This phone is slippery as an eel. I can barely manage to hold it without droping it, but if you put it on a table or anything that's not perfectly flat it will slither away.
And it's really heavy.
Feel great with a case. I understand you might mean without the case. Yet, my biggest issue is the fingerprint scanner location. I often still press the camera lens.
Without or with case, this is the most comfortable phone I've ever held. Yes, it feels heavy at times but at least it is comfortable enough to hold that I don't really care about that.
I don't know why, but I have no issues with fps location, it is good for both aesthetics and ergonomics (other phones that uses fps on the back, always place the fps higher than on the XZ2, but it doesn't look good to me). The real issue with the fps is how flush it is to the phone's rear glass, although I have no problems with it so far, since I'm using a case.

The weight of the phone doesn't annoy me, but the slipperiness is horrible. I remember some motorola phones years ago they had a metal frame and a kevlar strengthened plastic backside and because of the structure because of the fibers it was not slippery and very stable and looked good too. You never needed a case only a screen protector. (It was even better with the screen protectors, all displays were flat in these times. I hope the flat screens come back one, because I don't see any advantage with rounded screens, for me it's only a gimmick.).
Pros: The overall size. The reason I bought this phone is because I do not like big phone. However, I find the XZ2 compact is slightly too small; hence the XZ2 size is just fine. Of course, iPhone X form factor is the best (for me).
Cons: Slippery and definitely need a case. Even with a matte case, it's spinning like crazy. However, the reason why I gave 3/5 is not because of this; nor the weight (the weight is fine for me). The actual reason is the fingerprint scanner placement and the overall ergonomics of the UI/skin. OnePlus Oxygen is far ahead in this area. I had to change the launcher to Pixel launcher just because of the notification bar. I prefer to swipe down from home to bring it down, whilst the stock Xperia UI would trigger search bar. That is not as useful.
Gosh, I have no problem with the fingerprint scanner placement. Maybe it's because I've never had one on the back before. I highly suspect that people who complain about that location simply because they are use to it being higher, not because being at the center is intrinsically wrong. In fact I think it's easier to find coming out of a pocket because it is towards the center. Whatever...
I've tried a bunch of cases and find they all help with the on desk spin factor. But I do feel a case is a must with this thing because of the slippery glass.
I'll echo others in that the shape of the back is one of the best things about the phone. People who ***** about the thickness obviously have never actually held one of these. My old XZ1 now feels too light; didn't think that would happen either.
I think ergonomics is very good with this smartphone, I don't get why is everybody complaining about it.
Yeah it's big, but for its dimensions it's quite optimized.
I've been using it for 2 days and I've already got used with the fingerprint sensor position.

I wanted go get the one plus 6 but I could never get over the notch. No matter how good the phone in term of specs I would be still holding a wanna be iPhone x. I went with the s9 plus. At least its original and unique design.
Dude, SGS9+ have a 158mm notch on both sides of the screen... so...
I just love the design and the big screen which is kinda nice although its a 1080p panel but the colors are sharp and accurate. I got the mirror black version which has the awesome premium glossy n shiny back to it, I just love it. And as far as the notch is concerned by many people, you can literally just disable the notch show in the software and it just looks like a regular notch less phone.
Psst.. its waaayy better than a Samsung considering the prize range.

I have both Samsung S9+ and OP6. Aesthetically, S9+ looks more prime than OP6. The finish of S9+ is impeccable. I have USA unlocked S9+ and it still comes with lot of crap ware. OP6 has much lesser bloatware and since it's to root, you could simply uninstall any app you don't use. I also feel Screen is brighter and sharper than OP6. I also like S9+ camera. Only reason I use OP6 as my daily driver because of speed and performance. OP6 user experience (at least mine) is much better than S9+. However, S9+ does have better aesthetics in my opinion.
This iteration has quality control issues. My SIM drawer surround catches my finger slightly and the nylon filler inserts in the frame are more obvious compared to the OP5.
I have never liked the 'horizon line' that Carl Pei celebrated at release; I firmly believe 'form follows function' and can find no reason for it to barrel as it does. Sadly, Apple has the phone form right - IMHO; all that is needed is a rectangular block with rounded off corners and mildly rounded arrises. Anything else is simply styling to delineate from the competition (and prevent patent wars).
I'm finding, with the screen to the very edge, that sometimes the way I hold the phone interferes with my attempts to scroll. The fleshy part of my hand, being the rump of my thumb, falls over the screen and acts as a touch. This means there are limits to bezel size and/or edge touch-screen sensitivity. I really do find a chin - something I can hold with my thumb and forefinger in a cantilever grip far preferable.
In the days of yore phones came with a small anchor-point in the body so a cord or leash to wrap around the wrist could be attached. In the UK, and probably elsewhere, phone snatching is a problem. A leash could help prevent a phone snatch,
To those notch haters; get real; it is possible in software to remove it. But it is an interim step on the design process; it will be gone in an iteration or two, I have no doubt.

I might have to agree about quality control. I've found that the tiny gap bw the glass back and aluminium sides is (very) slightly larger on one side.
Receive mine today.
Really don´t like the Notch, and that big thing with 2 cameras on back isn`t very aesthetic...
My note 3 from Xiaomi is much more sexy, blue, and also my Find 7 witch carbon back.
Apart that, nothing to complain about it.

Yes, mine too. I forgot to mention that. I use a felt-lined leather slip-case and often see small straggling thread caught between the frame and the glass back at the lower right corner (when viewed from the back).

not so much annoyed by the notch...but hate the fact that now network speeds won't appear on the notification bar..a bit annoyed to pull down notification shade everytime..
but screen quality and performance is leaps and bounds ahead when compared to my old RN3..

Totally agree with you about the network speed thing but that happens cause of the notch I am sure, overall Mirror Black looks amazing:good:
I got a silk white variant a couple of days ago and it looks wow.. I don't know why are few complaining for the design and colors. It looks very premium.
And regarding notch, there is always an option to hide it.
As someone who always runs black themes and wallpapers on amoled devices, the notch is mostly invisible.
And I don't get the people being so salty about the notch despite the fact that it's the shortest one among all notched phones ( and narrowest if you exclude water-drop notches and the one of the Essential PH-1 ) so it doesn't really interfere with the status bar. And when you go fullscreen with apps, the notch height gets blacked out and you still have 6 inches of the screen to view content on.
And even when you put a proper wallpaper on it, especially on AOSP roms, it looks unique in a good way( at least to me ). The notch on my last phone ( Xiaomi Mi 8 SE ) was hideous and it bothered me a little, but I actually like this one. It's what every notch should be like; a fair compromise to get a higher screen-to-body ratio.
If you don't like it, you're free to buy a Samsung or SONY phone ( SPOILER: you will have to get a second-hand one, encounter a great deal at your carrier...unless you're in Croatia where those are non-existent or cough up a lot more than you would for the OP6 ) and slap an AOSP GSI on either.
My only gripe, it's too thin. A slightly thicker phone would feel more secure in the hand and accommodate a larger battery.

Compared to my S8 and iPhone XS this regular S10 feels huge. It's very hard to use one handed. I'm not thrilled about it.

While physically it is crazy close to my s8, one hand usability suffers greatly (and I have big hands).
I keep refering to this as a plus mini, and display size wise it's pretty accurate (s8 and 9 plus had 6.2 inch screen while 10 is a 6.1. While slighty taller aspect ratio).
I'm not saying it isn't a "smaller" device, but it no longer "feels" like a small phone in use.

Mostly because of the lack in screen quality. I would have done it if the phones were identical in everything but there was a smaller one the same size as the S10e.

For most people yes. However I've had the iPhone X and XS and now the Galaxy S10. I also have high quality 4K screens at home and 4K gaming computers. I can always tell the difference! Lol.
I am a screen quality and resolution fanatic so it is one of the most important considerations I make in a purchase.

When seeing pictures I though it would feel awkward compared with my previous S8 but it actually feels good and not that different to the S8 since they are almost the same width.
Accidental touches/palm rejection are a real issue and worse than any previous device I have used.
I am forever opening the apps in the bottom left/right of my dock or first row and often find the icon/folder moved or removed completely!
Palm rejection is especially bad when watching videos and unless you use a chunky (ish) case I have not found a good way to hold it that does not trigger something on the screen.
Think the curved screen is old-hat now tbh and would have preferred a flat one. Also think it is cheating a little as it hides what would otherwise be pretty substantial side bezels.
Overall feel its okay for me since I have big hands but I'm not a fan of the edge screen, it's just annoying when typing one-handed.
We need a reachability functionally for Android asap. And not the "one hand" feature.
Edit: Nvm, Found Reachability Cursor and it works very well. Try it out!
Oh I absolutely love it. This is coming from someone who used an S7 for 1.5 years, and a Moto X Pure before that. I found the Motorola too big, the S7 was a comfy size... But the ergonomics of the S7 never felt comfortable.
However, the S10 feels beautifully designed. Samsung managed to make a phone with a mammoth sized 6.1 inch screen feel "small", the width is perfect, I will admit it's a little bit too tall but I wouldn't have it any other way. The curve on the back of the phone and the front are the same it seems like, which makes it even nicer to hold. Also, since that the cameras, flash, etc are all on a horizontal line they don't distract you anymore from holding the phone meaning less smudges.
The bottom chin is a good thing IMO, it makes the navbar buttons a little higher up making them in a comfortable spot.
I got used to the power button position fairly quickly and now I prefer it actually.
Overall, Samsung has done an amazing job on the ergonomics of this device, it's the perfect size and it feels great in the hand.

Compared to my Sony ZX1 Compact this is not good phone for laying in bed watching Youtube. The edges make it uncomfortable to hold in landscape mode.
Edit: With the case, it's OK!
I find the shape and size of the phone very easy to use.
Often I use the device one handed with no issues and watch film for a few hours.
I'm thinking about upgrading to a Op7Pro. Currently I have a Nexus 6p. My main concern is the size and weight of the phone. Is it too noticable compared to the 6p?
Should I go with the 6t instead?
those freaking curved edges, man. i hate it like nothing else. always in my way, always waking the phone when carrying, always touching something while watching ytb or so. damn, samsung should be shot for inventing such a **** - and of course, all copycats copying it like crazy.

I have to agree, the curved screen edges are all form and no function. All too often, I go to tap something (such as on a webpage) on the edge of the screen, and it just feels awkward and wrong. The edges serve no purpose, except to look like a Samsung (just with no camera notch/hole!). Still a great phone, but I would have preferred a flat screen.

The curved edges also make typing more of an annoyance when in landscape mode, because the bottom row of keys flow over the edge, making them harder to hit.
This is mostly a 2 hand phone for me, though I can make do with one hand if necessary. It's not as bad as I was expecting given the massive size of the thing.
I've had the phone since day 1. OnePlus has already made huge improvements to edge rejection in the last few updates but I still get accidental touches from time to time. Not awful, but I do hope OnePlus continues to improve this.

The reviews of the curved screen are dead on. It's pretty, and also it's pretty annoying. Too easy to accidentally push the wrong thing, and not all that useful. The notifications along the sides are cool (I'd like to see more customizability there), but other than that, the screen curve's utility ends at the demo counter at Best Buy.

You can disable that edge curve somewhere in the moto app. Saw video on that.
Just got mine today and it feels great and no issues with touching the edges...have more issues with edge on OnePlus 8!
I've had this phone about 20 hours now, and....
...prerelease reviews were correct, its roundness and smoothness make it not the most grippable.-- and yet has amazing one-handed utility, so I'm not repositioning my fingers unless typing, etc. However, the only issues I've had with the edge wraps is them NOT registering light touches reliably. I've had few, if any, unintended clicks, but it find it difficult to exit apps/go home when in landscape. And impossible if I'm using the phone in a clip (like for gaming).
Would love some more options such as continuous edge lighting when charging, and more shortcuts from the little folder side button (it could ALMOST become my primary app launcher as-is, and has a great config setup). Don't love the motion required to do long inward sideswipes to go "back" over the curved edge and into the screen, but it may just be the unfamiliarity of the motion. (I am used to android 9, nova prime, and the xda navigation capsule bubble on my last 2-3 motos.
That all said, love this hardware like I haven't loved a phone in years. It feels like ridiculous horsepower in a sleek sexy package, and compared it aloud to a muscle car and day g a model. Just dread when I will drop the slippery bugger!
Have had the phone for 4 hours and the single hand use is amazing. The case that you get with it provides a lot of support while allowing to see the back (The case is a god send as a lot of places just have the plus.)

I saw in review, this is heavy. Yeah it is. We can not hold and chat for long time while lying. It's literally hard. Sometimes gives pain to fingers after long hold. Using the back case makes more thicker. Definitely the light weight users will take time to make it comfortable. Slightly making me to feel like having old Nokia N70. Thickness makes me to think like that.
it is indeed very heavy - thankfully i am a big guy with big hands but even then I notice after a while my hands/fingers get tired.
I run a lot as well and hold the phone in my hand, and after a while noteice that too.
Its way too big for my wife she cant hold it at all.
All phones these days are huge, around 200-215 grams with big camera bumps its just the new norm. Personally I have no problem with the size and it actually is a really good feeling phone in the hand, has grip and even though the back is plastic is feels very nice and doesn't seem to scratch too easy

I had Oppo A5 2020 (195 Gram) before Poco X3. It felt heavier because it was less wide (720p display).
Poco X3 is okayish for the battery and screen size
Weight distribution is also fine.
Also, I have held iphone 12 pro max (my friend complained about the weight, I thought it wouldn't be that different from my Oppo) and yes because it is thinner and weighs 236 grams, it feels very heavy.
