one that comes preinstalled in OOS) in LineageOS 18.1 ? I'm guessing it's not only about the camera apk itself but also about some parts of the sub-system / kernel which include appropriate drivers to the Camera sensor hardware.
I switched from OOS to LOS and experience has been near flawless, until I remembered that camera support is as usual with AOSP roms is still a big issue since manufacturers will not open their APIs for full access and control to the camera sensor. I've tried all sorts of gCam mods, and the main issue is that none of them actually support the 2x lens, which I use a lot. Even back when I ran OOS and had both OOS camera and gCam mod installed, I would still defauilt to the native OOS camera for most usecases (full res photos, video, slowmotion and timelaps videos) and use gCam for specific uses (photosphere and panorama). I feel I'm going to have to revert to OOS if I cannot find a workaround the LineageOS / gCam situation and I feel I've been thrown back 5-10 years back camera performance-wise.
Thanks in advance for your help
There is no 2x lens in 6T it's a depth sensor.
Use this GCam Mod follow the instruction properly, it's a great camera app.
If you want to try OOS camera, try this. It didn't worked very well for me but you can try.

You are mistaken. The 6T has a dual camera set up. The first and main is a wide angle, the second is a 2x fixed lens. You can actually switch between cameras on the oneplus camera app (and you can check that by masking each camera with your finger) ; you cannot on the GCam mode which only talks to the main wide angle lense.

There is no 2x camera you can read it here https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...Vaw2MnkBUfABdd7OvgZiq0L7D&cshid=1621417321749
And GCam has way better picture quality than OOS cam.

Oh wow I stand corrected, thanks!
I dont know if its related to the API but sometimes the picture is taken with a bad focus even if it was good on the preview. And the flash is too late. There is a reddit about this with no real solution... I dont know if i have to inform lineage to adapt their stock app...
