I want to use my friends unlocked Samsung Galaxy J7 he used on Consumer Cellular. I want to use my Metro PCS sim card, but I don't know if there are any problems using a J7 from AT&T on Metro PCS. A Metro PCS sales associate said that it's common for AT&T phones on Metro PCS to sometimes take awhile to send or receive text messages. She said I might not have any texting issues because the J7 is a very good new phone. Does the texting issue happen to all AT&T phones running on Metro PCs?

Is it possible to flash the sprint variant of the galaxy s5 to metro and if so where or how? I've read up about att and Verizon versions but all I've heard about the sprint one is that it communicates through a different frequency but Idk
Bump
Since this phone uses CDMA, I would assume that you can, but I haven't used MetroPCS service in about 5 years.
Please note that you will experience reduced functionality (no LTE/download booster/WiFi calling) while flashed to a different carrier. You would probably be better off grabbing an international version.
Hello everyone. I need to flash my Samsung Galaxy S4 from Sprint to MetroPCS. What is the most recent way to do this? Thank you in advance.

Flashing is no longer supported by MetroPCS and not really practical anymore. Since Metro has stopped using Houdini no new ESNs can be added to their CDMA database, so the only way to get a working flash is to illegally change your phone's ESN.
Now, even if you did successfully flash your S4 over there a re a few reasons why it's a bad idea. For one Metro is going to be turning off their CDMA network completely soon, since Metro merged with T-Mobile thy use GSM now. Two, a flash would only get you 3g. And lastly Metro dealers will most likely not even activate the phone for you if you bring it into the store, because they are not allowed and will get in trouble if word got out that they were activating flashed phones.
If you want to use your Sprint S4 on Metro just follow this guide here to complete a SIM unlock, which will allow you to use your S4 with GSM networks.
Metro PCS is only offering the S7 from their store like last year with the S6. Am I correct in assuming that my best bet for an S7 Edge would be the T-Mobile variant? I know in the past this has been the case but I just want to make sure before I commit to something. Thanks for any help!
Yes. MetroPCS uses the T-Mobile mobile network and is owned by T-Mobile.
i just got my s7 edge from metro pcs. i wanted to know what you all paid for for it cause i think the kids that were working okie doked me
I purchased a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge g935p. It was a Sprint unlocked phone. I am using it with cricket on AT&T.
When I was at the Cricket store they acted like that because the phone had been a Sprint phone I might have a problem. Everything seems to be working okay. But I have just a few more days and I could still return the phone. I was wondering is there any reason to change to the exact same phone that had been he was with AT&T.? Will it make any difference as far as calls, MMS, or SMS? I realize some of the apps are different. I am only concerned with differences in performance as far as calls and texting. Would there be any?
Sprint and at&t use different network technology, sprint uses cdma, at&t use gsm. Once upon a time phones sometimes get designed with hardware support for either network type but not both. Some phones hardware for example the exynos s7 edge varient does not have cdma hardware support.
The service people and sales people get trained hard to know that 99.95% of handsets on one network wont work on another.
To answer specifically your question, it should work fine all the s7 edges in the usa use the snapdragon chip which can easilly support both network types if unlocked
This is available for purchase directly from Samsung or Sprint, can it be used on verizon?
Anyone have a list of bands SM-G892UZAASPR supports? I assume this one supports CDMA bands.
Thanks,
Jon
Hey everyone I am new to this can I have the opportunity to get a Samsung Galaxy S8 active from Sprint that will be unlocked will this work with Verizon Networks. I am using an unlocked globally Samsung Galaxy S5 with the old unlimited plan with foxfi for my internet for everything else which I know I will not be able to use with the S8 S8 Plus or S8 active... But will a Sprint Samsung Galaxy S8 active work on Verizon as long as it is Sim unlocked?
