Screen on time

It's amazing how much we actually use our phones in a given day, especially when we watch "videos"! Rate this thread to express how many hours of screen-on time you can get on the Nokia 7 Plus before depleting the battery.

Mostly WiFi. Oddly enough my phone just shows "4g" not 4g LTE

Yesterday I got 5 hrs SOT with over 1 hr of Pokémon Go and still 24% left. Display was on full brightness in auto mode because the sun was shining like crazy. That alone used around 30%. After that I set up my Android Wear watch and did some downloading of games etc.
I think when simply browsing on WiFi/4G way more is possible. Will post if I have some figures.

These 3 pictures are from today. Mostly wifi, 1 hr commute, 40 mins Pokémon Go, a lot of twitch and Reddit.
Gotta say, I am very impressed.

I don't have screenshots, but on first cycle I got 5h45 min SOT( setting up the phone, social media, youtube, phone calls etc.) and 35% battery left when I left to sleep. First impressions are great, and I'm really liking this phone so far.

From 95 to 25.
Wifi and LTE casual browsing, lots of instagram, some streaming to chromecast.
Battery is fine.

It is purely wifi right?

7hr 15 min of SOT in 16hr 5 min of usage. 4G on whole time except the 7hr at night during which the battery dropped 6 percent.
Will update about how long it can go.

It's absolutely bonkers.

My result - heavy usage with navigation, taking pictures, changing countries and only via LTE, 3G, 2G

I am having massive battery drain. The launcher, phone app and voice calls are the main culprits. I have just charged my phone so I will be posting my stats when it drains below 20%
I am mostly on lte and a medium user. I am getting only 4.30 to 5 hrs of sot when the phone hits 15%.
10 mins of calls takes 4% of phone and voice calls. Is this normal?

Not bad, my old device Xperia z2 would go down to 35% for similar usage.

My screen on time is 5 hours. And battery drains to 27%. It isn't bad, but it isn't half as good as what others are getting.

I'm getting terrible battery level life. See attached screenshots. The phone is also very warm and still discharges when plugged in via USB. Do I have a faulty unit? Any tips gladly received. I've reset it, formatted the SD Card (from my old phone). I'm at a loss.

My battery life on 1st full charge with dual sim usage on 4G: I am pretty impressed with it.

I checked it yesterday.. il check again today and post it.. yes it was including heavy usage of games, installing apps, antutu benchmark tests etc..

Today i got an another update.. dont know whether it is because of that.. but yes.. now it is meeting my expectations

First charge cycle, only 4g was used, two sims in phone

Here's my second charge cycle. The first one was only 78% to 43% over a working day so no point posting that.
Not quite 8h SOT but I'm happy with this. Day's use included 24 minutes of continuously testing the camera.

Very happy with the sot.

Normal usage, Spotify streaming almost Everytime screen was on. Played one level of shadowgun legends idk why it isn't in the list maybe it didn't drain that much and 8 ball pool.

My screen on time is pretty less it seems. Is this normal?

Average. That's all I can say. I'll be waiting for a battery case most definitely.

Managed about 7 hours before the battery saver turned on.
About 30 mins playing games, 45 mins videos with high screen brightness and the rest using Chrome.

Facebook is probably the reason

I'm getting between 4.5-6.5 hrs SOT, i'm pretty happy with that!
interestingly Accubattery only shows a 3010mAh battery looks like mines a bit worse than it should be but still very happy coming from a nexus 6P which struggled to last 3

Afaik Accubattery has problems with Dash Charging. It also showed only 90% for me

Shame pubg is just medium graphics and slow framerate. I look forward to them optimising it. Don't wanna risk a ban using gfx tools.

This mate x has liquid cooling when on performance mode so its just great to see 13 hours screen on time

It runs red hot when I play it. Hopefully when optimised it cools down.

Battery 49% left... the screen has been on for 7+ hours.
Love this phone!

Just an update on this.
Pubg released an update today and now the game flies with much higher graphics settings selectable. And it seems to run cooler.
So happy with this phone, it might be the best phone I've had.

How's the screen look? And speed of the device? Hard to hold?

Exteremly perplexed. Out of the box this things battery was amazing on day 1.. 5 hours sot from 60pc to 20+. On day 4, just watching YouTube and scrolling on Instagram for 40 minutes the battery dropped 10pc! Disappointing for a 7nm chip and 5000mah. Ive been monitoring battery consumption and apps, which I haven't installed much. Projected to have 55 hours left on battery, 70 hours on saving and 230 hours on ultra. Do you guys think it's still calibrating?

Yeah, i think it's still calibrating... Remember to never charge your phone to 100% and never plug the charger when it like 1%... Always charge from 20% to 80% ... This will you will have a great battery life...

Can we get more posts with app usage? Showing SOT without what apps you use doesn't mean much

This phone is a beast.
With same configuration my Mate 9's best was 6+ hours SOT, Mate 10 pro was just about 7 hours.

Power saving mode off.
Auto brightness on except while on total darkness.
Double SIM cards from different providers active the whole time.
Walking and driving half of the day.
No WiFi at all except when I had to transfer a few GB of data to another phone via WiFi direct.
YouTube vanced active most of the time when screen was on plus a few hours while screen was off too. You can see I downloaded 1.4GB of data yesterday and that was mostly 240p video and last two hours 144p video.
I forgot to say I had Bluetooth on for more than 10 hours, and that's exactly how long time I was playing videos on YouTube vanced. Because I listen through the wireless earbuds.

Is anyone having shorter SOT post the emui9.1 update?

Any idea why or solutions to this? Read somewhere that removing cache might solve this but no results thus far

I am trying the Oppo Find X2 Pro vs OP8pro a bit, just now doing a casual 30minutes of photography and videos during a walk:
OP8Pro: 8% Battery drain
Oppo: 11% Battery drain
In general, the oneplus seems to be a bit more refined on the software side.

I'm very happy with the oppo find x2 pro (vegan leather edition but the battery life isn't good comparing for example with oneplus 8 pro. Oneplus 8 pro had some battery issues in the beginning but oneplus fixed that with the latest update . Oppo has to do the same !
Oppo find x2 pro : Average use SOC approx 4 hours or maybe less .
Oneplus 8 pro : average use SOC 6-7 hours .
I'm in Germany and the software version of the phone is CPH2025_11_A.24

I think you should be getting way more than 4 hours SOC with average use. There is a thread somewhere about dirty flashing the ROM or such. I'm same firmware as you in UK and I get a full day 'average' use (average use is subjective). I think even with the screen on continually, I'd get more than 4 hours.

Deffo something not right. If it were me, I'd reset phone back to factory settings and see what happens. Not ideal I know.

At work I'm only using WLAN and Bluetooth.
All other settings are the following:
Data off fhd+ adaptive hz, all unused apps are in energy safing mod.
When I arrive at home like 12 hrs later in total, I'm going in flightmodus only using WLAN.
Brightness is at automatic the whole time.
End of my story:
3 hry sot without a single minute of gaming or YouTube. Only medium usage with socal apps and Deezer.
I'm confused but I will try a factory reset.

Mmm your device seems defective, the battery of this phone is bad, lets be honest, I normally get 5 hours (all full) or 6-7 in automatic selection using it a lot, but 3 hours with everything automatic and without youtube nor gaming is not normal, something is wrong

Using GSam Battery Monitor to build up a profile of my battery usage, it currently reports that I can expect a full battery to last for 1 day 7 hours with a screen-on time of 5 hours 11 minutes. Not brilliant, but ok.
I know I could increase these times if I disabled the True Edge app I've installed but, as has been discussed on a different thread here, the Screen Light Effects built in to ColorOS to signal lock screen notifications isn't working for me and a lot of other people. The True Edge app does the same thing - and works! - but it's a bit of a battery hog.

12 hours when playing YouTube over Wi-Fi

I had battery saver active during this screenshot, but found most charges without it or with will be 7-8 hours of SoT. In my professional opinion, extremely solid battery, the best I've ever owned in a phone.

7h on 5000 is a **** at leathalf batery drian for nothing on relame 7 with 5000 batery ive got always 12-14 sot and mootla have better results in gsmarena with aberry so 7 is **** u doung something worng with phone
