I was using FoxFi for Hotspot since 2017 or so on this phone and starting today it doesnt work, it just takes me to my carriers website now. Any help or suggestions?
I'm having the same problem it worked for months and just stopped working today? Did you have any luck fixing the issue?
Try starting a VPN before you launch FoxFi, after starting the hotspot disable the VPN

It's been working fine until a few days ago when I connected my N7 to my phone using Foxfi. It connects to the wifi hotspot fine, but the wifi signal is greyed out in the navbar and I can't get any kind of connection while on foxfi's wifi. My regular home wifi works fine though.
I've tried turning wifi on/off and still don't get anything from foxfi anymore. Anyone else have this problem and have an idea on how to fix it? Again, it was working fine from day 1 and it's only started doing this a couple days ago and I haven't changed any ROM or anything to it.
Also, my weather widget seems to have stopped updating, its showing 27F as the current temp, which it's clearly 90+ right now.
Foxfi works fine on my N7, but it can be flaky. Sometime it shows up as out of range despite being next to my phone. Restarting Foxfi fixes it for me.

I swear if FoxFi doesn't work I'll send it back.
Looks like Foxfi doesn't work on tmobile or Sprint Note 4 yet. They can use Bluetooth or usb but no wifi tether. Give Foxfi a few weeks and they should have it fixed.
I'm on AT&T and can't use the mobile hotspot, only physical tether & Bluetooth. I couldn't use the Foxfi mobile hotspot on my S3 either so I'm not expecting Foxfi will come up with a solution to make it work considering how popular the S3 was and the amount of time they had to correct the problem. I think AT&T is blocking the mobile hotspot option. I couldn't even download Foxfi from the Play Store as AT&T was blocking it.
I'm on Verizon and yes it works....
Im on verizon and its working for me
FoxFi stopped working on my Note 4 today. Anyone else have this issue? It loads, wifi is available but nothing connects.
can anyone get fox fi to work so that when ever the screen shuts off you don't need to enter a password while its running? I got it to work but everytime i shut fox fi down and start it up again. I have to go thru the same process of clearing credentials etc, for it to work without entering passcode after the screen dims. On my s4 i would do the process once, and no matter how many times i shut the app down and started it, i was good to go and never had to go thru the clear credentials process again.
Suddenly WiFi Hotspot stopped while I was in CM11. I upgraded to CM12 still the same issue. When switch on wifi hotspot nothing happens. Previously it use give a notification saying that Tethering or WiFi hotspot active. But now nothing happens, no notification. Wifi works as usual but not WiFi Hotspot. I badly need a solution. Please anyone help me.

Same issue here. Im using CM12.1, then I installed Orbot and runs as service. Portable hotspot did run OK with VPN running. This morning after I reboot my device, suddenly other device can't connect to hotspot (very long connecting progress). After I remove Orbot, it fixed.
Another solution can be read HERE that may comply to your issue.
WIFI TETHER for Sprint S7 Sorry for typo
I am on a Sprint S7 G930PVPS4APK1 ANDORID VERSION 6.0.1. I live in the sticks and wifi tether is the only way I can get high speed for home. The quick reboot method no longer works. I have rooted other phones, but am no expert, and hesitate to try rooting my S7. Can't afford the ins if I brick it.
I have found From lots of reading (thanks to many) that using PDAnet+ alows me to use USB tethering to a laptop. The lap top will then work as a WIFI hotspot with what seems like reasonable speed. I was able to use the wifi on a tablet and stream Netflix, which is what I really want. Works great. It will be worth the $8 bucks to unlock PDAnet for unlimited data. So this works as Jan 2017 for free wifi hotspot.. I have seen no other recent references to this. i should mention i have unlimited data so have not
I do have a question While the WIfi hotspot from the tethered laptop works great, I can not seem to get my Chrome cast to connect to it. I really need this. It satys problem connecting to wifi router. I can't figure out why. The only clue? I constantly get a pop up on the laptop saying intel intelligent wifi is disabled while app running? any ideas would be very helpful TIA
I have been using foxfi for hotspot for the last 6 months starting yesterday it stopped working it shows that my tablet is connected to the hotspot but is saying a sign in is required which then takes me to my carriers website to sign into my account and it's saying there's no internet connection which there is because im posting this obviously and I'm able to get on YouTube etc.. anyone have the same issue and was able to resolve the problem ??
