it is faster than a z3 compact, with 405Mb/s from 1000Mb/s with one wall inbetween tested on a fritzbox 5490 with a theoretical 1300mb/s max. (on a pc i get up to 950mb/s)
a little bit further away (about 10 meter and with a floor and a roof inbetween and some metal) i get 191Mb/s. not that bad.
speedtest done with the speedtest.net app and both devices are connected on wifi ac and they are on the same spot when doing the speedtest. (and yes only one at a time and not 2 at the same time, so no interference)

I just can‘t search any wifi these days
just could not connect

I got better signals quality than on my OnePlus 5.
does it work on tmobile? i see its missing band 12 unfortunately. a little worried about that

Yes it works but you will only get 3g and hspa+. I also noticed that I would lose signal indoors.
Sent from my ASUS_X00QD using XDA Labs
Great on open area but drastically dropped inside or behind walls. I got roughly 60mbps outside my house but when I Wa inside the best was only 7mbps. Distance between the front and inside is only 2 meter
Are you talking about the Zenfone 5? If you bought the global one it doesn't support the necessary LTE bands to work in USA.

Coverage is good, mind you this is in comparison to the OnePlus 6.
On band 2, I get several better dBm readings on the Asus, but for whatever reason, I'm pulling much faster speeds on the OnePlus 6. Asus will be sitting at -90 dBm vs OP6s -96dBm.
I just did a test on the same server in the same location and the Asus pulled 74.5 Mbps DL whereas the OnePlus 6 pulled 113 Mbps. This leads me to believe 4x4 MIMO is not active or it is not utilizing T-Mobiles 256QAM technology. My guess is 4x4 MIMO, and I can't test if it's active unless I root.

Wireless signal strength is avarage to poor. My Xiaomi Mi4c finds networks where as my Mi8 doesn't. My Xiaomi Mi4c has almost full bars where my Mi8 has only 1 and even disconnects. The Mi4c wireless is the best I ever had on a phone, even beats the iPhone X in both range and performance.
Troughput is good, i dont have wireless AC, only 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. I get 200/20 from my ISP. A wireless speedtest when i have full connection over 5Ghz results in the following:
Download: 168 mbps
Upload: 20,5 mbps
Ping: 10 ms
These results probably could be better when using better equipment. My wireless network is provided by a TP-Link WDR4300 with stock firmware.
It's excellent. Nothing to complain about, 250/250 connection.
Excellent, on 600/600 5 GHz wifi
Can anyone else contribute on the wifi connection range and strength vs other phones?

Nope, as it's excellent, just like most phones today.
If someone have an issue it's due to their ISP/router etc. like @ndonkersloot, not the device.
No problems. Better than the Huawei V10.
Poor
My Mi 8 has a poor signal, I had a Mi 5 and the strength it's better, like @ndonkersloot I have the same issues
I just tried to disable the data, then I connected to the WIFI at home and I activated the Hotspot. Then I connected to hotspot with an old simless smartphone and was able to surf the internet. Virtually the Mi 8 global with MIUI 10 stable function as WIFI extender. Stefano from Italy.
Average at best. I have noticed it suffers from some of the issues that older iPhones had due to antenna placement. When you hold the phone horizontally (landscape), poor connections take a huge hit.

Wifi performance is pretty awesome
Speed is more than what it is on Samsung galaxy J5 owned by my father and my previous phone nexus 5.
Range is also better than with these 2 phones. Yes, I can stream videos in bathroom!
Agreed, wifi speed is great! (currently getting 70~ Mbit/s)
WiFi is great. I have 200Mb up&down and I can get them in Pocophone
I have noticed one problem which is when am using my poco f1 mobile's hotspot on my laptop...poco f1 doesn't show any data flow( data rate per second ) on built in speed meter
one of the best i ever used, compared to my other phones i used before like my nexus 5, mi1, blu r1hd. The only thing that can compare to with wifi speed and range would be mi2

Its common on xiaomi imo, my mi5s and max2 never show speed when using as hotspot too
SpeedTest OP 6 - PocoF1 - Pixel 2 - MI A2
Getting around 650 Mbps UP and down with a distance of 1m from the router using iperf3
Wifi strength is awesome for me. On previous phone ( Galaxy Sn4 mini) I lost signal so many times. On Poco, signal is as strong as next to router. LOL. So amazing
I get an error everytime i run iperf3
Saying " unable to connect to server:no route to host.
Can someone help?
After a recent update my wifi speeds have decreased drastically
Signal strenght is very good, my old phone had problems since I have bed quite far from router, but Poco has 2-3 bars. I use Pixel exp, but wifi is same as it was on MiUI.
Does Poco F1 support MiMo and simultaneus connection at 2.4 and 5 Ghz? 40,60,80 Hz Channel?
Any technical detalis?

I want to know the same thing!
Pocophone definitely supports 80mhz (2x2), i am not sure if it supports beamforming or mimo since i have an anicent router (TP Link Archer C7 v5) but I'm getting pretty okay speed

Is anyone experiencing low wifi strength when playing games (covering the wifi band instead of covering the speaker) ? Overall wifi strength is good but if you accidentally cover it while watching videos or something it slows down connection real bad.
(I'm on Xiaomi.eu 11.0.7)

All the 2019 xiaomi's suffer from low quality wifi connection ( i had note 8, note 8 pro, mi9SE and now mi note 10 ) and all are capped at ridicolous 96mbs on 2.4ghz while with others ( huawei's best ) in the same spot i have 400mbs.
My mi note 10 it's even bested by lower tier xiaomi's ( i have a redmi note 5 pro to compare ) regularly loose wifi connection in some spot and it's not auto reconnecting.
You cant have 400 mb connection on 2.4 GHz band . This is a lot over 2.4 can do. either IT was on 5ghz or GSM accelerated
So so
With different modems and qnc, you get different connection speed.

I have a netgear r7800 that can do theorical 800mbs on 2.4ghz, max i see at 20mhz channel is 400. With huawei nova5t i see 400, with this phone like i said max was 96 only, i flashed cc9pro rom (xiaomi eu) and now magically is showing 200.

No different to my S10 S10 plus or any other Samsung I've owned.
Perfect wifi throughout
Worst wifi receiver I've ever used
I come from a Note 2, perfect wifi signal receiver.
I decided to change after decades and bought an A71.
Good enough this phone concerning all but the wifi receiver. It is almost frustrating. While my wife's Hw Y7 and my children's old Samsungs do find the wifi signal at 2 dots I do not see any wifi network available even being in the same identical overrided position.
Very bad thing. Also thinking that if it is so poor receptabling for my safeness, while I'm in the same little space together with people with more dangerous devices I even do risk my health..
In few words: I do not appreciate this from Samsung.
I just bought this phone over the weekend, previous phone was Asus Zenfone 3. Wifi in my house and my parents house seems pretty similar, which is disappointing because I wasn't very happy with the Asus's wifi especially 5Ghz speeds. I did speedtests and ran wifi analyzer on both phones at various points in my house, the Asus typically had slightly better signal strength but similar speedtest result. I compared both against my wife's iPhone XR, that was significantly better in all tests. We have 300mbps internet and an AC3200 wifi router in a ~1500 sqft townhouse. The weakest point for wifi is my office because it's on the opposite corner of the house to the router. The midrange android phones were barely getting to 100mbps on either of my 5ghz networks while the iPhone was between 150-200mbps. When testing near the modem, the android phones would top out around 270mbps but the iphone would go over 300mbps for the duration of the test. On this basis, I am considering returning the phone as I've been working from home for the past 5 months and need my phone to have a strong connection.
it's because high end device have 2x2 WiFi (2 antennas) so the theoretical speed will be double (on 5ghz 867Mbps vs 433Mbps). mid range and cheap phones only have 1 antenna
