Le Pro 3 x722: soft brick and bootloader blocked - LeEco Le Pro3 Questions & Answers

Hello xda!
I've inherited an x722 Le Pro 3, which is soft-bricked..basically works only the fastboot.
My problem is that the bootloader is locked.
So any operation related to the recovery fails with the errors:
Code:
FAILED (remote: Critical partition flashing is not allowed)
or:
Code:
FAILED (remote: oem unlock is not allowed)
Code:
# fastboot oem device-info
...
(bootloader) Device product name: [le_zl0_whole_netcom]
(bootloader) Device tampered: false
(bootloader) Device unlocked: false
(bootloader) Device critical unlocked: false
(bootloader) Charger screen enabled: false
(bootloader) Serial console enabled: false
(bootloader) Serial hw output enabled: false
(bootloader) Display panel:
(bootloader) is_allow_unlock: 0
OKAY [ 0.110s]
finished. total time: 0.110s
I've tried the various Batyan rom, but everything fails because the bootloader is locked, and i cannot unlock it.
Do you have any hint on how to proceed in this case?
Thanks for your support!
.: Francesco

I'm guessing you took ota and you flash it with twrp.
Sorry to say their is no solution for 722 at this time.
I would check out 722 thread.

I wish the person who owned that x722 came here and read the sticky in this very sub-forum before attempting anything. I made that sticky to prevent x722 owners from bricking their devices. I see it's not working.
but everything fails because the bootloader is locked

Yes. The bootloader is now permanently locked. I have idea what was flashed on that phone, probably stock 26s, which includes a stock recovery that not just replaces TWRP, but perma-locks the bootloader. Why LeEco chose to do that, IDK. All I know is, F.J.V, a developer who has taken interest in this issue, has tried a number of fixes to no avail. There's still no solution. F.J.V surmises that it's either a QFIL issue (there's no QFIL for this device and the x720's QFIL doesn't work), or it's something else entirely. You should check out the unbrick thread in the x722 Development forum to see what others have done so far.

Here is a problem if bootoader is locked fashboot will not work.

Prove that it works with a video showing it. I see you're forcing people to pay to download that software. Smells like a scam. If you didn't make it, don't charge people for it. That's just awful.
How did you get a QFIL file or perma-unlock for the x722? Some Chinese forum? Or did you put it together yourself? And does it work without fastboot, as mchlbenner mentioned?

Yeah. I'm just curious as to why the poster of that link is charging people for access to those unlock tools. That's a little strange. Anyway, that QFIL ROM is for the x720 only, really, but it's applicable to the x727 since they're pretty much the same model. Won't work for the x722 because it has different hardware.
The phone only bricks if you flash update.zip through TWRP. I'm sure it'll probably brick if you try to flash even the 20D zip file through TWRP too. The only eUI ROMs that are safe to flash are the vendor ROMs. The rest require the stock recovery.

The firmware can unlock everything you want, but you can not unlock the terminal.
This is a deception.

Can't push the stock ROM into phone as update.zip then flash stock recovery and there flash the ROM?

First thing this is a pure scam!!
Also you are not allowed to post links that cost money!!!!

If there's no fastboot then the phone is stuck in Qualcomm 9008 mode which requires QFIL (probably) to fix. The x720's QFIL doesn't work for the x722, and there's no QFIL for the x722 yet.
But you're right, if there's fastboot access you should be able to do those things. OP should be able to restore the phone with those Chinese soft brick files that restore 26s for the LeEco 72X series. (no need for QFIL, AFAIK). I deleted my LeEco folder filled with tools recently (since I'm selling mine) so I don't know the file names.

It can not.
With blocked bootloader you can not update the stock recovery, or anything, even if you can enter fastboot.

Are you also known as " zhong_ft" ?
Because You just directed him to a "donation" paid solution for the X720 that solution will not work for the X722. The guy in that link is taking peoples money claiming on several websites that he can unbrick the X720 when he cannot. Its a scam period!

Okay if your firmware can fix a bricked X722, then prove it by donating a time sensitive solution to one of the many people that have a bricked X722. If proven legit then you will have my apologies. Regardless, you are breaking rules 6, 7 and 8 of the XDA Forum Rules.
I seriously doubt that you can provide this proof unless you worked for Leeco Development and somehow managed to gain access to the tools to unlock the encrypted bootloader signatures. Tools now owned by Leshi.
BTW, I have worked for a manufacturer that developed encrypting and decrypting software, and it's not easy to create a hack on recent encryption methods. The bootloader locking encryption is there to keep unauthorized reprogramming/reconfiguring of the system and it would be extremely difficult to break enabled encryption without the inside Leeco tools which that at this point as far as I know have not been released.
BTW, I noticed that you have posted the same claim for many phones all throughout XDA, and that's interesting!
Reported!

what he said just above me I'm glad he report you scammers are bottom feeders!

Yes, you have to flash back to the factory recovery and then update. After this, re-root it again.

Actually what I meant is how to get the unlock code. Don't you need to unlock the device before rooting it? I checked on the Huawei website (http://www.emui.com/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail) and I can't find the AM7 product model.

Thx mate,
I followed your instructions for the UL-00 (the 2/16 Chines model in white. I couldn't stand the gold...) and it perfectly succeeded.
well done!
Now we're waiting for a custom ROM
I've unlocked my phone successfully this way and rooted it. But then i had to flash stock recovery again cause if not, OTA upgrades doesn't work at all. Worse : factory reset makes ur Emui rom look totally different after reboot (basic look, no theming, ugly...)
So when i put stock recovery back and factory reset, it looked like before.
But i didn't need to root again.

Successfull roll-back from oreo Beta back to Nouget

After using the manual Oreo update 2 weeks, Flashing several treble roms. Most with little to no trouble. I ended up with no more 4g or LTE signals on my L24 USA model Honor 7X.
So I took the plunge and tried to roll-back from beta oreo back to EMUI 5.
It worked. It took only few minutes to complete. I wrote down the steps, it was 22 steps.
If you do attempt this too, be advised I do not know what possible things could go wrong, and you do so at your own risk.
I will likely refine the document if after reading it many times I find it too confusing.
You will need backed up images of your original firmware. AND the original /data/hw_init folder
If / when huawei finally release a "full-ota" for your device/ region . this will not be needed, but until then here is a method to return.

Nice
I bet many users will follow this tutorial in the next days....
I was worried cause of the partition changes on Oreo that the downgrade would be very trick... But you got'it right
Still, wont work for me... (Stuck on FRP)
On About the Phone, is the model correct? Isn't it BND-AL10? (Since you used that model's image)
Great work.
Any tips for me:
- Boot phone
Using the SD card, is there any trick to prevent the phone to reboot? Any app? Any other trick?
- UPDATE.APP
All the files that i tried, NON make it passed the 5%...
This is the only way in that i have to the device...
-Relock Bootloader (?)
Just can't do it via Fastboot... Is there any other way?
Keep the good work

No, it is based on using a modified stock-ish recovery, which needs unlocked bootloader to flash.
And besides, this was a hackish method to get me by before there was a full OTA file for roll back.
I think your best bet on locked bootloader will be the host file mod and python server method hackintosh has talked about. He calls it erecovery. And it is intended to be done with the stock erecovery.

Hey I've posted a few posts around on one of these I got the SE on the latest firmware. I'd there a way to downgrade to earlier Oreo or nougat service rom without bootloader unlock. I bought the credits then found I was to high of firm Ware. I can't find straight answers any where I've spent all day downloading, and trying to update, flash whatever I can all ending in error. All bnd l34 I've got 344 it's files which fail at 5% I've never used one of the fancy heuweis before. Used to lg and Samsung. I'm no noob on flashing . Hisuite does not show rollback options... Like I said just can't find any straight answers. I'm stuck with this one either way but root would be nice

Lg V20 unlock bootloader problem

I have bought this secondhand handset, he says that it's us996 series, and when i check it in the setting information, it says us996 series, but then i decided to unlock bootloader, we know that us996 series could be unlocked legally, so when i follow the instruction, including put my IMEI and device ID in LG developer website to get permissions, the website says that my handset is LS997, so it can't unlocked legally, could any of you solve this problem? I desperately need your help, thank you (english is not my native language, so sorry for the language)

The problem is you got sold a ls997 that got flashed with us996 firmware including the bootloader while it was still possible. The solution is to use it as is, return it, or root it with the dirty Santa method and make sure you use a kernel with the dirty Santa fix (since most kernels/roms labeled just us996 won't have it)

I tried it once root it with dirtysanta, but i got stuck in step1.bat when unlocking bootloader, it didn't go as instructed, specifically in the android terminal emulator section, after we put that long code "applypatch /...../dirtysanta"

You need to roll back to version 10f, grab LG up from this thread, put it in
C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP\
Grab the firmware
Put your phone into download mode (power off / hold vol. up / plug in USB cable).
And then use the upgrade option in LG up to downgrade. Then follow the dirty Santa instructions

Probably intentionally removed, its literally impossible to miss. It takes up a large part of the back of the battery compartment (here's my factory unlocked us996 sticker on the original screen assembly). The clean back area is of course the battery compartment. The model being listed as LG-US996 (instead of US996) and the USA on the side (as opposed to BPT or UCL) differentiate the factory unlocked from the other two us996 variants

That's just it: there's no ls997 firmware but it can flash other variant's firmware (except the T-Mobile h918) as long as it hadn't gone past a certain ls997 update (others reading this thread in the future, don't try it, if it's been on Sprint firmware and been updated in the past century it's impossible, think the last Sprint update that could was ZV6 or ZV7 iirc).
Since it's on US996 firmware it should be fine. Also a good idea to use the dump option in LG UP to backup the modem, modemst1 and modemst2, and misc before you reflash with LG UP, basically everything but user data won't hurt.

that was basically all there is to it.
Get LG UP (put it in C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP) the firmware (kdz)
Put your phone in download mode by powering off, holding volume up and then connecting to the PC. Open LG UP.
Hit dump option, hit select all, uncheck user data on the partition list, then click ok. Since the phone was originally the LS997 the modem may be wierd so having a known good modem and modemst1 and modemst2 backup (done by that dump) is a good idea.
After the dump actually rollback by selecting the upgrade button and adding the kdz to the bottom section.

Flash a kdz with patch level of december 2016 using same above method. After that root using your preferred rooting method (Mine is given in signature, need to see in desktop mode). Then flash either SuperV20 or Vincent ROM and you should be fine (Let's hope so). I personally like Vincent more because it is based upon UX 6.0, looks nice and have most things ironed out.

P10 Lite Bricked

Hi guys,
After a flashing of boot.img take by Huawei Update Extractor my phone began to boot in a black screen, but with twrp and fastboot enabled.
So I tried to wipe data from twrp, but if I reboot the phone gives me the boot animation of huawei once, after it reboots automatically in twrp.
When I reboot via twrp it says that in my phone there's not an OS working.
Idk if this is a brick or something but if there's a mode to unbrick it i will very happy.
Status of my phone:
Bootloader: Unlocked
Twrp: Yes
Fastboot: Yes
Can Boot?: Only Once, then goes in twrp.
You need to reflash the stock boot image that goes with your current rom version, if it doesn't work you can try doing the dload method

Ok, I'm Italian my phone is a WAS-LX1A but…
There's a new problem.
I was trying to install a custom rom (lineage 14.1) but it resulted in a hard brick, my phone isn't turning on anymore and no button combinations work.
Have I ripped the phone?

So, idk why, I put it in fastboot, and when I plug it to the pc my phone is called fastboot2.0
Now what I have to do?
I was at that stage of hard brick with my p10 lite but then i used dc phoenix to reflash the stock rom and completely unbrick it.. The only problem is it's 15€ (unlimited flashing for 3 days) and i haven't found any free alternatives..
If you buy via PayPal and you are unable to unbrick they will refund you tho.
I'll make a video about it when i get home if you want to wait... From my experience that is the only thing you can do at that stage ( if you are unable to boot into erecovery, screen black)

If your screen is black and the phone gets detected in fastboot, then you need to flash the stock rom using dx phoenix.
Custom ROMs can't be installed via it and even if they couod be, you need the stock because custom ROMs don't contain the right files for an unbrick

They have their forums btw...
What you need to do is connect your phone to the pc while on bootloader, select the update.app file from the main firmware zip, and also get the customization .app from the "hw Europe" or sth like that zip file (if you have one) and then just let it flash.
---------- Post added at 12:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:21 PM ----------
Btw, if you did what i did a while back and played with oeminfo, you can grab someones c432 twrp backup of it, extract it and create a custom flash script.. I did this a while back so I can't give you exact instructions yet..
When I'll get home I'll do some research and make a video flashing my bricked p10 lite with dc Phoenix

Boot persist.img from MSMDownLoad Tool

Hello!
Oneplus 8 pro 12/256.
Such Problem.
CrashDump Mode after MSMdownload tool. I think the problem is with persist.img.
I have backup of persist.img which I made after buying device.
But I can't boot it because bootloader is locked.
I can't unlock bootloader because remote flashing is not allowed.
I can't allow remote flashing in Dev's Options because system doesn't boot.
I have an idea to boot persist.img from msmdownload tool but I don't know how.
I read that on xiaomi devices it is possible.
Can anybody suggest something?

Maybe by changing something in ROM for MSMdownload tool. But I don't know how to do it
one idea would be a modified MSMtool that installs TWRP recovery

This makes no sense. The msm tool overwrites and fixes all partitions. Like, did you have a bad persist.img and use msm, it will revert all to stock. Its basically reinstalling OOS as if phone has no partitions on it. An example, on my oneplus 7 pro using dual boot, I have 3 data partitions a/b/c but when I use msm tool, it fixes and reverts back to a/b. And I don't have the same persist.img that came with phone installed. I had to install a different one

Unfortunately, but it is.
I tried India 10.5.13 and global 10.5.4. The same result.
Msm downloads 100% without any mistakes (and locks bootloader) and than I have this:
Qualcom Crash Dump Mode
err_qdi.c:1038:EF:sensor_process:0x1:SNS_REG_INIT :0x5c:sns_registry_sensor.c:94:SNS_RC_SUCCESS == rc
subsys_err_fatal_intr_handlersubsys-restart: Resetting the SoC - slpi crashed. subsys_unregister

That might have been what ****ed your phone up. You are ONLY supposed to use the msm tool that matches your model. For me, global msm tool not Europe or china etc. There is a thread in development stating this
If you're going to use MSM, match your device variant it's not safe to rebrand using this method.
If your bootloader locks (which it should). And your fingerprint is still borked..,(which it could still be)
Then unlock the bootloader and run through the persist.img guide found in the guides section.
Tbh the MSM tool doesn't always fix the persist partition that's why people have RMAd their devices before there was a viable fix, otherwise there wouldn't have been like a 100 threads created when the persist issue arised.
FYI you don't need the back up to your persist partition to fix it..
had the same issue. Use Android 11 MSM tool and my battery was low like 0% idk if it helps but try.
Yeh, full battery is a wise idea!
I wish they had a Linux MSM tool for our Chromebooks, etc...
The only thing that fixes and overwrites ur persist partition is SMT download mode in MSM. But BE CAREFUL cuz it will delete ur IMEI and the Widevine certificates from the phone. I used it before and wished I didn't do it, now I'm with 0 IMEI and can't flash unlock_token to unlock bootloader cuz it says verify failed obviously due to no IMEI.
So use it with care and ONLY if you have no choice.

Just use SMT again it'll fix your baseband, and don't use random qcn files to fix IMEI cuz they corrupt the baseband.
